That was fantastic! The best cockpit video I have seen of a take-off and landing. What better aeroplane than a Piet! Engine sounds beautiful, sounds like a Cub. Thank you for sharing.
Ohhh shit I was just watching your weedhopper video. This is a real UL. 3 axis controls and even aerobatics rated for extra durability. You'd like my plane too.
This looks like it has 2 axis controls so he's really doing the work his feet should be doing if he had rudder pedals. His rudder is hooked up to his stick. I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't see ailerons.
Just subscribed. That looks like so much fun. Here is an observation to ponder: Have you ever noticed that airplane guys are often sailors or motorcyclists, too?
I don't get how anybody can like flying these loud, open cockpit airplanes, especially with a passenger, when you're always having to look side to side of someone's head.
If you've ever flown tailwheel then you know having to look around someone is irrelevant because during taxi/takeoff/landing you can't see forward anyway, doesn't matter if it's a Cessna 180 or a J3 cub. Loud? A bonanza or light twin is loud....... Flying 65mph at 500ft on a warm evening in an open cockpit is as good as it gets, you can smell the fresh cut grass and bbq smoke, and everyone waves to the pilot in an open cockpit.
I'm considering a Pietenpol with the A-65. 1) is there a stick in the front and 2) are you open to teaching in one? I have 8,000 hours but only 6.5 TW 😂
Could think of alot of other things I would rather not do. This isn't one of em. Looks fun! How much does one cost? And what training is involved to solo one? Used to fly spam can Cessna's. But that was years ago. Powered hang glider Ragallo wing?
A core can be had for 1,000 or less, overhauling one casts around 10,000. A mid time engine sells for around 5,000 and a zero time engine for 20,000 plus.
