thank you, a great tour showing most of the trails that i was walking 60% of my time when i was in uchicago... the only missings are bookstore/postoffice/boothshool/ihouse
chocopuffeater oh i see, but did you choose any subjects? (like did your school have a common curriculum or did you get to choose some subjects on your own?)
I'm looking forward to seeing Campus North in person! Maybe at another alumni weekend... the last time I was on campus was alumni weekend 2018 and it was a big construction zone then. Oh right, Woodlawn is a thing now too! I lived in South (RGG) so that'll be closer to home. I basically never went to the Crown/Smart area lol.
Would you mind making a video on your stats and how you got into UChicago? I will soon be applying to UChicago (most likely ED) and I want to get to know more! Thanks
Hey! I won’t be doing that since I feel that it’s not that useful to learn about stats (you can just get that from the website) plus since I’m a third year my stats may not be reflective of how it is now
@@chocopuffeater hehe thanks for replying! i am totally on your side! I'm actually more interested in the extracurriculars that you had and were you an international applicant or domestic?
It's close knit. I'm going to qualify that by saying most of the stress feels like individual stress since you and your friends usually don't have the same classes. Also, (other than some departments: bio, econ) there is no predetermined grade scheme, your grade depends on only your performance in that the cutoffs for each grade are naturally decided by where people cluster.
I've been researching U Chicago quite a bit, in preparation for my interview for Booth's incoming class. It's cool to learn what the school is all about, outside of the business school.
I’ve actually taken (and struggled through haha) quite some courses at Booth and I think Booth also carries the tradition of UChicago too (in a different way of course)! I’ve really enjoyed learning/struggling through psets with MBA students. If you like intellectually curious, collaborative, and “do it for learning, not for the grades” culture, I think Booth is exactly that.
Remember to show people where they will be mugged or attacked! This is UC not Northwestern! Walk a block off campus and you are taking your life in your hands.
Why just because UC is surrounded by black low income areas? Two buddies of mine went to DePaul, they got mugged because they were walking on their iPhones at 1am and not paying attention . Made themselves easy targets It’s crime everywhere in any major city like LA, NYC, DC etc. Stay on your P’s & Q’s and use common sense and you’ll be fine. I’ve lived all over Chicago from Hyde Park, Pullman, West Side and Wicker Park. I’ve never been robbed because I always remain aware of my surroundings.
