YOU BEEN PLAYING TRAINZ FOR 20 YEARS????? I thought you were new to this game, maybe bc u just started a year ago ( posting videos ), you learn something everyday
Yep, that's it. I played for years and years without really researching anything, I just liked driving the trains around. I started watching RU-vid videos to learn more, but remember, RU-vid did not even launch until 2005. And then, as you pointed out, when I started posting videos about two years ago, all my very helpful viewers began to educate me. I have learned more about railroads in the last two years than in any other part of my life. Of course, I just retired 2 years ago, so that also allows for a lot more free time to dedicate toward my interests. Thanks for watching!
Crazy as it sounds, I'm not bored. I go back to Trainz, Run 8 and Railroader time and time again, doing the same tasks over and over and I just don't get bored. Am I an alien?
4459 was built in 1920 by Lima and is one of the last batch ordered by Union Pacific. 4451-4480 S-6 was its class. 4455 & 4466 are preserved but 4459 went to scrap. Sweet engine to add up in Thurmond. Might need another one to help with Thurmonds yard. Great video Mikerowchip, vintage railroading at its finest.
Hey, thanks! Before I found this engine to use on the route, I have never even heard of an S-6. I really like it as well. Are the 4455 and 4466 still in running order? The information you have on this engine is quite impressive, thanks for sharing!
@mongoose9901 I'm guessing you'd want to do this to relieve coupler strain? This also never occurred to me. Not sure I want to get that technical, my yard jobs seem to be the right amount of time, adding this might take too much time. Interesting though!
Happy fourth of July man if you don't like the fact that whether or not this man celebrates this holiday well... this just may not be the channel for you.
thats what i was doing yelling at the screen like you said i saying portal my missus said i was mad then you said portal and i said to her see he did hear me lmao
I enjoy trains so much, that I can't see myself getting bored with any of my routes. I honestly look forward to every recording I make. Thanks for watching!
Yes, I saw those videos as well and it does look good. It will be hard for me to wait a bit before making my purchase, but I WILL eventually buy it. Thanks!
Ahh, the dynamic breaks. I never use those. I thought they were only for going down hill, for some reason. I will have to try using the dynamic brakes in the future. Thanks again!
The top light is for your main line and the lights below are divergent when you change tracks and a 3 headed signal controls multiple switches and the 3 headed one is also called an interlocking signal
So, the three aspect thing I was talking about IS about each individual light. Multiple lights appear for divergent tracks and multiple switches. Thanks for the info.
Ohh.... whoa is me! Yeah, my doctor tells me I need to drink more water. So does my wife. Coke Zero is zero calories, but if I don't listen to my doctor, why would I continue to see him? I still get about 32 oz a day, so don't feel too bad for me.
If you use the (SHIFT-V) on keyboard or the (TOP 4th Button) on Rail driver you get the TRACK HUD that has the Train/Track Speed, how far the next signal is, the grade of track and previous signal. This mite help you..
Thanks! Yes, knowing how far the next signal is would be a great help. Thanks for the info! I am looking at my raildriver right now, and indeed, the 4th top button is the Track HUD. How did I not notice this? Although in my defense, there are buttons galore on this thing. Thanks for watching!
Well... I got some good news for you, or perhaps it's bad news. I will not be stopping the Farming Simulator 22 series after the 100th episode, like I am the Tidewater Trainz series. Sorry, or you're welcome, which ever it may be.
Wasn't really planning on buying FS25, but I think I will get it just for the rice alone and a few of the other new features. I most likely will not play it for a while until some decent maps and mods drop
Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. Like I said during the video, I want to wait until the mods get updated for the new game and I hate to stop what I am doing in 22 and start all over in 25. Thanks for the input!
Funny thing, I was talking to my wife about the B&O Railroad Museum a few weeks ago. I would really like to go. When I first read the part of your comment about how Baltimore is in Maryland, I thought to myself "I know that!". But then I started thinking, did I know that when I made the video you commented on? Probably not. So, thanks for the info!
I totally agree, but in my opinion as a girl, i watch him because he is funny. Especially earlier in the video when he rolled play as a " EOT " i lost it😂
Hey, thanks! But you're right, I DO love making these videos. I have so much fun that I can hardly wait to start working on my next one. Thanks for watching!
I may be funny, but looks aren't everything. Ohhh.... you mean what I SAY is funny. Thanks! As far as the EOT... well... everything on this channel can't be premium quality. I am, after all, a one man operation. My writers quit years ago. Thank you!
It's kinda a tie. But, I guess if I was forced to pick one, I would pick the SDs. Why, I am not really sure. I am afraid that is the best I can answer this question. Thanks for watching!
I know, right? It is hard to believe I have made so many videos. It feels like I've made about 50 or so. I'd say I need help but I'm having too much fun!
So not a Starbucks? Would it have windows on it if it was a signal box? Come to think of it, does it have windows on it? I can't remember. It would have been tough getting the cattle to swim to that yard before putting them on the train.
Steam engines go by the size of the drive wheels so with the small wheels it's going to pick up speed faster than the bigger engines and the s6 is the model number
Hey, that's interesting! When I think about it, smaller wheels and faster acceleration makes perfect sense! So S-6 is the model, thanks for that as well.
You have to stop using the auto brakes. When you release those they are not instant the train has to build the air pressure back up to at least 80 psi to release the brakes. You need to use the dynamic breaking when stopping.
Ok, I get that, but are the dynamic brakes going to stop the train in time with a really long consist? Like in a yard? Or are you saying I should only use auto brakes out on the mainline and use only indy brakes in yards or for other low speed circumstances? I am always looking to learn more, so thanks!
I'm looking at my session rules for the UMR, and I'm using: Car Tagger Rule TANE SP3-TRS19. It doesn't indicated what version it is beyond that. I have not checked the download station in quite some time to see if there is an updated one from this. Thanks for watching!
@@mikerowchip2945 ok thanks. I found a new 2023 trs22 tagger version on the download station I think from Wolfe. I thought I was having issues with it but I realized it just takes some getting used to and has some limitations. I started using it along with waybills to begin tagging empties. I also am using a simplified spreadsheet to define my mainline and local trains and identify switch tasks etc. You inspired me to try Hinton which I am enjoying after scratching the surface with UMR which is a bit overwhelming in size to manage at least for me. But Hinton is pretty good. I just used one of the delivered sessions populated with cars as a starting point to modify and create my own session. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for doing them.
The videos I make are so much fun to do that it has actually made me like Trainz, Run 8 and Farming Simulator more! Yes, the UMR is a HUGE route that took me a LONG while to get into shape. The Hinton is much more manageable but still is a great route. The spreadsheet I have developed over the years is the basis of all my Trainz operations, so I hope your developing a spreadsheet works out well for you too. Thanks for watching!
He's threatened to quit about 24 times, but I keep reminding him that all it amounts to is job security. I think that line is wearing thin, I may have to put an ad in the paper.
Thomases of the world, unite! Unfortunately, he didn't complete the drill in under an hour, but as you so rightfully point out, it's the Thomasness of the episode that wins the heart and mind. Go Thomas!!
I agree. From opening a cough drop to suddenly looking at Freddy's head, I gasped a bit when I just looked at it now. Never really been into horror films, but maybe I have a talent here?
@@mikerowchip2945 that cough drop has it in for you lol but yeah that horror stuff is funny it wasn't intentional but funny nonetheless 🤣 Horror isn't for everyone
Well I'm glad this is the channel for you, but don't tell anyone. You see, my saying "This just may not be the channel for you" is kinda my catch phrase, and if people start going around and saying this IS the channel for them, well it kinda undercuts me. Seriously, thanks for watching!
i have covid at the moment so sick the boxs next to track are fuse and relay switches for the signals but if the points are ctc you can change them in real life as well you could of joined thomas and graham to push all of them up that would of got graeham out way
Sorry to hear about the COVID, I am still getting over mine. I hope you recover quickly. So those boxes ARE what that other person told me, relay switches for the CTC switches. Or are you the person that told me that? I can't remember. And yeah, using Graham would have got him out of the way AND supplied the power to get it done faster. I was not thinking. Thanks!
@ 2:50 in the video the “ flashing green ” is called “ limited clear “ it basically means Limited speed ( 45 m/ph ) through turnouts, crossovers, sidings, and over power- operated switches, then proceed track speed ) ( love the video btw ❤ )
6:15 that a " slow approach " or " restricting " ( 15 mile per hour depends what railroad your on ) and quick summary so you don’t get confused. Usually they are 3 singles head on one signal. The top of the top means track speed so go whatever track speed it is. The middle head is a restriction that means 30 miles per hour ( 45 if it flashing ) and the last last single at the bottom means slow speed 15 miles per hour ( 20 if no one sees you lol )
I had no idea about what the three heads indicated on the signals. Thanks! Now the question is, can I remember it and apply it? Maybe I should add this info to my spreadsheet. No... wait... I WILL add it to my spreadsheet. Thanks for the info!
@@mikerowchip2945 i can send you the single aspect charts if you want via email or whatever social media you have it would be amazing absolute pleasure ❤️
Sorry to hear about that. This cough is driving me nuts, I hope it ends soon. I hope you do not have anything serious, and that you feel better soon as well. Thanks for watching!
A close 2nd is shenanigans off the railway. So, on like a service road. Shenanigans on a service road. With company owned trucks. Low on fuel. Drive it like you hate it.
