@@keithclark8030 You're a very welcome and you asked a question on another video about dark mode It does not have dark mode I'll answer that question on that post when I find that comment again.
If you want a message to be read in a programme try using an M01 or M1(Optional Stop) in your code so the programme stops and waits for the user to read the message and hit the run button.
I have Vcarve pro. I want to use the wrapping function to make a simple spindle (musical flute with some fancy beads) I want to design the profile from scratch. Can't find tutorial for that.
I agree with your assessment of YT searches. You are probably one of three of my go-to for tutorials. I do believe it also has to do with the algorithm and not producing as many videos as the others who do come up. I love these multiple hour tutorials where I can follow along and learn, but maybe a quick 10-15 minute weekly video may help bump you up. Hope you continue doing this as a passion if not anything else. Keep up the great work and I'll subscribe from my multiple YT accounts.
Never used this tool until I was trying to draw multiple circles and trying to quickly distort them into tree rings. Anyway, it didn't really work the way I used it but sure it could be done. After watching this video and seeing all those inspirational signs, it's used soooo much more than we actually thought about. Great video as always. Keep it up.
With some creative editing this could be a SUPER tutorial. I'm struggling to follow along due to all the tangents, phone calls, etc. that could be edited out.
Do you recommend any specific types of wood for these types of projects that will be used with food? I wondered if there were any we should avoid as unsafe.
@@StubbsMom absolutely one thing and this should not even have to be said but avoid any treated lumber like pressure treated lumber or outdoor lumber or anything construction grade is off the table none of that. It really comes down to the finish we want a food safe finish It could be a butcher block finish a mineral oil and beeswax mixture anything that is food safe You will be treating these every so often with that finish to keep them in good condition. Woods that are open grain or visible pores are not optimal and should be avoided; they allow for bacteria growth. So oaks; Red oak, Ash, anything with that open style grain or porous grain. Woods to use it could be a select pine, for your lower priced items and then cherry, maple, walnut are always good choices.
@@SpindleTV Thanks, Laney! Yes, I figured as much for treated wood, but I wasn't sure if other woods might contain toxins. I appreciate the suggestions for woods to avoid and that are ok to use. I just used red oak for a non-food-related carve, and I did notice the open grain - I had V-carved small letters and a couple didn't come out the way I pictured, due to cutting on that grain and it tearing slightly. A good lesson in what to look out for!
Laney, In one of you older videos you had a cost sheet to help determine your price to sell items. I had it on my pc and it died and I cannot find it do you mind sharing the link or video it is in again. Love watching your stuff.
If you haven't figured it out yet. The reason that the centering of the circle on the line at 2:12:16 didn't work was you were not at 0,90 180 or 270 degrees from the center of the circle , If you would have drawn a line from the center of the circle to the point and then node edited and moved the line out following it's path it would have worked. Because you went straight up from the point you were no longer perpendicular to point. To simplify, if the top was 0 degrees and the right is 90 degrees, you wouldn't have drawn the line up from the 90 Degree point you would have drawn it to the right, so since the point you picked wasn't at 0 degrees, but you drew the line as if you were at 0 degrees. you were basically 2 degrees of the Y axis, you could have rotated the vector 2 degrees to get the points on the Y axis.
@@yvesbeaulieu7030 Go to the file menu and go to settings and look at your limits basically the red X and Y or Y and Z whichever Axis is showing in red this simply means that it is at your limit negative or positive limit so you would adjust your limits accordingly and the red doesn't affect anything it's just a visual identifier that you're outside of your set limits in the software so adjust the limits to your table if you're going to be using them if you're not going to enforce limits meaning you're not going to set limit switches or anything like that then you can just ignore the color
Your videos come up often in my you tube suggested videos, even though I don't watch too often -- they are really long.... But, these last two vids were really helpful. Thanks. Subscribed (to help the algorithm). ;-)
@@janetpersons8030 Yes under the live tab on the channel all 246 classes are there You should be able to just scroll through and watch anyone that you would like. Let me know if that answers your question Janet
Laney…. I can only find your videos when I go to your page, and click on the Live tab. I’m curious if you’re not in the RU-vid search because you have very few videos in your Videos tab, and your lessons are primarily found under your Live tab? IDK
@@timadams7274 yeah that's a good point I'm going to have to check with RU-vid to see if because it was a live video that's why they're not showing up in the listings
@@SpindleTV I don’t know anything how RU-vid works from the content creator side of RU-vid, but perhaps you could create some playlists from your live content you have, such as ‘sign making’, ‘3D Modeling’, ‘Holiday Ideas’, etc.. and pin these playlists into your videos tab. Perhaps that could be a quick down and dirty way to get you more visibility? With all of the live videos you currently have, moving all of them into your videos tab may not be feasible. I’ve always thought your channel was under-viewed for the level and knowledge of instruction you provide.
I could be mistaken about this, but even if it takes longer to turn out a box using the CNC it might be worth it in terms of being able to do other tasks like assembling a previously cut box(s) while the CNC does the grunt work cutting out joints and handles on the next run.
Just a few remarks, the Node mode is a simple shortcut key : the letter n And if you hold down the scissor you can use it as an eraser, and remove many lines in one stroke. kind regards, really nice explained video
Hello Laney, could you do an in-depth go on layers? I've watched quite a few and still have issues with layers. For instance, if you move vectors from layer 1 to let's say outside borders, I get other vectors that show. I've tried coping to another layer but have similar issues.
