I'm Dillon this channel is loosely based about Photography. How it interacts with my life and the things I enjoy doing. Cycling, Surfing, Camping, Beer, Travel and anything else my short attention span decides to focus on for an intense but short period of time. RU-vid is for fun - I want to make things that entertain me. Hopefully they entertain you too.
Professionally I work a full time as a freelance creative making videos and taking photos for businesses and brand in the UK & Ireland.
I had a go with mine today to check this. Theres a bit of a light buzz sound when the mic input is turned up but it doesn’t seem to come across on the audio software and I dont hear it when plugged into the computer, so maybe this is an interference thing only on the mic Input. I’d say check your PC input isn’t picking any of the noise up and then you are ok
Hello When I plug my headphones into my sennheiser microphone it starts to make noise (rush), but when I plug my headphones into my PC there is no noise. Can you help me?
Is it making a noise through the headphones or on your device? Like is the mic picking the noise up? Do the headphones have a mic attached or enabled as well?
@@DillonOsborne I connected my headphones to the microphone and it makes a hissing noise. I turned off the microphone gainer and the headphones don't have a microphone
These are amazing pictures! So glad I found your video. How do you determine when to use the flash or not? I just recently received this camera as a gift and am a bit confused about the flash. All your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much glad ya liked it :) I think generally just use it if it feels a bit dark or it is doors. The camera will read the flash is on and adjust the settings a bit anyway.
I recently came across this issue, BUT only when using proxies. Out of 10 videos, 3-4 of them would be black after the proxies were created. Interesting because if I would click on Open Proxy folder, and play those specific blacked out videos, play in QuickTime, they would work just fine, but not in the FCP timeline. The problem is I can't shoot 4k 60fps in the "most compatible" format, so I have no choice but to use the other newer format. OR lower my resolution/frame rate.
This mic looks class!! I’m rocking a Rode USB mic which is doable but now I’m thinking I need a change up to remote podcasting! Also side note, shall we start a podcast about moss? I have a feeling it’s a winner! 😂
@@DillonOsborne yeah the motor noise on a shotgun mic doesn’t go well unless I use manual focus. The Rf-s glass on the canon R7 next to no noise. In short I got to buy more RF glass 😂
@@rawcreative Ah right yeah probably just need to upgrade lenses lol... or maybe just a better Shotgun mic potentially, I honestly have pretty much never had that issue with any of my Sony cameras over the past 10 years and I have like 10 different lenses across all of my cameras. never once had any focus driver mode. last time I had that issue was when I shot on a canon 650d a long time ago.
OMG brother, that just made my day!! Im editing 80 vids to upload for an online course and they were giving the worst thumbnail. All the other vids on RU-vid were about creating them not adding them. God bless you 😜
This guy needs to reevaluate what is considered a good photo. Because it was a trash camera with a trash lens and trash focus then they are garbage. Completely does a disservice to his self calling his skill trash. They were all great frames.
haha thanks I guess. just a bit of self deprecating humour lol But yeah I do agree with what you are saying, coming from a technical gear point only we can call them trash, but from the artistic side therein also lies the beauty. Appreciate the comment dude.
I just watched this again on my tv, and what a joy. Loved it. One tiny request would be to use less music, I really loved the sound design, and the sequences when you were talking to Ryan I kept hoping the music would fade, but I also can totally appreciate why you used the music how you did.
Yes dude!! I often rewatch them on the TV and the experience is always better agreed. I feel like the no music bit is probably future thing as they mature, on this occasion I didn't feel I had nailed the dialogue parts that well that they could hold attention on their own lol
This was unbelievably inspiring Dil! So many times I’ve wanted to film an experience or trip and thought against it because of wanting to use all my gear and make it look super slick and professional. Ultimately making me not film anything. Now I think I’ll just white out the phone and film it the old school way and just go in raw, (with maybe a little bit of cinematic touches if the moment arrives). This was class man. Great video 🤙🏼
Thanks dude 🙏🙌 if that’s what you took away then I am stoked. Yeah just film shit real and remember the story is important. To many people think gear and technique makes it but they would be wrong lol
Dude as I said loads of times before I’d go make some shit like this with you haha. Unreal video. Wholesome and was nice to just see a couple of dudes chilling out being silly on bikes and boards etc.
Great work man! I'm making a point this year to get into video, but feeling overwhelmed in terms of what should I shoot, how do I get it to the level I want it to be - this was a good reminder that it doesn't need to be polished to the nth degree, just needs to be real. Thank you!
Cheers man glad it resonated with ya. Yeah you just gotta get out there and start. Documenting something normal is the easiest way to start. Get used to the camera being part of the journey and then add finesse and planning as you go
Once again you’ve knocked it out of the park. For me, you’ve almost re-written the rule book regarding making a video. This was funny, entertaining, educational, thrill-seeking with a dash of nostalgia thrown in for good measure. I don’t mind admitting that I started to get emotional watching it. It was a happy emotional moment. You made it look so much fun. The way you both fed off each other with reminiscing of days gone by and how things compare with modern film making practices, I just loved it mate. It’s watching videos like this Dillon that have inspired me to just give things a go. My videos may not be perfect but I’m looking for content that leaves you feeling the way I felt after watching this. In one word - Nostalgic. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Aaah David 🙏 thanks so much for sharing that. Means a lot man and I’m so happy that it’s hit all the right spots for you. Cos those are the videos I got creating the whole thing. It really helped having Ryan there to bounce ideas off and to film the stuff together and we had a good laugh doing some pretty normal stuff sauna aside lol
Yes Andy!! 🔥 glad to hear that. I think that social cycle just pulls you in and you go round in circles and it’s boring and demotivating . This was a breath of fresh air to make… it felt like it had some freedom to it.
Thanks dude, glad to hear that, I like longer slower videos too and find them fun to make, its never worked onYT before so Mayne there is a change in the air lol DEAR GOD I HOPE SO!
aaah great to hear it helped you. Yeah its all sorta similar across computers but once you know what you're looking for it makes secondary google searches a little easier lol
THANK YOU!!!! Saved me from ripping my hair out!! BTW it's still an issue with the 15 pro max. Although exporting in 4k via QuickTime didn't seem to be a problem. Thanks again!
Awesome dude glad it helped. I shared that hair pulling when I tried to fix this originally lol... I found a quicker way to do it which is in the video description as well.
thanks David, yeah I was pleasantly surprised by that hike, I had never been up there before and theres a lot more to explore over the top of that crest... maybe next time
