HD Russell Boots is a small business located in East Vancouver. We handcrafted custom leather shoes and boots made using traditional shoemaking techniques. We are here to give you a sneak peek into our workshop and to share our passion for shoemaking using only quality leather and materials. David is our professional shoemaker with over 35 years of experience, he was an accomplished patternmaker and pattern grader at 27 years old and has since honed his craft that he is a full-fledged cordwainer - able to handmake a shoe from beginning to completion.
In addition to making leather shoes, we are also experts at repairing and restoring leather. We provide cobbler and reparation services to extend the lifespan of a leather good or accessory and prevent it from simply being thrown away.
We are passionate about sharing our knowledge and skills and will be providing videos that we hope will be helpful to you in your shoemaking or leatherwork journey.
Thank you so much for sharing this video, especially with chapter marks and time offsets in the description! I hadn't seen the term "dutchman" before. Would it be fair to also call it a rand, rahn, split lift, or seat lift, or does a dutchman differ from those in some way? Anyway, thanks again. I look forward to sharing this video with folks interested in hand lasting using applied canvas gemming.
Opino que no es necesario qastar toda esa puntilla el tiempo y él deterioro de las hormas .Si gusta estoy disponible para un tutorial ,por lo demas muy bien 👍
Because we use canvas in the toe cap, it is required to form the outline twice in order to have a sleek toe cap. There is no possible way to do this in one go by hand. By machine yes because there are multiple "arms" pulling the material at various points, but by hand, it is just not possible.
buen dia señor no hablo ingles pero e esta aprendiendo mucho de sus videos dios le de mucha salud paa que nos siga enseñando y seguira buscando su canal gracias
Thank you! We responded to clients who wanted softer and lighter footwear. We placed orthopaedic foam on the ball of the foot as well as at the heel for cushioning.
Es más importante la elaboración del corte porque se logra ver el cabrea sobre la madera y éso no lo hacen siempre pienso que es más difícil hacer el corte qué la esulada
