I have this very same riffle. Mine was made in 1983 and I bought it in 1988. I was out shooting with it today and its still fantastic and extremely accurate. Will never part with it.

I’m surprised about the power as they are double springed yes the Telly Relum was a very different beast to say the least but when you’ve only paid £20 for the old gun you can’t expect the equivalent of a Holland and Holland or Purdey and to have one shot kills on rats the barrel can’t be that distorted can it ,no put new internals in the rifle and you may well be quite surprised I’ve owned mine since about 1969 ( second hand) and I still own it
