This is the closest part of the TAT for me too! Looks like great fun! I’d like to try it on my CRF300. Taking it on the Swinging Bridges Ride in Missouri this Friday. Spent the day getting y gear arranged and test driven. Feels great.
Much more reasonable than trail 90 or 1300 for Enduro adventure. The weight is under 300 while the seat hight goes up over 36 inches. The top speed over 80 mph. Really great choice.
Really cool video! Question, At the 4 minute 34 second mark, you're ridding partner is negotiating a really steep down hill turn. Where exactly is that turn? Which side of what pass?
Don’t know exactly but it’s between corkscrew and hurricane passes. It was steep and tight and probably the worst of all the switchbacks but there was a turnout that can be used if needed.
@@TheWilly350 I think you followed Dry Gulch Rd? That's not on the COBDR. I think you reconnected on CR11 near where the bathroom is. The route follows CR11 all the way from the top of Corkscrew until it meets CR10 at the bathroom.
@@MeerkatADV Sounds like you know that area better than me as I've only ridden through there twice. I've just looked at my recorded gpx track from that day and here's what I can say. After staying in Ouray, we picked up the BDR off US550 near Ironton and were on the CO BDR route until Animas Forks, where we left the track. Corkscrew, Hurricane, and these switchbacks are all in between 550 and Animas Forks, so I think this switchback is on the BDR track.
i never got a big bike because i rather be happy offroad and unhappy on road , my crf250l feels like a dirtbike even when loaded offroad, but for sure it sucks on road ...
I understand that thinking. I did the Transamerica Trail in 2018 on a WR250R and would again. But I also really enjoyed this trip on the T7. They both have their pros and cons and even in the hard sections the T7 handled really well. It’s just heavy to pick up if you drop it.
@@TheWilly350 I did the continental divide on my T7. Loved it! Yes there are times where I wish I was on a lighter, more nimble bike, but all around I love my T7. Looking forward to the Wyoming BDR this coming summer.
Must have been a insanely boring trip on wr250s going 20 under the speed limit and having no power to accelerate… boring, shoulda got dr650 or drz400 and uncork them
I’d say it’s more about the riders skill level. I’m pretty new to sand and also had stock tires one my T7. My buddy was also on a T7 and he ripped through there no problem.
I made a trip in vtx 1300, 15 days 6300 miles from El Paso to Vancouver, Canada, the best experience in my life, congratulations on your very interesting trip
Just fine, but I doubt you want to ride 500 miles a day on a TW200. and the KLX only has 150 mile range, so you'll be stopping several times a day for fuel... doable, but not ideal.
