Congratulations!! New subscriber here. Your videos have been really helpful for my UChicago research and I’m really happy that you got into law school (and have a consistent exercise routine haha)! I’m an incoming UChicago student who wants to major in bizecon and plans to go to law school in the future. I would love to know if/how your economics training has helped you gain perspective on legal issues. I feel like I could pick an “easier” major, as I’m also not that great at math, but I’ve just noticed how econ has so many connections to the many issues I’m interested in (healthcare, health economics, insurance etc). And I also really like economics! I picked business econ over the other tracks because the core courses genuinely looked more interesting. I also don’t plan on getting a PhD, so the other tracks aren’t of great interest to me in that regard. However, I have no interest in IB or finance.
I'm currently using a softcover A6 Leuchtturm notebook as my EDC planner. I downsized from a Sterling Ink CP Horizontal Weeks. It's perfectly lightweight and small to fit in my bag. I've been debating about getting a 5 year journal for myself. I love Leuchtturm notebooks, but I'm not sure if I should get the 5 year journal. What is your opinion on the pros and cons of the Leuchtturm 5 year journal?
I love the distinction between planning and reflecting! I’ve been using my 4 notebooks similarly this year: I have an A5 TAN as my planner, an A6 Muji 1 page 1 day as a daily journal, an A6 horizontal weekly planner i was gifted for daily gratitude entries, and a muji A6 horizontal weekly for a weekly to-dos/ weekly reflections. You have a new subscriber!
Ohh this is so interesting!! I also use TAN A6 and a hobonichi A6 regularly but my use cases are totally flipped! I need a lot of space for day-to-day task management and use a migrating post it note system on my pencil board as my weekly overview to stay aligned with overall goals. But I can’t for the heck of me plan on a vertical weekly layout hahaha! So I use my TAN A6 for memory keeping about media 😂 and funny enough, I also use the TAN A6 monthly for habit tracking!! I get to change things up weekly if I get bored with tracking something so I that better than a usual yearlong habit tracker. Also - hello UC alum! Makes me feel a bit old hahaha so much time as passed - I miss campus!
Wow! I have to try the migrating post it notes system too - there are some weekly tasks that I can’t schedule right away, so it would be nice to have a place to host those lingering to dos. Also, I feel the same way when I talk to other more recent UC grads 😂 time passes fast!
Yes--100% about noting down non-recurring items in the weekly overview inside the TAN! I just started doing that, too. Thanks for the vid. Always looking for tips for my A6 TAN!
Been following you since the UChicago vlogs and this is such a lovely update Sissi!! 💕 as a fellow Econ major to law school student I can’t wait to see what you post on your next adventure :) congrats!!
Despite spending hours editing this, I made a typo... PS Draft v8 was actually supposed to say Nov 2023 (but I didn't finish making tweaks to my PS until December, after I had already submitted my ED apps lol) 🥲
Thank you! Very helpful. I’ve been trying to either find a simple template or figure out how to make my own. So many of the ones available to download are too busy and rigidly structured for me.
Thank you so much. Videos like this one are invaluable. My 9th grader wants to study economics and music in college. In time I'm sure UChicago will be one of his top choices.
I just found your channel & your vlogs are fascinating... *Having said that-* I had to stop the video at the 4:00 minute mark. *YOUR CAPTIONS-* *MOVE TOO FAST.😳* You make it so you have to *Decide* *Do I try to listen or Speed Read?* *PLEASE SLOW DOWN THE* *CAPTIONS-.* *I'm getting a headache 😣.*
Absolutely amazing!!! I like the idea of formulating your own planner cuz even I have tried so many planners but ultimately end up using something I create! Also I love keynote …it’s very simple to use as well! ❤
Great video!! I'm very impressed and at the same time a little jealous of your amazing Chinese!! I would love to learn more about how you learned the language and how you are maintaining it. See you next time 🤗
