This video showed my problem. The plumb bob I bought is defective in that it only has a hole on the top! There is no other hole on the side! I'll try to return it in exchange for another one, and I'll be sure to check it for a side hole too! Thanks!!!

You don't need to use Benzene/Carcinogen laced Brake Cleaner with a non toxic CLP- Froglube makes their own non-toxic degreaser now. Just fill a tuperware container with their degreaser and soak the slide, spring, and barrel for 10 to 15 mins before brush scrubbing them in the solution and its super clean. The frame and frame components can be wiped clean by hand with a micro fiber rag moistened with degreaser. Then you apply FrogLube and you've got a truly non toxic CLP and degreaser combo instead of adding a known carcinogen(Benzene) on your gun from the brake cleaner and defeating the purpose of the Froglube's bio-safe formula.

So, mine only does it with one specific magazine. I have 2 brand new mags and a bunch of older ones. One of the new ones sends the slide into battery...none of the others do this. I also don't have to slam it I can insert it in a normal manor, and it instantly and consistently sends the slide forward. I like it I compete and would like them all to do it. on visual inspection it appears identical to the other mags.... I'm going to take a caliper to it and measure some dimensions. any ideas? I also believe it only does so when it has a round in it IDK?

@MyBigThing2010
@MyBigThing2010 11 месяцев назад
Its just a "overhand knot" (or "stopper knot") Make a loop at the end of the string and pull the tag end through. That's it. If you need the knot bigger, do it again over the knot that you just made. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SwdJ5op25SM.htmlsi=mfdm0D-SGD2xmA-1

Attitude Wasn't primarily focused on those that don't know....I was more angered at the "how to videos" I found out there showing people how to do it wrong.... that's what irritated me enough to make a video... because I didn't want guys who don't know how to be doing it wrong and defeating the whole point of the use of the tool in the first place.

@@MyBigThing2010I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way. Like, it’s fine if you don’t know how. You have to either understand the tool, or learn it somewhere. The problem is when people make videos to teach people how to do something wrong when they don’t understand what they are teaching people. It drives me absolutely insane. I’m a machinist, and I was taught very early on that if you don’t know what you’re talking about, don’t fucking talk.

I feel like this is a feature, basically a better version of slide lock which not only auto-locks but also auto-loads... Not hard to hit the slide stop yourself, but it's really nice to have it be auto
@MyBigThing2010
@MyBigThing2010 2 года назад
I wouldn't call it a "feature" ....cuz it's not reliable nor intended by the manufacturer. More of a "benefit" IF it happens to happen....especially if in a high stress situation....where it is most likely to occur as your handling should, during an event, be extremely firm and movements "well intentioned." But you should be ready to manually drop the slide AT ALL TIMES, especially during an engagement! I just wanted to make everyone aware that it is not a defect and that it's something that can and does happen....and not to freak out and start hunting down warranty service or gun Smith to fix something that isn't broken....wasting everyone's time and potentially going unarmed for a period of time if it's their only firearm and it's out for service for nothing. Thanks for watching.

Only 1600 rounds through my Gen 5 19 and I’ve already worn out the slide stop. Thanks for posting. I’ll be giving the oem extended slide stop a try soon. For now the worn part doesn’t malfunction just doesn’t lock the slide on the last round every like 3rd magazine and sometimes the slide slams home if I insert a full magazine hard enough. Since it is my carry gun I will replace the part so I know when I am on my last round if need be. Doesn’t bother me at the range though it is annoying to be honest. Might even install the Glock oem extended mag release as well and have 2 under the radar oem upgrades, while fixing the slide lock issue I have for the time being until I wear out the new one lol. Thanks for the video!

They sell felt pelletts with gun cleaner on them Put one in the chamber and shoot it out. I usually shoot two of them one after the other. Cleans the bore right out, and it's quick and easy. The usual cleanup is like any other gun after you do that.

Agreed except peanut butter will go rancid if not stored properly (canned) or not cycled in and out of your supply. So it's not necessarily a recommendation from me for preps even though I go through peanut butter like water here.

I noticed that if the magazine is not full it jams if I slam a mag too hard. But fully loaded gen 5 19 does this and I found it accidentally. Kinda fun but only works in my gun fully loaded mags.
@MyBigThing2010
@MyBigThing2010 2 года назад
It will only happen on fully loaded or overloaded mags. Malfunctions with a hard inserted half loaded mag is also fairly standard and should be expected. If your running partially loaded mags for training just be aware and don't send it home so hard. Again... it's physics.... your motion is exerting forces on the spring and cardriges causing them to shift around..... that's what causes the malfunction. With a fully loaded mag the spring and cartridges have no where to jostle so it's more of a uniform piece with all the moving parts locked tightly together.
