I am a Sleep and Ear Surgeon working for the NHS in London UK. I started this channel to help people with their snoring & sleep apnoea problems and ear problems during the COVID outbreak. I felt it was hard for people to get help and and there was a lot of incorrect information about these conditions. I hope this channel provides you with help and sometimes reassurance about your medical conditions.
Obviously this channel is not a substitute for seeing a doctor and I would always follow their advice. These videos are purely to help you understand these conditions only. When you do get to meet your doctor, hopefully I would have given you some information so that you are able to have a meaningful and productive consultation with them.
If you want to see me as a patient for medical reasons, please ask your GP to refer you to see me on the NHS for free.

I’ve just started (actually 4 days ago) my journey with my CPAP and wonder if my high blood pressure will be better….so far, I am not sleeping better with it, I wake up often, and have a dry mouth as well, what didn’t happen often before…….any suggestions?
Doc i lost some of my hearing during a ear cleaning using syringe and water. I believe my ear drum is perforated. It's been 1 year since the incident. Can this surgery heal my ear drum and can I get back my 100% hearing back?
After " Wim Hof " breathing exercices, tinnitus appeared to many people. This happened to my sister 3 years ago. The sounds and other effects are present in both ears. Nothing helped. She is a professional musician which makes her job very difficult.
My wife is having problems with her gp surgery, she’s has seasonal hayfever but it’s quite severe and having a massive impact on her life. They keep referring her to just go and pick up antihistamines and are refusing to go any further with helping her, any advice ?
I wish I watched this before my septoplasty. I ended up with a septal perforation 2 weeks after my septoplasty. My doctor gave me a nasal spray prior the operation, which, according to the video, is a malpractice. I am so irritated and flustered with how things turned out. I tried to fix an issue and came down with a whole new one.
Interesting. I seem to make no ear "wax," but only a little oil, sometimes not even that. I sometimes use olive oil drops & bit of cotton ball as a comfort measure. My ears are quite sensitive.
Great video Mr Veer. Would you please consider creating a video to cover surgery around Epiglottis Stiffening please as this was discovered as a possible option for me following a DISE by yourself.
Hi Vik, I really hope you will read this. I noticed that some time after I started doing the exercises, I developed a bulge in my neck when I talk and swallow. Not really sure if they are related, have you ever seen anything like this before?
I got these noises yesterday morning and I still have it now. I'm really anxious about it. Since I am a reader, I journal, I do a lot of arts and crafts without music to relieve my stress from work. So I'm worried how will this affect my hobbies.
I don't really know much about this, but i now have a buzzing in my left ear. The stranger thing is when i wake up ,the noise is not there. The more i stress the worse i gets. Wish i knew what's up.
4 months ago I was diagnosed with a severe hypertension, I started taking meds and losing wheight as I was 377 lbs, 10 days later I woke up at 5am feeling that something is wrong with my heart beat it was so fast and irregular and as I stood up it went even worst and I almost fainted, it was by far the worst thing that I've ever experienced in my life, so I went to the hospital and I was diagnosed with afib at only 26yo, my cardiologist said that it was due to the hypertension but I didn't really think so, it's obviously a factor of risk but I knew that there's still something else causing me that and I started questioning my self why did it happen at night ? So what I did is just recording my voice at night and as I woke up I listened and I was chocked I was snoring so bad literally suffocating and struggling to get air in my lungs, the same day I went to see a sleep specialist, I did the test and that's how I realized I had sleep apnea with an AHi of 43, I lost since then nearly 90 lbs feeling much better with cpap therapy I don't know if my osa was caused by my overwheight it's an answer that I'm gonna get once I'm done with the fat loss, and to be honest I'm not putting alot of hope on that in mind I'll be on this machine for the rest of my life and I accepted it.
look in the mirror at your tonsils. make sure they are not big. tonsils normally disappear by adulthood. if you have big tonsils, that might be the answer. in the UK you would not get CPAP if you have big tonsils.
I have a cpap but the power went out and sleep apnea began immediately. Buddy at the gym told me about tongue exercises to stop snoring and sleep apnea. I wanted to find them on the internet and here I am. Did it help anyone?
My advice, having had this for probably 15 years. Fans. A rather loud one next to my head when sleeping, and softer more subtle fans in my home. I rarely hear the ringing with a background noise, and fans do well enough for me.
I asked about exercises at my NHS CPAP clinic. They said there was no evidence and they wouldn't work anyway because muscles fully relax during sleep. Why, then, is a sleep surgeon recommending them? Who's right?
I had septoplasty yesterday and don't recall being told to stop smoking before the operation. Is it even worth stopping now or is the damage already done?
2 children dead in Canada's Hamilton McMasters Hospital from tonsil surgery. No explanation. Try looking at mRNA vaccinations and rampant spike protein activity after surgery.
How do I make an appointment to see you please? I have been asking my GP to refer me to see you many times. For reasons not made clear to either of us we have not been able to do that. I am not sure if that is because your practice is in London and I live in North Kent or if my GP is going about the referral in the wrong way. I have been a patient of the sleep centre at east Grinstead for more than 10 years but I can't tolerate a cpap machine blowing air near my dry eyes. I recently had a local GP with a specialism in ENT put the 'long wiggly device' up one of my nostrils for the first time ever and he said that my tongue base was thick and the sides of my throat were wide and the cavity when my mouth was closed is small but when I poked my tongue out the cavity opened. My latest sleep study showed that when I am in REM and sleeping deeply I stopped breathing 40 times during the 45 minutes of REM. When I am not in REM I stop breathing 5 times per hour. I suffer with brain fog and day time exhaustion and have for many years. I am desperate to feel less tired. Please can you let me know how I can get an appointment with you? Many thanks for your very informative and often funny videos ♥️
