thanks for watching in commenting. Yes I use a piece of plastic to guard the window and then a plastic wedge to spread it open just a quarter inch or less so I can slide the rod in between the window and the outer skin.👍
Buy 2 used doors and call it a day. Anyone in their right mind wouldn't even take a pdr job on like that. Hell, looks like they were playing Demolition Derby with their friends.
Hi there, thanks for sharing. I noticed on the last view videos you are not sharing your actual work. "grow the community and help others" is a good motto.
sorry this time I was alone with no tripod for the camera. It was just kind of before and Afters. It was four hours worth of pulling and tapping. Sorry about that. We will get the full process in for sure like always in the next videos. Thanks for watching and commenting.👍
Most of the people i get arent looking for total perfection just make it better and less noticable..perfection costs alot..your videos have helped me out and i enjoy watching them ...keep up the good work
Ha ! Ha ! HA ! Jesus, you're like a bull in a china-shop ! You'd be the last thing I'd want around my car, let alone my Porsche ! Your clumsiness & poor awareness put new scratches into the front end of that Porsche when you carelessly yanked your light-board off of the car ! besides that, great work !
This was such a useful video to come across. I purchased a salvage car at auction, and 1 side is a real mess but not structural, worse than this, the other has a few dents that I felt like I could pull myself. My plan was to get 'proper professionals' to do the big stuff while I do the lesser stuff, but none of the 'proper professionals' near me will touch even part of it. I have had the car inspected, I know that it's fixable, I know that I am going to have to pay for some new parts but seeing this, I think maybe I should have a see at what can be salvaged. The car is a wedding present for my wife to be, and the best that I can afford. It doesn't have to be perfect, it has to be good enough, because other than the body work, it's a brand new car! If I make a video about it I will have to let you know, and tag you in. Thanks to you and all the other PDR channels for all the advice and showing what can be achieved.
I'm a lifetime auto body tech who is fascinated with pdr .These guys are really talented and have amazing skills.I work in a new shop here in New Orleans called x-a-Dent where they also do pdr ,I'm gonna learn this art and increase my skill set .Thanks for sharing your expertise . And as far as stretched metal goes the only way you really can shrink stretch metal is with old school techniques involving heat hammers and dollies and water quenching after the shrink. What we do is we take a dolly block and create a super high spot from the inside out, then we heat the hi spot in the metal till it's cherry red ,then using on dollie hammer blow and a wet rag to quench it with after the dollie blows .Old body man joke when people ask me how I straighten metal ,I tell them I don't straighten the metal I just move the dents around.
no, unfortunately, the car went away, and I never saw it again. I was told that he sold it. I offered to work on it more to see how far we can get it but it kind of disappeared. Thanks for watching and commenting. This one was just, kind of a testing the limits video for PDR
Bravo! I am encouraged to see you tackle that awful dent job. What things we do for friends. I have a driver door I'm pulling at the moment. Tapping down crowns first then start w glue tabs. I wonder at one point do you just conclude to go via inside panel? 27yrs in industry .great work.
Is this a joke? Lol why would you even attempt to repair this. This is not even close to a PDR repair…. This is a buy new doors scenario. Your time is valuable, don’t waste it.
not a joke as much as a valiant attempt. It was a neighbor, kids car and I knew it would never come out. I just wanted to see how far I could take something with a couple hours of effort. Yes, he ended up getting new doors.
