Thanks so much for sharing your story! I recently starting doing commission work making historical clothing and fantasy costumes. I've been getting jobs through word-of-mouth so far, but preparing to launch some social media marketing soon. It's been a fun journey!
LOVED the bit at the beginning about adding your expenses to your finance app!! It's not nearly as fun as creating, but keeping your financials in order, tracking every expense, etc. is SO IMPORTANT when you're self-employed. The sooner you start keeping track of your business finances, the better; even if it's early days or you're making little/no money. You'll be developing good habits that will serve you in the future, and building a solid financial foundation (which is as useful as it sounds boring!). Once upon a time I was taking band photos, mostly getting paid in beer and "eXpoSuRe." At the time, even doing something like tracking expenses felt like "why bother?" .... Then I branched out & became more successful, but by then I had terrible habits, and my finances were garbage 😅
Heck yes!! Lean into it 😂 Folks that don't appreciate your colorful chaos aren't your target audience or market anyway... Glad they were able to help you out in naming your patterns (whether that was their intent is irrelevant 🤭) Finding your videos just as I'm looking for inspiration for fun work clothes has been an absolute blessing.

The first one with the two kittens, how about a strip of fabric, ruffle maybe, that matches the sleeves but on bottom? Did you try it with the yellow pants? Couldn't tell if the yellow was close. Hopefully that makes sense, it's hard to verbalize what I'm seeing especially when I'm tired! Do you have an idea notebook for later projects?

I'm about to purchase a couple patterns for new fun clothes for my first grown-up office job (I'm 43 - I had loads of fun self-employed jobs in my youth so this is actually a fun adventure for me LOL). The other day I spotted someone coming into the building dressed in creatively cut trousers and top in unusual colors and patterns with a goose-shaped purse, so was excited to discover that's an option, and now I'm committed that there be two of us 😅
