Had this same idea! I’m missing pieces on a vintage puzzle, it’s a complicated image and I’m no artist. Using your phone and zooming in on the details is really helpful and id never have thought of it . 🙂
Toured this museum in September 2023. Nice lady, Tigeli, who owns this property. Made some purchases. Her father bought or was traded bee house to have as museum.
I tried this with polymer clay from Kmart, but the clay stuck to the glass underneath it... put a layer of greaseproof paper on top of the glass, but it stuck to that too. Using a glass as a roller, it stuck to that as well!! 😫🤔 I sprinkled baking soda top and bottom, no more sticking 🥳. You could also use baby powder or corn starch.
Well, there is one thing - you don't want to be watching this right after you've had cataract surgery. Whew! I like old stuff like this. Pretty good size bee house.
If you put the whole thing into the refrigerator for a couple minutes to harden clay the pieces would come off a lot easier but thank you so much for this I’m going to use this
Thank you soooo much for this. I never in a million years would have though to use clay. As an alternative to painting, you may also be able to scan the box, size the missing piece, and print it out on shiny paper.
I had the same idea for fixing a missing piece in the puzzle I finished this week! It's fun that someone else has done it. Looks great, too! Also, I have that same fish puzzle! We did it last year, and it fortunately had all the pieces : )
He says not to open bonnet....do open the bonnet to give you some light shining through when you put rubber cap back on. Makes it a little easier to see.
