We have chosen Mals over DS due to personality. We are now getting a second female. We have a dominant male pitbut that can't hang with the playtime. 1st mal is chill, and the second on is also chill. Both are rescued, so there is a dual purpose as well. Informative video. Having trained working dogs for years, YOU DO NOT NEED AN ELECTRONIC BARK COLLAR OR E-COLLAR, it's damn cruel and completely ruins your dog. Teach and train them correctly, don't abuse them!
Right now my dutchie is very alert of everything. He does not seem to be aggressive with other dogs. Only time will tell and i run with him every other day. He is 5 months old. He loves to play, and needs a lot of attention.
I proudly own a Dutch Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois, they are amazing dog's full of energy, and love to eat. Jack is my Dutch Shepherd, and Diane is my Belgian Malinois, they are really protective and full of love, I highly recommend getting one of either they are both great dogs, but only get one if you are willing to match their energy other then that wonderful animal's, and beautifully patterned. It looks like you have bucket seats. How did you replace the bench with bucket seats? I've been trying to replace mine, but can't find bucket seats for less than $1000 anywhere.
I am picking up my puppy in 6 weeks. I have not had a puppy in over `14 years and wondering how it was with them as puppies? Were they in the crate for the entire night, how did you keep them from waking you and any suggestions for them as puppies. I train so will be training daily and look forward to that.
I always had GSD's, even growing up, love that breed of dog, when my last boy pasted I told my wife I'm not getting another, so hard to see them go. After a few years I came home from work, and there was my wife with a pup, I said " I don't want another". he is a Dutch shepherd, love that lad to death, so funny and always wants to play, so glad I have a wife that knows...
I train Police K9 for more than 30 years now. I have had them all, German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois and the Dutch Shepherd. The Dutch Shepherd is and will ever be my favorite. Never mistaken a Belgian Malinois for a Dutch Shepherd when it comes to character because they are so many differences. Today, I have two Dutch Shepherds I train with, every day it is a blessing to work with them. And yes, you need to give them a "job", they will work with you and for you and they will do anything you ask them to do. When I'm not training with them, I go on many mountain bike rides or on very long walks. No matter what I do with them, it is always so much fun. The Dutch Shepherd is like the best version of the Shepherd cousins. It takes the best characteristics of all of them and blend them in to one.
get a e collar from dogtra or ecollartechnologies instead of these anti bark collars. They are very bad and can even explode! The e collars are like tens machines and dont harm your dog and theyre very good Tools if conditioned right. They have a tone and vibrate too and you can have a double dog system or finger click to always have it on you.
You still riding her or did ya get another? This is one good looking bike, I've never seen such a tail light assembly as you have buttoned on the bottom of the tail. I want to ask you, I had looked into this bike pretty deeply back in 2016 or so but I'd found a number of front wheel lock-ups. Several were on video where the front wheel seized up dropping the rider right away. I didn't keep looking for the reasons but now I wonder if it's a bearing type issue that would be better off simply changing it? Suspension & Tires are probably the two greatest mods anyone can do as the handling is everything. I've never seen an SV quite like this one.... I hope all is well & thanks b/c if I decide to skip a dual sport, this one is hard to beat !
I recently acquired a lost/abandoned dog and it has been suggested to me that he might be Dutch Shepherd, at least in part. I guess I’m gonna have to let go of $100 to do a DNA test. He does look very similar to the dogs in these videos, with very similar personality traits.
I travelled to the USA in June 2023. I found a harbor freight and bought one for 30 - 35 USD for the same stand. Zero issues. A solid purchase if you can find one. If ever required, I’d buy another one .👍🏼Today is July 1, 2024.
I have the sv650 but I disagree on the best mods you can make. (1 being best mod, 5 being worst) 1. Tires. 2. Rear suspension. (the stock front is actually very decent). 3. Flash Tune. (more HP and less jerkyness) 4. Brakes 5. Ergonomics (seat, foot pegs, handlebars) stock is still fine. Extras: Tail Tidy and exhaust.
when I lived in Colorado, I had a dog that was snake bit. I highly suggest snake proofing your dog if you live in an area where there are . It is something you never want to go . I currently have a six year old Dutchie. She is trained for personal protection and we walk 1 1/2 hours a day. Last year she blew out her knee while retrieving. Apparently it is a shepherd genetic issue.
And the malinois comes from mechelen (malinois in french) in Belgium ( de mechelse herder) there is a dutch sheppard but its a different breed got a dutch sheppard . ( de Hollandse herder) but this one shows more of the german sheppard than the malinois allthough it could be a crossbreed. What i see here is a malinois pure bred with a slightly tigershade color
How do they do in the heat?? Long walks or runs for them? I have a mix breed of Dutch GS, Chow, Red Mountain Cur. Looking for ways to stimulate his mind. He's a great dog!!!
Thank you for posting this….(though its 3 years old….lol 😊). Been wanting to put on narrower tires for my 91 land cruiser, however local tire shop did not have any at the time….I ended up getting a set of Cooper’s 295/75R16 Discover AT3 XL….they have been just fine for the most part…..but I have always wanting something a little narrow and taller….seems these Toyo would fit the bill….I like that the tires are much lighter than the coopers and less friction on the ground….Again, thank you for posting this…have a great week from Montana!
The biggest concern for me is their energy levels. I have a yard that is a couple acres large and I live out in the country, so I can go walking in the woods with the dog every other day. The dog would spend most of the day outside, except for certain weather conditions that may be too extreme. I also have a dog that hunts rabbits, so some hunting every now and then. Based on this single video I think a Dutch Shepherd wouldn't be too bad of an option.
Recently acquired my first Dutch Shepard male (4months old) and he has been wonderful so far. I am very comfortable raising and training working line German Shepards and still have 2 of them. The Dutch Shepard is definitely different from a German Shepard and it has been interesting to see the differences and how they interact with one another. Great videos and very informative.
Took in a 2 yr old female that already had pups at 1 Rescue from breeder). I do elderly English Bulldog rescue for nearly 20 yrs..... my first ever puppy I love her!! She is soooo very gentle with the elderly too!! I never knew a dog could be so smart! She learned English in 1 day! She is learning from my Service American Bulldog how to behave on walk and in public and just recently learned how to alert me when alarm/buzzer/bell/knock happens... I did not start teaching her yet, but service dog showed her the rope. Jab mom with nose and take her to the sound
Have you had any issues with grinding noise/vibrations when letting off the gas pedal? I believe it has to do with the drive shaft. My reg cab just started doing this in 4th/ 5th gear mostly.
Yes, I added grease at all the fittings, it helped but didn’t fix it. I recently put a dual transfer case in so I needed a shorter rear drive shaft. I put in a double cardon shaft, it fixed the vibration. I also shimmed the rear axel will a 5 degree shim. I would first research drive shaft angles to see how much of a shim you need, if that doesn’t fix it then a double cardon shaft probably will.
