What a fun pure video! Wish I’d found this way sooner since I love playing with these birds, but all your links are invalid and socials seem inactive. Ah well, still cool to see someone trying something unique and really showing off how versatile this deck is! :)
Hey there ! Yes I’ve been good just busy sadly but yes I can do that! If you have discord or Twitter that’s the best way to reach me directly and I can message you from there. Send your user on either of those or your contact info elsewhere so I can send
What I like about Raidraptors is thay they reward you for playing pure. Fuzzy Lanius and Raidraptor - Call may lock you into the archetype but they are really good extenders. There are also a lot of Raidraptor cards from the anime that haven't been released in the OCG/TCG yet (personally I've been waiting for Raidraptor - Retrofit Lanius) so I'm hoping Konami include them in this year's Animation Chronicles/Monstrous Revenge pack.
This is really well made and informative. I'm going to build a irl semi pure raidraptor deck (gonna add zephyros the elite and maybe an ash) and smoke my buddy with it. Got any more cards I could use that would help?
As an enjoyer of blackwings myself, this pleases me. I have a few raidraptors in my deck but I tried to keep it mostly blackwings. I also have Waking the Dragon so I can either summon Final Mathmech Sigma, a second Full Armor Master or Ultimate Falcon
im more of a kali yuga fan myself. love watching people confusingly check their cards and wonder why they cant activate effects when i PK rank up into Kali Yuga ASAP on their turn. pretty toxic
@@matricy nothing beats the joy of breaking out the full armor master blackwing but unfortunately the meta doesn't like letting other people have fun. I genuinely miss when tri-brigage zoodiac was the best deck. It was good but it was also HONEST
Hey there, for this deck no because I've been playing with a primarily raidraptor engine lately so I haven't worked much on the blackwing/RR version of the deck. That being said in general I try to stick to more anime style decks so I try to avoid cards/extra deck monsters out of the archetype. However, when i'm trying to climb i def throw in maxx c and ash and stuff. If you would like the most up to date and competitive versions of the blackwing raidraptor combo i would point you to the youtube channels SilentBW and KanakGaming. They fully min max the decks without setting archetypal restrictions like I tend to do :) If you like my style of deck building instead though, this is still the latest version of this one and I have other raidraptor focused ones on the channel.
Thanks so much!!! I have been trying to cultivate a raidraptors deck of my own atm but without any help and it just wouldn't click and watching this vid has rly helped me see how to use it to its fullist! thanks again!😁
Sorry for being a bit late to the punch here, but I wanted to ask about Raptor's Gust: you said in this video to avoid it, but used two copies in your gameplay video. Do you mind explaining why you no longer consider it to be good please? Thanks!
No worries man. Yeah so I’ve tried pretty much every raidraptor card. The reason I don’t like this one is because I find it to be a bit slow and it takes up valuable space in the deck. Pure raidraptors have to go second since they don’t make any negate monsters and I personally think the goal is to try to otk your opponent on turn two. With all that in mind traps are a bit too slow for this approach. They also take up what I consider valuable space because since so many opponents have their boards end on many interruptions you need to play as many combo pieces / extenders as possible to get your combo through. Raidraptors are very prone to interruption so you need to run as many resources as possible that help allow your combos to go through and traps in general take up that space.
I had this video on my "watch later" list. My comment for another video wound up on this one and it wasn't the most respectful so I deleted it. You've got good content.
I recently created a 98% pure raid raptor deck and I live playing it it’s probably the best deck I have besides d/d/d not sure, but yea it’s really fun just full boarding my opponent and taking away everything if they don’t have negates. I always love winning when they pay a whole bunch of life points to summon these big monsters just for me to xyz 1 monster destroy there monster and they die to effect damage haha.( I have raiders knight and arc rebellion and raiders wing in my deck and the trap card there really powerful especially when u raiders night into a rank 5 destroy one opponents card then make arsenal with skip force and go from there)
@@matricy it is I love being able to beat meta decks when they can only negate one card but it’s raidraptors so I have so much cards to activate and I’ve only bricked twice so far it happens when I pull one monsters and then all rank up cards other then that it’s always a full combo
A pure raidraptor deck can get you to platinum but I dont think it can get you to diamond. Sadly raidraptor's suffer too hard from interruptions :( Also sharp lanius is an ok card I would say you could make it work if you want but I tend not to use it because I find it slow. This deck is already on the slower side and has the huge weakness of being very reliant on your normal summon. Sharp lanius has a good effect but it has to be normal summoned (unlike other RR's who are special summoned) and his second effect can only be used if he attacks successfully which is pretty slow and situational. For raptor's gust, I find more often than not your cards are not getting killed by the opponent's backrow but rather your opponents monster effects. Space is limited in this deck and a counter trap is a slow option. I tend to focus more on pieces that help me get my combo off. A better counter trap would be Raidraptor's Phantom Knights Claw because it negates monster effects and is still on theme with the deck. But i would say neither is really needed.
@@matricy Oh wow I never thought RR sharp would be that slow. I was just considering on that first effect; I might just put it to one if I pull a shiny one. I love the card art (guilty as can be😓) Also yea I agree with you on gust as well I just thought u would keep it IN CASE the duel might go for the long run or bc it can negate and cause you said it’s the only one besides the other trap u said can do it. I figured it might clutch due to the fact in case YOU DO end up going first (bc u said this deck should go 2nd) and it negates if you have a raid raptor on board. But yea I also love the card art I might run one if I get a shiny or 3 infinites. So many options bro…
@@natsusalamander2396 I 100% support running a card solely based on liking the card art! so if you wanna run gust of sharp for either of those reasons I would do it. The point of the game is to have fun :) but yeah neither card is bad it's just that with off meta builds you really have to try to min max the deck and u usually have little room to do so.
@@matricy Thx bro looking fwd to new videos. I’ve nevered imagined playing Raidraptors. I guess playing a little bit of Time Thief and Phantom knights (which I didn’t consider either) and with me following masterduelmeta I slowly ran into RR so yea I was always intimidated playing the deck but it’s really not that difficult.
@@matricy Also btw if I do end up in platinum ladder I might change it up and add evilswarm in the extra deck. Hopefully it can push me to diamond if I add negates as well, I’m doing this thing where I’m doing Xyzs on my mobile and synchros on my console, already made a badass speedroid deck and gonna make some black wings next on console. Links and fusions are gonna be on both devices but yea Xyzs are my favorite which is why I want it only on my mobile device 🔥 🔥🔥
This video is like a college homework. But dont get wrong, is because the presentation, But the content is really COOL and you explained everything very well
Lmfao weirdly enough that makes me happy. The industry I work in I’ve always thought about transitioning into academia to be a professor so looks like my skills will translate well 😂🤓
Haha definitely that’s the most common way to play the deck. I have one video on my channel that may be more your speed that has a blackwing/raidraptor build! Check that out and for the absolute most competitive versions of the deck you will have to lean more into blackwings and I recommend the channels kanakgaming and silent bw
Yeahhh that’s on me 😅 I found a better small world bridge after this that’s a blackwing. Blackwing aurora the northern lights! That can replace destrudo then it’ll be all blackwings !
I don't play pure just because it can suffer pretty bad otherwise from the experience i had playing master duel lmao. Afterwards, I decided to run 1x Apex Avian & 1x Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty because when you don't play off of Strangle Lanius in a turn - once you dump Wise Strix you can summon Apex Avian at the end of the turn, giving a free omni negate which bounces back to field in each end phase.
Oh yeah for sure this deck suffers heavily in it’s pure form. But a man can dream 😅 I like the twist you added with avian though, I’ll keep that in mind
Thank you for this video. I love Raidraptor since I watched the anime Arc-V, but sometimes I don't know what combo to do with Raidraptor and have left the games for a few months . Your video just make me play the game again using the same deck. Thank you for that
Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it! The deck is mostly the same throughout the duels and in the end when I showcase it, except for a few changes along the way. For the most up to date version of the deck list I have a link in the description :)
Raidraptors have a lot of potential imo. Their boss monsters are ruthless and they can summon like crazy and keep up with the speed other meta decks have. Like you said, the worst part is they have very little interruption/negation outside of their archetypal backrow negate, Raptor's Gust. Pure RRs need a negation card along the lines of Ash so they have a far greater chance at being competitive. If you're really serious about being as pure as possible with the deck, I think this build is probably best. However, if it were me, I'd put pride aside and throw in a couple Radians and Ash, along with a Lightning Storm. But then again, I have a lot of ideas that sound great on paper, but may not work as well in practice. Like for example: Lair of Darkness and RRs. Lair would allow you to tribute opponents monsters for effects and give you bodies, and if you tossed in select virus cards, you could use opponents monsters to take their board apart since the tribute is cost, not effect.
Yeah sadly the deck doesn’t have enough archetypal support to stand on their own in the current meta. I have another version of this deck which has meta cards mixed in. This version is the one I like to run for fun the most tho!
I respect you for using Mako's theme from DL. It is truly one of the best themes ever in a mobile game and it makes me sad that you don't get to hear it when you play as Mako.
