Here is something I wanted to talk about: The Map Version is a cool addition to the STEM System, but it is also the most confusing, and there are occasionally anomalies. So how does the Map Version System work? If you open your map, one thing you’ll notice most of the time is that the Theme is much calmer with less instruments. But if you look further, you’ll also notice it contains the most audible instruments in the Theme, most noticeably, the Mount Themes (Excluding Rifts and Ruptures). This works similarly to Battle Themes and Free Roam Ambient Themes. And if you listen closely, you’ll pick up that some instruments appear quieter than the others. We’ve seen this plenty of times but there’s one thing I need to add. There are two types of Quiet instruments, the one that is extremely quiet, and the one that is almost the same Volume as the unaffected instruments but lower. Examples of this mix are: Dawn Eases Night, Eyes Open, The Corner of Your Eye, No Footfalls to Follow, Machine Battle Theme 16 and Bile and Bite. But what does this mean? This is now related to the Focus Mix. The Focus Mix usually makes certain Map Version instruments to be quieter. This is not the case for Free Roam Ambient Themes, and Mount Themes have almost no effect. It’s not like it’s unaffected, you can still find that the instruments are a bit quieter, but it’s not as how the Battle Themes work, and what happens is that additional instruments join the fray. But back to Battle and Quest Themes: Again, you’ll notice they are much quieter, but you’ll may also notice that the extremely quiet instruments will have its volume reduced even more than others, and the instruments that are almost the same volume as the unaffected instruments will actually disappear! This is the case for: Bile and Bite (Mostly), The Corner of Your Eye, Dawn Eases Night, The Trail We Leave Behind, Machine Battle Theme 16, Shoulders of Giants. But wait! Machine Battle Theme 2 and Built to Kill instruments are unaffected despite having nearly the same volume as the unaffected instruments. It’s never easy is it? Built to Kill is a different case. Some Focus Mix will completely ignore the Map Version instruments if it satisfies the following conditions: 1. Has no quiet instruments 2. Is the same volume as the Main Version (Because the Map Version automatically shifts the volume making it lower) This is true for No Delve Without Danger, Steel Snare???, Ruin’s Rise and Starlight Rise. Built to Kill satisfies neither of these, so it makes no sense why it’s the case for this Theme. My guess is this has something to do with the Broken Search Mode System, but it’s hard to say for sure. Steel Snare is also the same case, that’s why I was confused when I realized that. Machine Battle Theme 2 instruments functions the same as most other Battle Themes. But the Quiet instruments don’t disappear at all. This is one of the anomalies I was talking about. Another thing to add: Some Themes have some Search Mode instruments in the Map Version. The System completely ignores it as it is still part of the Main Version instead of the Map Version, which is noticed by its Volume. Examples include: Machine Battle Theme 8, 11 and Blade on Blade. This also applies to Focus Map Versions, like Search and Destroy, Underwater Burrower Theme, and every single Underwater, Free Roam Ambient and Mount Themes. My guess is that the instruments from the Battle Themes in the A Promise to Uphold Connection are treated as Stealth Version instruments, but it’s hard to say for sure.
I’ll give you the Bad News first: I wasn’t able to do a successful cover on this Theme as I’ll need to get to the Burning Shores to do so, and it plays near the Burrower, so there’s a likelihood that the other Theme is not a Unique Theme for them. In addition, near Snapmaws it is difficult to retrieve. Also, there’s no Good News. Except that the Theme thankfully does exist and is there. Just not in its full Glory. Edit: Search and Destroy is up now (Sharpened Instinct is another day), I’ve gotten the Search Mode, Focus Mix and Map Version too. So I’ll upload them tomorrow along with Sharpened Instinct. However, I realized there’s actually no need to do a Cover on this Theme, since the OST Version is preferable due to the Vocals and additional Violins and Viola. Therefore the Starting Stinger is much more audible compared to the In-game Version. You’ll notice that the Starting Stinger kicks in at any random time compared to other Battles Themes which is weird since no other Theme (including the Burrower Theme) has this issue. While you’re still here, with Sharpened Instinct on the way, which Theme is next? •Force Multiplication •HZD Machine Battle Theme 2 •HFW Machine Battle Theme 2 (High Quality) •Steel the Mind •Machine Battle Theme 17 •HZD Machine Battle Theme 3 •The Pride of the Arena •Ride the Edge •Drowned and Gone •Marvels Below •Eyes Open (High Quality) •Mount Theme (Where None Should Tread) •Sudden Surge •The Edge of Battle •Claws in the Hollow •Storm on the Rise •Blade on Blade •HFW Machine Battle Theme 8 •Machine Battle Theme 11 •Underwater Burrower Theme (It’s certainly possible) •Coiled Strike •Built to Kill •Far From Rest •Shoulders of Giants •HFW Machine Battle Theme 4
Is there a specific reason why this Theme has two intros layered on each other??? Even The Edge of Battle or No Delve Without Danger didn’t suffer from this. So why is this Theme so weird??
I remember paying no attention to were I was then I heard this playing even started tapping my foot to the beat till I turn around and saw this thing charging up within that instant I found my favorite machine.
Another fun fact: The ‘additional’ instruments you hear from the Search Mode are actually present in the Main Version, but they are very, very quiet, almost like a Focus Version.
Fun Fact: This is the exact same Theme as the Theme from HZD (Technically), but obviously with some additional instruments and how the separate parts of the Theme come in.
Just a few things: Once the Decima Explorer has updated, can you extract the following Merchant Versions from the Game Files? •Shoulders of Giants •Primal Steel •Bile and Bite I’m really sorry for requesting this as I would have done these Myself, but it is impossible to get them and I really want them. 😢 Also, what do you think of my new Thumbnails? I used the font space to edit the Complete Edition poster by highlighting the Names of the Themes in the Video for the Covers I did.
Oddly fitting for Invincible, believe it or not. Or should I say, fitting when it comes to Invincible Compendium 3. During my two long reading sessions of the book, I played this song on loop, and now I associate this more with Invincible than I do Horizon.
Hey uh, I've been kind of addicted to "built to kill," and I was wondering if you'd consider combining ALL of the variations that exist. I don't know how you could that without blowing out our ears, wait, do that. MAKE US DEAF. Or not-
So far: The Stand of the Sentinels - This one came out well I guess The Stillsands - The Starting Stinger is a bit blippy, I’m really thinking of doing a better one as it’s my favorite Battle Theme, but Where the Wanderer Goes makes that impossible. I really wish it was in the Solace Beneath the Stars Connection like it was before but, Guerrilla. Sudden Surge - Not done yet Machine Battle Theme 4 - Difficulty Level: 100000000% Shoulders of Giants - Still working on it The Gate of the Vanquished - Came out good. Steel the Mind - Still on it Machine Battle Theme 8 - I can’t think of a name honestly The Promontory - For a Theme that I grabbed extremely early, it came out good. The Edge of Battle - Need to grab another one because the Version I have has a blip at the Ending Stinger. Machine Battle Theme 11 - Still thinking of a Name for this as well, but the Ending Stinger makes it impossible to get. MU - This came out surprisingly well, the transition from the Search Mode to the Main Version came out great. The Roots That Bind - This came out amazing as well, it’s a shame I couldn’t use the Ending Stinger of the Tracker Burrower Theme. Lofty Ambitions - Considering to get this one day. Rust and Risk - If I hadn’t gone back to the start, then this Theme could have came out way worse with my original plan. Claws in the Hollow (Lightweight) - I genuinely didn’t notice how the Ending Stinger smoothly came in with the end of the loop when I played this on my Phone. CHI - Same approach as MU, came out good as well. Sharpened Instinct - Not done yet, but I did upload the Version from the Wilds, the way I was able to end the Theme gave me an idea: I’ll exactly the same thing from Machine Battle Theme 12 and 17. No Delve Without Danger - This required constant Reloads and Extreme Precision and Accuracy to hit the nail on the ‘Search Mode’ Version. Glad I got it because I’d rather fight 5 Apex Slaughterspines simultaneously than do that again. Claws in the Hollow - Not done yet Blade on Blade - I keep forgetting to get this one Storm on the Rise - Considering doing this one day Ruin’s Rise - I really don’t want to do this. It will take some editing which I can’t do at the moment. Point of No Return - This will take an eternity to Perfect. Entombed - Already done Above and Below - There’s no way I can do this lol. Primal Steel - OST Version is better anyways Far From Rest - Same as The Edge of Battle, will perfect it soon. Guardian of the Deep - It’s not worth, especially since the OST Version is 2 times better. Coiled Strike - Working on it Contingency 13-F - This will take forever. Built to Kill - Not there yet Bile and Bite - Done Ride the Edge - Will take a while The Pride of the Arena - Difficulty Level: 100000000000000000000000% Search and Destroy - Machine Battle Theme 4 and The Pride of the Arena are one thing. But this Theme is *impossible* Underwater Burrower Theme - Map Version is surprisingly good, will mix it with the Main Version, as soon as I can get the *Main* Version that is.
My only wish is that we can download Mods to spawn a Thunderjaw next to the Merchant near the Dreadwing site so we can get the Merchant Version of this Theme. That’s all I ask for. 😭😭😭
Spirit’s Freed - Spirits Released (Part 5 - The Frozen Wilds) - The Flight Notice how Out From Thunder is extremely similar to Colossal with some of Storm on the Rise?
Thank! I don't know why i put Spirit's Freed lol. Yeah i noticed that too when i was listening to Out From Thunder. It's also one of my favourite tracks from the DLC.
I will never forget my first time fighting this monster. I absolutely loved the fireclaw design the moment i saw it despite it preceeding to grind my face into the ground. Kinda bummed they didn't carry over this theme into hfw it really sold the terror of these technological terrors
A Steady Breath (feat. Julie Elven) (Part 1/3 - The Isles of Spires/The Forbidden Wilds) - Joris de Man To Embrace His Light (Part 8 - To the Burning Shores) - Niels van der Leest
Defense Fails: Overrun (Part 4 - Secrets of the Earth) - The Flight Transmission: Countdown to Zero (Part 4 - Secrets of the Earth) - The Flight Epilogue: Homecoming (feat. Julie Elven) (Part 1 - Motherland) - Joris de Man
