Yes I do cut my freezer paper to the size that will fit my printer. I also print one freezer paper at a time. Go look got the video that I explain how I print.

Phyllis, I do not have a printer. Is there any way you can tell me the dimensions of each piece so that I can make a template myself ? If not , no big deal.
This is paper piecing I can not give you the dimensions. Put the file on a usb key and take it over to a printer. You may not be able to print the pattern onto freezer paper. But you can use photocopy paper and a water soluble glue stick to stick the fabric to the paper.
I love making LeMoyne Stars (my favorite block). I have had this ruler for several years. Making 45 or 60 degree stars requires precision cutting. There is no better ruler than this for being able to align on the horizontal and on the 45 because of the precision markings. It is also a fantastic tool for mitering borders. Another tool that I use for foolproof alignment is Marty Michell's Deluxe corner trimmer. I use the 45 degree dot to ensure that I have perfect offset marks.
I’ve been interested in paper piecing and this video is great! I think I’ll make some little houses for a table runner. These instructions are very clear.
I am a steam kind a girl. You can use a dry iron if that is how you roll. The only thing I would do is after the paper pattern is removed is to use a little steam or spay some water then iron to make sure your seams are set. I find that a dry iron does not get hot enough to set the seam in place.
Thank you for showing this. But I have a question: how can it still be a 1/2 inch seam, if you stitch on it? Would this method not make the picture larger than planned? How can a stitch in the ditch foot help with this? Will it not gather the fabric underneath the foot? I need to experiment. Thank you for.
The pattern is finished size. The lines on the pattern are the stitching line you fold the paper on those lines and you will use an add 1/4 inch ruler to add your seam allowances. You keep the paper folded back and I use a foot that has a guide or a mark that will indicate the needle position. You are sewing just beside the paper that is still folded back in the same place as if you are sewing through the paper. There would be no gathering of the fabric. It’s as if you are doing regular patchwork with your machine. I hope this helps.

Just found your video. First time I've ever wanted to attempt paper piecing again. Always disliked the tear off backing. I have a client that have made this quilt and she has asked me to quilt it for her. I am also making one for my son. My client has asked me to quilt hers with Celtic Curlz by Urban Elementz and she has asked me to use glide thread #10CG6 Fog. I am not sure yet what I would like to do on my son's quilt. Fabric is getting so expensive to purchase. I am lucky that I have a room full of fabric so I can stay busy with patchwork and quilting for many years to come without buying any fabric. I must admit, I did buy 2 bolts of white fabric just last week because it was on sale for 70 dollars ( USA ) for 10 yards. That equals to 7 dollars a yard and that is cheap for here. Now I don't need to purchase any more fabric.
Glad that you like the little houses and the little tree all will work together. I have also made tall house and a tall tree and they will work with the little houses and trees also. Just have some fun making them and they are a great way to use up scraps.
I think that I have shown it close up in another video but I am not sure. Just look for a foot that has a little mark on it that indicate your needle position.
Mine will Curl up also so what I do is precut the sheets and put them in a filing folder and let them sit there for a week or so. After that I will always have precut sheets in that folder waiting to be used.
@@Katbird88 It will curl what I do is cut a few day to a week before I need to use it I put it into a file folder this will help to flatten the paper so you can get it through the printer.

Cute story about Walter. Reminded me of the time when as a teenager we had a skunk, as a pet, and obviously fixed so it couldn’t spray. Cute little thing but could also be agressive and bite.
