I've have the pleasure of knowing Bill H. for a number of years, and I meet him for dinner occasionally with other members of the Toronto Society of Model Engineers. Bill is truly a craftsman's craftsman and his models are a great inspiration to others to do likewise. Very difficult to achieve but, a SLOW running model, of whatever workmanship, is a joy to behold. w
Great project! Years ago you posted on your blog about building "Amabelle", a live steam locomotive by Bill Van Brocklin. Did you finish it? Do you have a RU-vid of it?

I didn't ask why they were switching the cars, was trying to stay out of the way. Clearly one had been restored, but yeah, the other two need some TLC.
I don't think I'd like to ride one of those side-saddle; seems a wee bit dangerous to me. It looks like they're running at least two different gauges of track.
We saw this same train flying through Shirley too. It was August 13th, train was 22k and it had been at the Leominster station to have a live recrew by an AY crew. It was flying when it came past Shirley.
Hi Mike, I'm a huge fan of Bills work. Many thanks for posting this video. Bill is in my opinion an unbelievable Craftsman. I'm shocked that with 463 views so far there's only 2 likes. I'm not sure if people understand how small these engines are, or how tough it is to make an engine that small operate this smoothly.
