No the persian silver coins were not looted from Persia The Vikings and Varangians traded in valueable metals cuting Gold and Silver coins made them easier for trading. Most likely the coin was traded in Eastern Europe already being already cut or cut up after to use for trading up north A bunch of cut Persian silver coins have been found throughout Scandinavia along old trade routes some can be traced to as far east as Afganistan

LOOK AT THE DATE ON THE COINS...ITS NOT A ONE=1... ITS AN "I" OR A "J"...its not/they are not 1s...like 1852...its" I/J 852"..WE ARE 1000YEARS OUT OF DATE, mwaning they ADDED 1000years to our calendar...and if you look closer, you will see..find a coin that was made with the date 1851, or any of the last 3 numbers being a 1, then you will see the difference, between the first "number" & the letter...

This is when humans only knew for technology about smelting iron they didn’t know about any other metal you could make.

I think i found one of those coins #5 over here in the netherlands. There was a lot of trade happening from Friesland (in the netherlands) with the baltic sea countries. Never knew those were rare, thanks for the info :)

@@LorenLemcke i wouldnt think otherwise. it stopped in 1066 in england and about same time in denmark. so those square coins cant have been made by vikings in 1600rds. and i juat googled it to be sure and one site mentioned stuff from early 1300rds

I’m genuinely curious, how do you know what all these coins are? Obviously you’re well versed in this and I’m sure there’s a lot of books and stuff but do you clean them first, are they common and you know of them already, how does this work?
@LorenLemcke
@LorenLemcke 6 дней назад
Just pure experience finding them to be honest. They all have different shapes, thickness, construction (hammered, milled, etc), material compositions, and all sorts of specific identifying traits (e.g. 1600s Swedish coppers are thicker, often have a crescent moon shape from an off center strike, and deeper struck details, etc, compared to the 1700s Swedish coins when the kingdom had money issues and switched to thinner coins of lower quality, etc)
