I use the EHX Sovtek Deluxe Big Muff on bass. It's basically the same circuit as the tall font Green Russian, as the Sovtek Deluxe is a Civil War reissue, with the clean blend and gate from the DBBM, though instead of LPF and HPF crossover controls, it has semi-parametric mids, one for frequency and one for level of said frequency, and a low Q/high Q switch for selection of mid frequency range in place of the -10dB input pad (this mid circuit also has its own bypass/activate stomp switch), as well as a "wicker" switch that basically adds more high end clarity and presence.
I blend the digitech version (which sounds identical) with an ODB3 set mostly clean and it sounds killer, the death metal has the dirt and sustaining sub lows, and the odb3 has a clanky clarity and thump to the sound. Conpensating for each other.
I've been searching for the best option of octaver and bass chorus (price and quality), I was between the oc5 and bass clone. Im so happy that I found the pitch fork because now I dont have to pay for those pedals, I have it on the pitch fork! Fuckin' great discovery, now i have a whammy, octaver, pitch shifter and a chorus all on the same pedal! The only bad thing i have to say is that i cant use all those simultaneously, but my songs doesnt have to haha Great fuckin pedal man
Did you have a high pitch sound when you used an adapter? When I used the 9volt battery it's quiet. It would be great to hear your thoughts on that issue. Thanks. :)
@@anthonykamm1007 I just use a one spot adapter. I never have issues with it. Does your bass have single coil pickups. I get buzz sometimes with my single coil pickups
Probably the only fuzz I would ever need. Except for the fuzz war, and the fuzz gun, and beetronics swarm,whoctahell, and octahive, and a foxx tone machine, and a brassmaster, and a prunes and custard, and a brown dog, and a copilot orbit, and 15 different muff variants. But other than that this is about all I would need hahaha... But seriously I need this... NOW.
I used yeeears ago the Big Muff Pi for bass and I loved the crunchy sound. I'm retired right now but I still playing my old songs sometimes and I was looking for something "similar" but cheaper without pretensions. It seems that this Donner Fuzz could do the job decently. Thanks for the great video!.
