so happy to have come across your page. i moved back with my parents in enugu state and have been trying to start a garden in our compound but ite been a bit of a hassle. from cucumbers stems growing too wildly to comatose pepper plants. to stunted okro plants. dont even get me started on the bugs and diseases that stress out my plants. or is it the hassle to find the seeds of anything other than ugwu, okro, peppers and cucumbers in the market! oh well, your page is very soothing.
I feel you Sis! I totally relate. The good thing is that, You are not giving up, right? I find that plants are living beings that feel, when you are genuinely determined to succeed in your relationship with them. You begin to receive insight on how to make it work. When you are ready to overcome all the challenges, let’s get that compound filled with nature’s gift of life. You are Welcome! 🙏🏾 😁❤️
And I still have some seedlings to give to two more people that would want to grow some of the vegetables I have in my garden. Send me an email: oluomachimoo @gmail.com
This is so beautiful and it’s an encouragement that I m on the right track. I began my mini gardening journey in my home and it’s been blissful seeing the plants bloom.
My Garden Buddy😁❤️ Thanks so much for your comments but please would you mind moving your comment here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GuGO6LNSqdc.htmlsi=iQ2vCMyTnA4-PCwX I’m about to unlist this video.
This came at a very good time. I started watching but stopped to get a light snack and a drink cos these videos deserve my full attention 😂. A question please, how often do you feed your plants with the chicken manure? Once a week, twice a week… etc ❤ Ur garden buddy😂
My Garden buddy❤️ Thanks for making me feel like I’m doing a good job🥹🫶🏾 You know what I keep finding out is that there are principles that need to guide decisions. When I have considered principles, then I can go ahead and apply them considering my very unique situations. The frequency I apply manure to my plants really depends on many factors: test-run, gut feeling, availability of manure, and so on. For these veggies at this time, I need them to do well so aimed with research, I just go ahead and try out stuff, till I’m able to find what works best. So, for the veggies in the island soil, I gave them manure after transplanting, a week later, 2 weeks after and honestly when I look at my plants they sort of tell me what I should consider doing for them. Life is usually not straight forward, you know!🥹😁❤
Very calming video to watch. When you put the bed extension with door frames, I saw you put dry leaves then layer soil on top, I was thinking you would leave them decompose but I saw you planted on them straight away. Please can you shed more light? So I know if I can follow? 😂
Sis! Can I tell you the truth, this is me, growing food my own way and It’s been working so well for me. It’s my quick way to start growing food immediately with what I have. I have a lot of dry leaves from my yard and little garden soil. Hence, my mix😁. Once the seedlings recover from the transplanting shock, I put poultry manure to nourish them while the dry leave takes its time to decompose. So, knowing this, what would you choose to follow?😁
Thanks for the explanation. This works well for you because I see your garden flourishing, I think it even makes sense because, the slow time it takes the leaves to decompose means the soil will have nutrients most of the time. I am very happy to try this out. Thanks so much ❤
Nice video. A quick question though. I planted my lettuce and it didn’t grow past one inches tall, new leaves would come but then die off. Also do you have a special kind of soil and manure to grow such vegetables and herbs here in Lagos? Thanks ❤
Keep planting😁. Please don’t be discouraged. I think that good rich soil is one of the secrets. I experienced same when I started, using the island soil, which was not very good for growing veggies. So, I ordered trips of farm soil from Abeokuta. Coupled with cow manure. I’m still building my garden soil though, with lots of compost, dry leaves, poultry manure….❤️
I don’t mind giving away my extra seeds and seedlings at this time, instead of watching them go dormant or stunted, on me. Let me know how to send you some.
I have a sister on the island.. Let me get her address and see if she can come for them or if she can get them via courier. I will foot the expense. Thanks ma
@@loudberg4835 I just heard about white biba seed from you. I’m googling for more info on it😁. Thanks for the question. I’m sorry, I don’t have the seed🥹❤️
@@caddeanrichards4180 oh really? That’s a really good tip. Thank you!!😊 but I wonder when there is no electricity for days and the refrigerator gets hot and food stored in there are emptied, how good can the seeds still be, due to the change from cold to hot?
I've been told that walking barefoot helps to ground you and has many benefits but I've been too scared to do it as there may be sharp things on the floor that may prick my foot. How do you find the courage to walk barefoot despite all the scary things that may potentially harm your foot
This is a very good question and I could write books on my perspective on this. The answer lies in your personal conviction. For me, I am reminded of how healing it is to be present in life’s small, yet profound moments. 😁❤️
hello, good to see these contents. i live on the mainland in Lagos and also finding it difficult to get the seeds cuz they are very, very pricey including shipping fee from island to mainland. pls can you give me tips on where to get the seeds and what to do. Thanks in anticipation.
@@odunayooke450 Yes, with all pleasure❤️. When I was ready to start my food garden, like you, I couldn’t find where to buy seeds in smaller packets. I went to mile12 and I was directed to Agritropic Nigeria limited Lagos office. It is very close to mile 12. They didn’t have the seeds I needed. But they connected me to their Ajah branch from where I bought the seeds I planted here in January.
They had two of the seeds I needed so I bought the two seeds and they delivered the order to me. The rest of the seeds unboxed here, were brought to me from abroad. For now, I know Agritropic to be the company from where I buy seeds in Naija. If anyone knows any other place, please share. 😊
nice one ma'm..am also interested in home gardening but also find it difficult to get the seeds and affordable composts and all other things i need for a flourishing garden. i live on the mainland in Lagos..can i get tips from you.thanks

I kept calling him for more seeds and he kept telling me that new products will arrive soon. 5months after. I had to go seed ‘hunting’ and was directed to the shop I bought these seed, located inside mile 12 market. A lovely lady I met there helped me to source for the seeds and I went back to the shop a week later, to collect them. Was this helpful?
