Great d.i.y.!!! Thanks! One question: because you can not screw the lid all the way back on, when the pen is trough the holes, won't the sand leak out at the lid, or the lid run off? Or is it thight enough up to the pen of the air-pistol?

You could use smaller magnets and independent sensors for each gear. And use a motorcycle gear indicator light. But this is exactly on the right track to make one by using proximity switches to complete the signal.

Getting ideas for my fwd , it has boost by gear through a link ecu controlled by a speed sensor on the speedo cable but does not recognise what gear you are in just the speed and it boost cuts if your going slower than the previous gear's top speed . I believe this would solve my issue , but my car is an 80's hatch that has one tubular rod that connects to the gearbox. This would present and issue with torque flex of the engine and gearbox as the rod has no give. The sensors would have to be connected to the gearbox to get around this and boost by gear is on in 1st 2nd and 3rd so it should be easy enough to set-up through one of the trigger inputs . I want to get my low 5 second 0 to 100kmph into the 4's Thanks for the inspiration.
After 3 years it still works great. That said. I do not use it very often but when I do pull it off the shelf it does the job with no problem. I did get their extension cable for more flexibility in placement but it bever worked. Could be as simple as a bad connection but as I didn't really need it I just moved on. Gave a Great Day.
Thank you so much for the video. I hate drum brakes, and I found it wicked easy to just take off the HUB. it only took (4) 14 mm bolts, and she popped right out. I bought a stud puller from Amazon, it's basically a free-spinning ball bearing. You thread the stud, slip on the "ball bearing" throw on the nut, and carefully ZIP ZIP with an impact, and it's done. To me it seems that the Acrylic is not totally blocking the Infrared but making it diffuse. Because I see the whole acrylic plate turning yellow when it comes in front of the hot bottle.
Good observation. The plexiglass is very reflective in the IR bandwidth. Thus us referred to as having a low emissivity. The yellow and sometimes blue is the glass and plexiglass reflecting temp sources behind me as I'm not holding it steady. Sometimes your seeing the inner walls behind me and sometimes the ceiling or windows behind me. But great observation :)
Any idea how to trouble shoot the autodimmer on my rear view mirror? The plug keeps backing itself outand not holding good contact but i also lost steering wjeel radio control the same time the mirror stopped dimming when i got beemed with light
Thank u so much for this video. Prob makes me sound dumb but ive been waiting to replace mjne for like 2 years thinking i had to pull the entire dash to do it. Then i was like maybe theres a video and pow. I hve have a gt 6 speed eclipse 4gen and ill be damned if my tach hasnt worked since i bought it a couple years back. Didnt work when i bought the car and the car was a couple hrs from my house so when j paid for it and told them id be there to pick it up they waited til i got there to tell me they didnt have time to change it yet which made me assume it was a 8 hr project. Not a 10 minute one.
Simple, affordable an effective. however, wouldn't it be even better with a hole in the bottom of the bottle(top of the sand when you invert to use it) by preventing a vacuum lock at the top?
My tac gage went out and i have to pull my cluster and replace it just wondering if u might show a video on how to remove your cluster. Just assumed i had to pull the entire dash but seeing your dash together and yours loose maybe it can be done fairly simply.
How did you get the alternator out what did you have to take apart is my question there a hose in the way so I wanted to know how you got the alternator out ?
