None of those apartments are worth $1.000.000. That is ridiculous they are old fixtures. they need a lot of work 😮 I'm totally sure you can find a lot better for the money to do the work you're self.
@@justinmartineznyc Franklin squares of very family oriented neighborhood with great schools and probably the most white county that can get you into Manhattan and less than one hour
Lucky Larry Silverstein took over the twin towers and in the end the towers were destroyed and he made a "killing" on the insurance payout. I recall the judge overseeing the insurance case was a member of same synagogue that little Larry went to. How very interesting indeed.
You have a gift for making a dump appear like a gem with the way you speak and your presentation. Like if I had been touring the Staten Island house on my own I would have been like… this place needs to be torn town or completely gutted but bravo you made me actually consider it 😅
Haha! Thanks for watching! Honestly, I thought the same when I first got to the house. I asked my colleague questions about the price and why there was so much demand, and it made sense after that.
SUMMARY: Practically NOTHING, but maintenance cost is still approx. 4.000 dollar/month and Cathy Hockul who feed the streets with more criminal immigrants daily...NO THANKS!
Ppl from riverdale like to pretend they don’t live in the Bronx. They’d never say I live in the da bx. I live in riverdale. Good luck getting home to riverdale with all that traffic! 😂
Definitely Astoria or Riverdale, which by the way is almost not really the Bronx. Forget about Manhattan... looking into an airshaft and $3700 a month maintenance??? No laundry in your own apartment??? You must really want to live in Manhattan to put up with that. Not a fan of most of Brooklyn, especially that deep in. Staten Island, unless you are somewhere near beautiful Snug Harbor is probably mind-numbingly boring.
I grew up in this type of house in SI. We all essentially had the same house and our parents paid off their mortgages with the tenant rent. The cheap condos being built all over the island have killed the SI feel.
Also, beware of the parking lot bait and switch. They will say there’s a parking lot available to purchase which actually makes you want to live there even more but once you move in you’ll find out that you cannot get the parking lot because they are actually only giving them to people who are willing to pay triple and not even in the building so beware of that and always do your research into the company you’re looking at
I've got a place in Bensonhurst but mostly I live in Garden City out in Nassau County. There's no reason to live in NYC anymore. Actually, if I had any sense I'd move out of NYS altogether.
The Bronx; large space with your own private backyard, proximity to expressways, upstate NY, GW, Manhattan, private enclosed garage, no monthly maintenance fees, no nosy boards telling you what to do in your space. The only one that is a maybe is SI but with that commute you're better off living in another planet.
I would choose Brooklyn. Manhattan is the busiest borough of the city and it seems that the tourism never stops. Yes, it has the most famous landmarks but a train from Brooklyn would get me there no problem.
When seeing this I have a new appreciation for our 2500 sq ft. home on a one third acre lot in the pacific n.w. surrounded by natural woodlands, peace and quiet and only a short drive to a well developed metro area. For half the price. People living in areas such as this video live like mice in a maze one on top of the other, going from point A to point B ignorant of a real quality of life.
Where do you live? I disagree. The NYC real estate market is very diverse compared to other major cities. New York State has very suburban areas. I should cover that in a future video.
@@Angel-810 I'm not sure if this is the case here, but a lot of older buildings had/have a toilet and a washbasin or even a small shower in the basement or laundry area. The idea was that Dad would come home from work, working in a factory...meat plant...etc. so he could get rid of his dirty working attire and freshen up before entering the main living area.
The apartment for 1 million in Manhattan for over 1.300 sq. feet seems like a good deal but the maintainence charges of over $3,700 a month is my biggest concern. Thanks for sharing. Interesting.
Thanks for watching. That was the biggest challenge selling this apartment. The only good thing about the maintenance was that it included all utilities and was 30% tax deductible.
The Staten Island home must have a typo cause dam $8,569 tax per month no way what they smoking 😂 over $102,000 per year in just taxes you can keep it.
I am in contract to sell my Sag Harbor house and was just casually pondering Manhattan listings to see if I should upgrade. I have come to the conclusion that I need to get outta NYC. It is really sad what you get here versus what you would get in, say, Philly or DC for the money. I've been in Manhattan for 25 years and it has just been slowly declining for the past 10 years while everything has gotten vastly more expensive and crowded. It's just not the city that I fell in love with way back when...
The Brooklyn place is the nicest and seems to be the best value for your money. I think I would go with that one. It's pretty much like a house, and I love that it has two separate outdoor spaces that are pretty private, and everything is new.
@@justinmartineznycYou're welcome! I agree! Manhattan would be my second choice. I would prefer to live in Manhattan in that location as well. If the Brooklyn place can be in the same location in Manhattan for that price then it would be perfect! LOL I also can't stomach not having laundry in the unit at that price point in Manhattan.
