I’m in Texas and I was driving with no licenses or insurance and ran from the cops. I crashed into two cars and went to jail. Just recently tried to get my license for the first time at 25 years old and the lady said I have a suspension or something and need to reach out to the people and pay the damages. No one ever told me any of this. If I knew this back then I had the money to pay whatever to fix the cars but now I’m broke and can’t afford that. But she said it’s been 2 years I can file a SR-60 but I don’t know if that means I don’t have to pay still. Any help
Progressive Insurance Company Snapshot OBD device has thousands of complaints all over the internet, they have been violating the Deceptive Trade Practices Act for several years. Sued in court and in one case a progressive claim agent admitted to having 8100 complaints and over 500k in claim payouts.
It’s not made for “modern” drivers. If you’re at a drive thru like Starbucks or McDonald’s and you unlock your phone to pay with the app it dings you as “handling phone” while driving, even if your car is parked. The trip doesn’t end until you turn off your car and the Bluetooth disconnects.

I just checked the app reviews on the Google Play Store, and people don't like it. Sort the reviews by recent, and you'll see that USAA has faked a 4.1, but 90% of the last 50 reviews are 1 or 2 stars.
after paying state farm insurance my preminums for 60 years, i am left with not thing. after hitting age 8o thry raised my monthly preminums to over thousand dollars a month, which i could not afford so i had to drop my life insurance. pay, pay, pay at almost the end i get shit!!! ( the goverment should check on what is going on the insurance industry all crooks!! )

We bought a car that we didn’t know had a rebuilt title. We were surprised after we got in a wreck and seen the payout from the insurance company for the total loss. Be careful who you buy cars from.
I had geico for 4 months and then they kicked me off because I got into a car accident but it was a no fault accident so they wrote my car off and kicked me off 4 months later because they renew your policy every 6 months 🙄
we had Allstate for a long time. We were paying something like $4000 a year. for two cars. Full insurance. Now we got a letter that they sold our policy to some other insurance. Yearly $10,000. We dont have any accident or tickets. Crazy
Been with State Farm 38 years and how do they repay my loyalty, by jacking my auto rates 30% in one billing cycle, without any change in policy or claims. My homeowners was already nearly triple what it was 8 years ago, when I built my house. Then to rub salt into the wound they give their CEO a nearly $25 million dollar bonus after screwing over their customers. I was very happy with my SF agent, who has actually become a pretty good friend over the years but told him the time has come and even he said he understands completely and that it probably isn’t a bad idea because they aren’t done raising rates to make up for their bad business practices. Thankfully he could retire if they did go belly up. Who would you recommend for auto insurance in NYS?
The secretary of my Insurance Agent (A friend) told me recently of a new deal with Home Owners Insurance. The "Deal"? "Two claims, and you are dropped" She said. Over how much time? No time frame She said. All Insurers are in on it. Then, if you do find coverage, you will pay out the azz for it. If you file a claim and are turned down, that still counts as an "Incident". She calls it "Two Strikes and you are out". She said a big contributor to this was homes getting a new roof after Hail Storms, often old roofs that were due for shingle replacement. Another form of cost control.

I wonder if these companies who offer and use types of “safe driving” apps may ever use the information they collect to determine liability if you are in a crash? Has anyone had experience with that?

USAA leased or purchased safe pilot from who knows. It has lots of holes, that USAA does not explain. I had it for months before I found out that if you drive a long day trip, over 4-5 hours, that may count against you. I had a 100%,then suddenly it was 89%……no tickets, no accidents, no nothing. And they did not change it. You can leave your phone at home occasionally. It does not track if you are driving or not…you do the option to select “I was the driver,” “I was the passenger.,” “This was not a drive.”
Is there a way to block the reporting of a paid speeding ticket to the insurance companies? As they are increasing my rates on each 6 month renewal and the ticket is over 2 years old.
Most states rate tickets for 3 years. Some 5 years. It will fall off on its own once the time has passed. The only thing you can do, if your state offers it and your insurance company gives a discount, is take a defensive driving course online to reduce the premium increase.
I watched my car insurance jump after any accident that took place, no matter I was no-fault in all cases. The only incident I was at fault for was recently, a fender bender with no damage to my car and a bumper replacement on hers. (In fairness, she stopped short where she should not have but - I did hit her on the "backside", so I am at fault.) I just got my 2024 rate and it is +$100 USD a month to my 2023. It puts me over $350/mo for (1) 2014 vehicle. I don't know what they expect people to do, honestly. I have to have insurance, but I can't afford insurance at these rates. I checked with Geico, Progressive, All State, USAA, AAA, etc. and all of them are over $300 or worse. . .
State Farm raised my car insurance recently a few months ago by $20 and I haven’t had a ticket in like 10 years. They claim that my specific type of vehicle is the reason why the insurance went up and not my driving. I drive a sedan It’s not even a sports car. It’s a V8 but not a sports car, a sports car to me is considered a coupe. So that is not fair to me. They should be raising the rates based on peoples tickets not what type of vehicle they drive. So basically what the company is saying, if other people who are driving the same vehicle as mine and they are not driving safe I should be affected by it.. I don’t think so. that is not fair to people who drive safely and don’t have tickets. Sounds like some sort of scam to me and it’s the same lady that I called to pay my insurance that I’ve known for like 20 years. She is supposed to be a family friend.

Today is July 5, 2024. I'm in the unregulated state of Virginia. Liberty Mutual emailed me that my rate will increase from $1182 to $1448 next month (up 22.5%). I'm being victimized to make up for bad management and possibly to balance smaller increases in states with consumer protections. I have not received the paperwork, so I don't know if there is a notice of adverse action coming. I received these from my motorcycle insurer and from the insurer of my second home when I paid off my mortgage and car loan. They stated that since I had no current loan payment history, they had no way of evaluating my reliability. How about the fact that I never made a claim on any homeowner's policy or motorcycle policy?? How about my FICO 9 score of 826? Sorry if I offend you, but I consider all insurance a criminal enterprise. Thirty seconds after I find a cheaper homeowner's insurer I will no longer be a Liberty Mutual john.
