I saw on a video there is a lot of horizontal slop in the axial and they pop out with suspension travel. Maybe it broke on the outdrive cup as it was about to pop out. The person put an o ring in the outdrive cup and it fixed the problem. Thanks for the video. I have the first one and I plan on getting this one.
That's a bad spot for a power button/switch I have the losi super baja/rock rey 2.0 Love them both They don't break easy they are pretty damn durable But I really like how on my 2 losi trucks that the batteries go in the bottom and you don't have to remove the body at all to do that On the flip side It does make it a challenge to do some work on them When that time does come to do repairs or maintenance The rear diff is real easy to get to the front and center not as easy I wasn't a fan of the small laser nut It's appearance isn't isn't appealing in my opinion This looks cool but what are the issues that comes with it We shall see I am into large scale rc cars I have a few I will see what happens with this rig over time and see if I even want to get one Good content
The 1/8th scale base parts are not stout enuf for off-road on a 1/6 th scale. On road..., probably fine and better for less weight. Seams overly flawed just like the first lazernut.
Nice looking car and sweet run, bummer about the breakage though! That front outdrive looks crazy scraped up, you think a tiny pebble could have gotten in there and jammed it, breaking off the pin? Seems like a weird thing to break without something else interfering with it, you weren't even running it hard.
I wonder if the 1/6 Lasernut cage could be fitted to an Arrma XLWB 6s chassis? That would make the Lasernut bashable, otherwise it's just another Losi money pit. It's really cool, just not very durable, just like the 1/10 version that preceded it.
The chassis and running gear are LOSI's 1/8th buggy so a lot of the spares and hop-up's are available already, nice buggy I think it could be my next large scale purchase, qas thinking about Associated's Hoonigan Mustang or the LOSI moto X bike.
It definitely looks good, no doubt about that. But I've had those same electronics overheat in my Typhon. That motor and ESC must be getting killed powering that heavy buggy.
Not falling for it this time I spent over $500 on the first one & it’s the worst RC I’ve ever had I love the look of it & when it ran it wa awesome but mine would break after 2 runs or so over & over & became a money pit. Last time out which was over a year ago I just replaced the entire center diff & first time out after the rear went out. I have a total of under 20 runs on it. Now it just sits looking pretty on the shelf. Now maybe I got a bad one I don’t know but Losi lost my business right outta the gate I’ve wanted to but Losi’s but I do not trust the quality. The runs I did have on it where not even bashing just running it. Such a disappointment. 🤨
When I put the two speed shift mechanism into the gear in which it's supposed to go, it was a really tight fit. Is that normal? I'm building the car now.
@@OrcaBoat3 I believe this may be because of the same problem I ran into. I did not key the two speed clutch shoes correctly on the two speed hub. It is mentioned in my video in the first part. I don’t know if this is the problem, but you should check it out. You need to make sure those shoes are lined up with the flat spots.
Such a cool looking truck. Def want to get on of these!! It does seem to “land hard” in the front, sort of like a Max Slash… unexpected… and interesting failure too! 👀 This doesn’t seem like a car to do backflips and crazy bashing with either… more like a purpose built racer with what looks like a lot of realism (which is awesome IMO) but it sure didn’t look like you were beating on it too hard either 🤔 Look forward to any follow up 🔧👍🏼
I want to see this side by side size compared to a Fireteam. While not exactly alike they seem to have a few similar features. If it's as much an animal as the Fireteam it'll be a great rig. I think the breakage was a rock related fluke. I'd love to support my local shop, just need someone to build one first. Closest one is 1.5 hours away versus free delivery ordering online. It's just not a practical option for some of us
@@boduke9428 The Fireteam & Lasernut are not even in the same stadium! I have the Fireteam & first pile of crap Losi Lasernut so my statement is from direct experience. 🤨
@@Casitascrawlers * size comparison* don't just read, comprehend. They have similar body panels, cage structure, same motor, esc, transmitter, and receiver. Those are the similar features. From the tires alone I wouldn't expect similar handling or driving experience. I just wanna know if this is closer in size to my Fireteam. I'd expect it to drive closer to my Mojave if anything.
What do they build that compares to this? A frikkin Bandit? They are more interested in building brushed motored children's toys lately than hobby grade performance oriented RC rigs.
@@boduke9428you are correct TRAXXAS doesn't build anything that compares to the Losi Super Lasernut...TRAXXAS models don't break drivelines just by merely driving around...and at a way higher pricepoint that is what Losi brings to the table.
Losi needs to address the terrible reliability of both the first & now looks like the second one now! It’s ridiculous I payed over $500 for the worst RC I’ve ever had. What you gotta say about that Losi!!!
@@joshleyba3854 when seen the size of the tires on 17mm wheels and 1/8 size axle I was thinking the same hopefully not a replay of the first Lasernut !
@@metalrc by the looks of it, this looks exactly like a replay of the first Lasernut. 1st was a 1/8th vehicle on a 1/10th platform, and now it's a 1/6 vehicle on a 1/8 platform i really have no idea why people at Losi are THIS effin stupid and thick to repeat the same mistake at a bigger, more expensive, less popular scale. seriously, WTF
@@Casitascrawlers He's driving around a gravel lot. Tiny rocks enter the car and get stuck between fast moving metal parts with extreme levels of torque going through them. Rocks will beat metal every time. I've had center driveshafts get chewed up from a rock smaller than a fingernail. These things happen. Just because something costs a lot of money doesn't mean it's impossible for it to break, particularly when running it in a high-risk environment comprised solely of things that can get into one of the dozens of spaces where metal interfaces with more metal. He even says so in the video that it causes problems with all the cars he runs there. Look at all those rocks surrounding fast moving parts. If the full scale version of this vehicle had rocks the size of your fist filling up the engine, you betcha it's going to have problems. But sure, it must be garbage, then.
Thank you for posting! I was really struggling to figure out which body to get, I think that one fits perfectly and looks great. Unless someone convinces me to try something else, I think I am going for that one!
