How do you get it to stay on the circle hooks seeing here in ohio trebles are illegal to use

I'm going to use chicken chunks and hotdogs cut in 1/3, with chicken liver and garlic salt, plus Jello...Jello has Amilo Acid like animal product. (SALMONELLA) Make sure you wash your hands after handling raw chicken. Also, I might try to target for some Red Drum Fish on shrimp at the lakes here in San Antonio, TX! 🐟🎣

A tip I do is keep a stick of chap-stick, or coco butter in the tackle box for lubricating lead jigs which is handy for rigging in the field. My best results is squeezing scent attractant inside the tube jig then inserting the lead jig.

Definitely put that bag in a zip lock container before going in the fridge. After a day with just the bag your beer cans and bottles smell and taste like garlic.

I tried the Jello Chicken for a solid month at many different locations. It does not work. I tried the hot dog thing too, no results.

How do you know that actually works

Zebco 33 here. I'll never forget the time my dad bought one for me 20 years ago. It still works great. Never touched saltwater. I still use it and hope to pass it on.

I bought a ten dollar spinning combo from Walmart. Brand is Ozark trails. Medium light combo. Caught several small bass on it. Might get another one and spool 4 pound line for panfish. Felt flimsy at first but the rod has held up to some abuse. Spincasters are nice in certain situations because of the ease of casting. I still use a few in tight spots with a shorter rod. Zebco 33 micro is the perfect panfish combo. Spinning is superior though most of the time. The spincasters are finicky. If you do decide to go with a spincaster Zebco 33 is probably your best bet. Spend a few more dollars for the platinum. I have a Shakespeare on delivery in the next two days. Can't wait.

What's your biggest catfish on this?

Until it magically disappeared a few years ago, I used the same Zebco 33 I got when I was 10 years old back in '76. It was a great reel and only serviced it one each year. I still use my Old Pal 1050 tackle box and get ribbed about it from time to time.

I have used spinning reels and spincasting reels and I prefer high quality spincasting reels because I have always had trouble with spinning reels getting tangled up after every other cast I currently have 2 spincasting reels. I have the zebco 808 spincasting reel with 20 pound test fishing line for big channel catfish and walleye and a zebco 33 with 10 pound test fishing line for bluegill and rainbow trout. And those are the fish I primarily fish for and those reels have lasted me forever so I disagree with the idea that spincasting reels don't hold up. Because as long as you have a high quality one it will hold up the only downside with spincasting reels is they typically only go up to 20 pound test fishing line. So if you plan on fishing in the ocean for really big fish past 50 pounds your probably better off with a spinning reel. But I only fish in lakes and rivers anyway and 20 pound test fishing line is good enough for any freshwater fish so I'm good.

I just tie the Hook to a section of line with palamar then palamar to the barrel swivel. Then you can use a palamar to tie to the other end of the barrel swivel to the rod.

I use a dropper for my weight on a sinker. The drop is 6 lb test so that in the event of a snag I sacrifice only the lead.

Everything looks great with your rig. I would suggest using a snell variant for a hook knot. A knot that is bound to the shank keeps the hook straight under load providing for more consistent hook ups as opposed to knots binding to the eye that allow the hook to hinge more freely.

I'm 31 years old and still swear by the spincaster. I hate spinning reels; all those damn things do for me is get tangled relentlessly and I am done with them for good.

Cut the pieces but only cure half and save the other half as- is on a separate plastic baggie . If this bait formula does not work for you straight away, snack on the as-is cut weenies and chase it down with a cold brew. Win-win hey?

I like Zebco, Shakepeare ,Shamono,....Cheap is not for them. They work good and fit the need....I`m not a pro, Take the kids fishing and have with fun them......God bless...you...smile

This work great over weedy bottoms too- I leave 24-36 inches between sinker and hook .

I use all 3 types, spincast, spinning and bait casting, but, deep down? I still love the spincast reels the best. The only downside is it's kind of hard, as most of you know, to get long casts especially with top water or light lures.

In the future, if there is no surface for the drill bit. Do the hole in something else (piece of plywood) Lay that hole over the place you want to make the hole and it will guide the hole saw perfectly. Better luck next time!
