The Bronx for me! My dad was from the Bronx. He lived in a 5 story apartment building with an elevator. My dad was born in 1926 when the Bronx was an awesome place.

I liked the Bronx one too, but the commute was further from the Brooklyn one. Thanks for watching!

The apartment for 1 million in Manhattan for over 1.300 sq. feet seems like a good deal but the maintainence charges of over $3,700 a month is my biggest concern. Thanks for sharing. Interesting.

Thanks for watching. That was the biggest challenge selling this apartment. The only good thing about the maintenance was that it included all utilities and was 30% tax deductible.

I am in contract to sell my Sag Harbor house and was just casually pondering Manhattan listings to see if I should upgrade. I have come to the conclusion that I need to get outta NYC. It is really sad what you get here versus what you would get in, say, Philly or DC for the money. I've been in Manhattan for 25 years and it has just been slowly declining for the past 10 years while everything has gotten vastly more expensive and crowded. It's just not the city that I fell in love with way back when...

Congrats on your sell! What is your budget and criteria for the home?

When seeing this I have a new appreciation for our 2500 sq ft. home on a one third acre lot in the pacific n.w. surrounded by natural woodlands, peace and quiet and only a short drive to a well developed metro area. For half the price. People living in areas such as this video live like mice in a maze one on top of the other, going from point A to point B ignorant of a real quality of life.

Where do you live? I disagree. The NYC real estate market is very diverse compared to other major cities. New York State has very suburban areas. I should cover that in a future video.

The Brooklyn place is the nicest and seems to be the best value for your money. I think I would go with that one. It's pretty much like a house, and I love that it has two separate outdoor spaces that are pretty private, and everything is new.
@justinmartineznyc

Thanks for watching! I totally agree! I liked the location of the Manhattan one, and that's why I was torn between the two.

@@justinmartineznycYou're welcome! I agree! Manhattan would be my second choice. I would prefer to live in Manhattan in that location as well. If the Brooklyn place can be in the same location in Manhattan for that price then it would be perfect! LOL I also can't stomach not having laundry in the unit at that price point in Manhattan.

You need a better camera lense by the way. The properties weren't shot nicely. You could barely see the whole rooms, bad angles.

@@Angel-810 I'm not sure if this is the case here, but a lot of older buildings had/have a toilet and a washbasin or even a small shower in the basement or laundry area. The idea was that Dad would come home from work, working in a factory...meat plant...etc. so he could get rid of his dirty working attire and freshen up before entering the main living area.
