I don't have a side sprayer. My issue was clogged aerator screen on the newer pull down faucet heads. As soon as I unscrewed the head like in the video, you could see a bunch of carbon particles fall out and problem solved. Also if you notice that both the cold and hot water are blocked or reduced flow, its most likely clogged aerator screen.
I just got CuZn UC-200. Installation was pretty easy after watching a few you tube videos. When I turned the water back on, testing cold water it came out spurting black water, I let it run for awhile but it is not clear, the water is very foggy. I'm not sure if I should drink it...Did I get a bad unit?
Mine has trouble with overflow. I have it hanging a few inches down. I saw some photos from Amazon reviews where they put it right up against the faucet. Should I do the same?
Thank you, mine is stuck so I wasn't sure if I had to turn it as if it was screwed on or just pull. I'm still having trouble, but at least I'm sure of what to do now. ❤
If the side sprayer is spraying, does that eliminate that as a cause? My faucet has normal pressure on hot, so I don’t think an aerator is the problem.
I would like a video on how to install the filter. The dang thing does not unscrew even after soaking in warm water for Ten minutes. I am so mad right now.
Convert it to a plastic tube and make it long enough to leave the filter on the top of the fridge. It's easier to pull up a chair and replace it than to pull out the fridge. Also buy the push connect filters its easier and faster.
Added a replacement Filtrete and the flow was a fraction of the old filter. Your first suggestion… an air lock created by the side sprayer was the culprit. Problem fixed! Thank you!

Hello, great question! We recommend the use of the UC-200 for only cold water applications. The filter is installed so that all cold water coming from the main kitchen sink faucet is filtered. The filter can be installed for many different applications though, but all for cold water applications like say a fridge, drinking faucet, or supply multiple appliances simultaneously. If you have any additional questions please don't hesitate to reach out anytime to sales@cuzn.com or our expert sales team can always be reach during business hours at 800.345.7873 Thank you, CuZn Water Filters

Where can I get the bracket for the inline filter,I prefer this to the one with zip ties but I will prefer it to be the stickup type instead of the screws.
Great question Pete! As part of our comprehensive install support policy, we're always happy to diagnose and ship out any and all additional install components required for customers with a different application in mind (such as connecting the unit to a dedicated filter faucet) or that run into a non standard plumbing connection at no additional cost upon request. It would be our pleasure to ship out bracing straps and anchors for you at no cost if you wish to secure or mount the UC-200 filter system to the cabinet wall. The wife and I have personally owned several UC-200s over the years and we've never had any issue, the unit stands surprisingly securely on its base. We just hook the UC-200 up and then slide it into the back corner of the cabinet. Couldn't hurt to add some bracing straps if the filter will be living in a high traffic area or you'd simply prefer to add them, just send us an email or give us a call and we'll get them on way! Good Morning Iggy, No tape or sealant is needed for compression fittings. The stainless supply hoses included in the purchase have gaskets that form the seal.
I thought screwing into refrigerator metal back plates were no considered up to code ? Also, it states on water filter instructions DO NOT SCREW INTO REFRIGERATOR BACK COVER OR ANYWHERE INTO REFRIGERATOR DUE TO HIGH RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK???
Why couldn't that filter be placed in the basement? This would keep the water mess in the basement when changing the filter. And also avoid moving the refrigerator each time.
Are you supposed to leave the filter itself just hanging on the water lines? I thought there would be some sort of bracket to mount it on the cabinet wall.

Hello Mary, great question, thanks for inquiring with us! Inline installation directly to the cold water line is possible with The UC-K Series. Rather the 1/4" set up shown in the video, we'd need to set your system up with a 3/8" configuration for inline installation. We do that for folks all the time upon request. Simply give us a call to place an order and let us know that you'd like the system to be set up for direct to cold water line installation. We'll make sure it comes with everything you'll need. Hello Mark Y, great question, thanks for inquiring with us! Probably going with a CuZn IL-200 Series Refrigerator Water Filter will be the easiest and quickest route to go - Search "How to Install a CuZn IL-200 Series Refrigerator Water Filter" on RU-vid to view that option. That being said, The CuZn UC-K Series Under Counter Water Filters can be connected to both the refrigerator supply line and and the dedicated filter faucet simultaneously. Depending on whether you've got copper, braided stainless steel or plastic refrigerator supply line, the adapters necessary will vary a bit. To make an additional 1/4" line available from the out let of the filter, you'll simply start by connecting 1/4" x 1/4" x 1/4" T-Adapter to the outlet of the filter. Connect the stainless steel braided hose to one of the 1/4" ports and the base of the dedicated filter faucet. Use the other 1/4" port made available by the T-adapter to the refrigerator water line. Please don't hesitate to give us a call if you'd like to discuss this in a bit greater detail (contact info below). +Nick Danaluk, we've always preferred working with copper, being in the water filtration business, we find copper to be the most appealing option from a purity standpoint. PEX will leach MTBE for the first few months but that will decrease over time. PEX is quite easy to work with and offers good reliability. Either should work well for you!
