Thank you for your comment. Cylindrical diversions began to be made around 1930. Today, it is an essential water distribution system for agriculture in Japan.
I went there a few years ago hoping to see something like this, but the locals told me they hadn't had the beach glow with hotaruika in many years. A little dissapointing, but I ate tons of them and they were friggin delish!
Thank you for your comment. The phenomenon of shining beaches has disappeared for several years. More people were captured before it shined. But Toyama's firefly squid is the most delicious in Japan.
