Hi Justin, If you have a steep slope what will you do to stop weeds back? I am in Italy with 4 seasons, I am looking to place a cloth to stop weeds but would prefer mulch but in my region, it is difficult to find or costly. I intend to plan plants that expand on the ground like thyme, rosemary, lavender ,.. and minimise maintenance . the bottom of the slop is flat and not sure what to do to maintain it free of weeds ? any suggestions be greatly appreciated , thanks a Francois
Thanks for the tips. Two summers ago I got my first feeder, and I fell in love! They are beautiful and so much fun to watch. It’s amazing how they are so smart and curious, they’ll fly right up to you and just hover in midair, checking you out. One of my favorite things to do is to set up my dslr camera on a tripod, zoom in and let it run on video and I walk away. I can catch some amazing shots, I’ll even set up my phone to take slow motion video, too. I could watch for hours, lol, they’re so fascinating.

If your new here, watch this video a 2nd 3rd or possibly 4th time. There’s a lot of information that will be missed if you only watch this one time lol! Thanks!
My Grandfather was a Master Sergent, in the US Air Force command, He came back to his home to make a an amazing crop of mix of (Steward & Mohawk species pecans that he ran for many years) Sadly he passed away about 2008'sh mayb. They turned that pecan farm (which should of been inherited to my mother and such (They moved from their shortly b4 his death tho and sold it, (too a guy who claimed to be his long lost sun (who knows)) Either way He was a great man! Could of been running a Pecan farm myself if thing were diff, either way....They ruined the land and f'd my fam. Such is the way I guess...
Thank you so much for all the tips. Was given an old planter box and when trying to plant some wild flowers found some pecans. Didn't think much of it and after a few weeks of thinking my flowers were growing I just found out I have 29 pecan trees growing 😅
I followed your process this winter and now I have 27 trees from 38 nuts! Pretty good I think, my investment so far about $30.00 dollars for potting soil and planters. I would like to know if you protect the new trees during their 1st winter?
I’m just getting into planting. I don’t understand completely how to transfer. In the beginning your saying each peace may produce 4 roots. Then you say you transfer to one gallon for one plant then maybe 3 in a larger pot. How do you split the original root with four roots into one? Or three? I don’t understand .
Each rhizomes can make 3-4 shoots (stems that grow the leaves) but technically each rhizome piece like I show in the video makes one plant. I start them all in small pots then once they have sprouted well I put 2-3 small plants in a 3 gallon container
I did say that in the video that grafted is faster… I also said these can be grafted. This is just showing how they are grown from seed and they are a fun project. If you want to get grafted and save time it is definitely an option as well
Loved your video. We ordered our first bag of tubers for planting. They were kept in the garage for a week or two, and when they were brought out for planting, most of the tubers had what looks like a mold on parts of the tubers. Should we cut off the mold? The tubers are sprouting and some of the tips of the sprouts have black on them. I don’t know if that makes the whole tuber bad or not. The tubers seem pretty large to me. Thank you for your videos. We hope to learn a lot and become good gardeners! And thank you in advance for your answer! Marshall
Hi there, your videos are very interesting, well now, about almost 7 year ago I planted a Pecan Tree, (Southern Pecan Tree) on my backyard, since it haven't produce, I trying to investigate why. Is there any suggestion that you can given me about it. I will appreciated. (and by the way, he is the only pecan tree, most of my neighbors they have Oak Tree.)
Pecan trees are very slow maturing. If it was an ungrafted seedling it can take 15-20 years before it will produce. If it is grafted it could be a pollination issue not having any other trees around
