Greetings from Melbourne. It's good to see that you're back walking again. I find your videos very watchable. Last June, I walked the Two Moors Way, and I remembered to look for the turn-off on Dartmoor just as you suggested on your video. I'm returning to England next June to walk the pilgrim way from Bury St Edmunds to Walsingham.

DUUUUUUUDE!!! You're back!!! Not blowing smoke but it's really good to see you up and about. Hoping all is well with you and yours. You missed my round at the crows nest though... ... Next time 😉
amazing video! currently planning to start the path, so I would be very interested in the what3word list & recommendations on how to do prior research on good wild camping spots :) Thanks!
What is your total pack weight? Also how many miles you do roughly per day? Any tips for foot care? Your channel has inspired me to do the coast to coast too!! Love it
Hiya! I love your video. I'm Geena - a trainee journalist at City, University of London. I'm doing a final project on R2R and I was wondering if it'd be possible to use about 30 seconds of your footage (with proper crediting of course)!
Love your videos, thank you :) would you say there are many wild camping opportunities between Dartmouth and Brixham? Just incase I don’t make it all the way to my 🏕️😂 thank you ..
Just to let you know i think that youre supposed to take the rubber end off your pole and then the tip sits in the eyelet. You can then pull the bathtub floor out nicely then 👍
Double pegging 🤣🍆🍆 Oi Oi! Aaanyway - how you doin' John? Hope the winter and its [bleddy] storm have been good to you. Any plans afoot? We're walking round the Isle of Wight in a few weeks. Looking forward to that. Cheers dude! Jack
Really useful and informative video! What tent were you using? My partner and I are planning to do two weeks wild camping along the swcp in june, and I need to buy a new tent but haven't decided which one to buy yet. We're also doing it on a bit of a budget so I don't want to be spending loads on a mega fancy tent, just one that does the job and is reasonably lightweight. Cheers!
Brilliant advice. I could listen to your words of wisdom all day. 😊 just subbed. Off doing the shropshire way in May, so will watch other vids of yours for more tips. Especially in preparations for long thru hikes.
That's it John - you've inspired me (yet again!) - we did the latter part of the 2 moors last weekend. Knee tremblers? Yep we had those! And it's pretty steep too! 🤣 I'll be doing the full 2 moors later in the spring. Thanks for the ear worm mate! You on Dartmoor next weekend 24th Feb? Cheers, Jack
I'm about your age I'm preparing to do what you did only not all in one go you have inspired me . Any chance of any advice on your setup you carried equipment? Thanks for sharing love your vids
Fanx for watching Glad I inspired you. I have done videos of what I use and carry on my walks. Think they’re titled “what’s in the bag” Hope that helps 😃😎
Hey John, happy new year to you! I hope & turst all is well with you & yours. Gotta say, thanks again for the video(s) - rewatched this ahead of our annual pilgrimage up to North Devon, so we'll be doing a few decent stomps over Exmoor to Lynmouth. Pints in the Rising Sun. Hell yeah! Been a while buddy. I hope all is good with you. Cheers Jack
Hi Jay. Only just picked up this short series posting, not sure why I do not get notifications so am watching this a little after you posted it. Good to see you on the trail, the SWCP is hard to beat, once you have it system the experience is life changing. I had noted that you have not posted so much in 2023 as 2022, hope that you are on the mend, that you will be able to get more and we hear and see more from you in 2024.
Hi, how many times have you been moved on when wild camping? I have wildcamped a fair bit and never had an issue and I don’t think I am the most careful about where I camp
aaaaand we're back. Bloody hell John - that was a wonderful walk! Thought about your camp as we were up on the Caradon with plenty of snow about. It was stunning. Hoping all is well with you man! Thanks so much for planting that seed in our heads - again, a Kernow corner we don't know. I tell you what though, we will defo come back. Kind of expected to see you on Saturday, such a beautiful day. Nice pint in the Crow's Nest to finish off the walk before the mining district. Also took in a few stomps around Calstock along the Tamar which I can highly recommend. Cannot thank you enough mate. Truly! Cheers Jack
Tick remover tool, tweezers and nail clippers are also good to add to your first aid kit and the they are multi use. Thanks for reminding me about tea tree oil!
What an adventure! I'm in my 50s and going wild camping for the first time next spring and the lanshan is definitely in the running for which tent I buy. Did you have to seam seal the guy out points? I notice you pitched quite close to the path on a few occasions, did you have any trouble with other people by doing this?
Squeeeek - Inspirational John - thanks for this: a corner of Kernow of which I have little knowledge! So almost a year after you shot this, we'll be doing a decent round from Minions up Cheeswring, round Siblyback to Golitha, then down to St. Cleer via King Doniert's stone, then back to Minions via Caradon pit world, where you pitch here after a pint in the Crow's Nest, then back up the railway up to Minions - about 15 miles. Proper excited! Honestly - without your sharing these vids, I would never have known, so thanks again buddy! Jack
