On the reaction to the addiction center personnel turning Luke and Joey away.... Look it from the staff's point of view. Addicts absolutely lie through their teeth when they are in the throes of their addiction. There is limited space at those facilities, and they cannot run a revolving door policy wherein you can leave for overnight and be welcomed back. As the lady says, those beds need to be for those who "want" to be helped. From their point of view, Luke and Joey could have left, scored, and come back for breakfast and a place to come down. That's not fair to the others.
There is in reality, if a man eye iris change into blue color, that means his bones are infected with diseases. Ivar's legs started to crack. The symptoms called Osteogenesis Imperfecta.
Your reaction, about expecting 'the scary stuff to start' is why I feel like Flanagan's shows don't really belong to the horror genre. Or like RedLetterMedia said, it's a sub-genre best called "Emotional Horror". The emotional content - the trauma, the grief, memories - this IS the horror. They are the actual horror elements. The ghosts and conventional horror trappings are more like, metaphor
27:17: I like your authenticity so much! And it's nice to see how much you appreciate this show. thanks for these reactions! can't wait to watch the rest :)
9:14 i am bingewatching your reactions and i had to pause here, because that's why i love to watch your reactions so much! i didn't know this channel before and i have watched a lot of reactions. the amount of things you've predicted correctly is pretty cool. love your thoughts on every episode so far and i like just the way you are, which makes me really enjoy your videos. like + sub! i'm looking forward to check out more from your channel once i am through with the Hill House reactions :)
I think this episode is actually a very powerful litmus test for depression becuase the monologue is extremely accurate as a metaphor. Depressed people are usually numb most of the time rather than sad. We piss off our friends and family and drink a lot not as means of numbing the pain, but because having strong emotions directed at us or being drunk is often the only way that we're able to feel anything, and pain is truly far better than complete emptiness.
viltrumites are more like Asgardians than Saiyans but Allen specifically is like a saiyan in that he gets stronger every time he heals from a life threatening incident.
“Omni man has all the powers, and gives none of the fucks” was legendary 😂 awesome sense of humour from both of you, would love to see you guys come back, maybe watch Ted Lasso👀
Olivia and Nelly are The Two Storms, the two catalysts of this story that is why the family is reliving this grief. But at the same time this explains a lot. Nelly was able to move through time and space, so could Olivia (the mom) both were lost in one of the storms and both are dead now. Except Nelly didn't kill herself maybe one was the catalyst and the other the hero and the one to bring healing to the family. Shirley said that Nell was the one that always wanted to get them all together, i feel like that is her mission while the mother separated them through grief Nell is uniting them.. The Two Storms.... I think that Mike Flanagan has a good idea of what true horror is. The horrors of what happens to us in real life and a lil subtle jumps scares within his storytelling is remarkable. That is like his own personal brand. God.... This whole episode was so sad. I couldn't stop crying, especially towards the end.. "I was right here nobody could see me". But seeing baby Nell in that casket was too much for me.
the door wasn't easy to open didn't you not see how much muscle dude(Duncann) struggle to open it for them ? they literally had to go on top ?!! if they had open the door then bring the kid inside they would have all been attacked by the walkers and he decided to leave the group if he had stay that wouldn't have happen
I have felt upset because it has not occurred to anyone or the writers that Carol is the saddest queen in the universe, that her pet was not killed. She lost a son; the child who made her delude herself with the desire to be a mother again and protect him. It bothers me that people in that community just misjudge her, no one has lost more. I already want the writers to leave her alone! She deserves to be happy! and besides neither with Daryl nor with Ezequiel. They are a nuisance!!!
I have a strong dislike for self-righteous people. specially after this episode where shirley did something as horrible as cheating and then never told her husband and then she thinks she has the right to be this mad at him for not even listening to his side... just like that she became my least liked character in the show... I found her more intolerable than steve (popularly disliked character) at this point...
I agree with you sir(beautiful shirt by the way) the guy that plays zemo(not going to try to pronounce his name) is a badass actor... he brings it everytime... I don't think he was respected enough in the mcu's canon... people like him, Kingpin,Kang... etc.... are the type of villains that can put superheroes and supervillains in their place... they can do it verbally, emotionally and if given time to prepare.... physically... imagine Thanos arguing with Kingpin... and Kingpin winning over zoning rights... AND THEN THANOS BEING HIT WITH A SUPER STUNGUN....AND KINGPIN ... WHIPPING HIS ASS WITH SOME SPECIAL GLOVES.. Kingpin got from a supervillain... and let's not mention the psychopath Killgrave(from Jessica Jones) I'm just saying imagine where regular peak level humans and small time superpowered villains were able to own the big baddessssss
I think my man in black gets it, this is to the lovely woman in red.... the reason falcon is upset about not hearing about a black supersoldier...is because...he didn't choose to take the serum... it was forced on him....he was falsely imprisoned for doing the right thing... And the very government that he fought for did this...he does what they ask him to do... and they pissed on him for doing it...he wasn't allowed to see his wife...he was branded a traitor... how would you feel being experimented on... being falsely imprisoned for 30 years... and basically not allowed to have a life by the people who you sacrificed your life for
There are so many correct "predictions" in this reactions, that you two should either play the Powerball lottery, or simply admit that you watched the series already.
i have to correct you right here. the Mauler twin are the only characters with superpower that didn't kill anybody in the whole season. they didn't involve in any case
They're not all based on Shirley Jackson, just this one. What the theme is, that Flanagan seems to be focusing on, is the foundational tales, especially in Gothic Horror, that led to modern Psychological/Atmospheric Horror. The classics that, if they hadn't been written, Horror wouldn't quite be what it is today. Bly Manor is based on multiple stories, especially The Turning of the Screw, by Henry James. I think The Fall of the House of Usher, by Poe, is going to be next. They replaced the lead in that one, and had to refilm a bunch. So production has been longer than originally anticipated. I'm glad to find another reaction on this! It's one of my favorites abd I've been obsessed with it lately. I'm going around YT, binge-ing a bunch of reactions to it, from a bunch of channels 😆
He is the Imortus version of Kang. The older, wiser version of Kang at the end of his life, the final boss form of Kang. Also the sacred timeline always contain multiple universes however those universes did not lead to a version of Kang.
It's implied that Poppy was also driven mad by the house, and once it got her, it used her as a vessel to help drive others mad. Once the new Mum came along, it uses her as a vessel instead now.
