I’ve never been to these places, but it seems to me that you wouldn’t be able to travel to and from Las Vegas and see these places in five days. It looks like from Vegas to your first stop in Arches is a 6 hour drive? You suggest to start your day at 7 AM, so I’m guessing you intend the trip to start once you are in Moab. I read your article and I’m just trying to wrap my head around it.
It's possible but not optimal. I was asked by several people if they could tour all the parks in Utah from Las Vegas in about 5 days, and the answer is yes. But you won't have much time in each park. I was just in Utah again this past September and a better pace is to allow 7-10 days to do it all, but not everyone has that much time. Either way, the parks in Utah are amazing!
I have not tried it with butter, but the vegetable shortening is going to be a better option. I have seen similar recipes that use butter, but I have not tried it on these cookies. If you do, let me know how it turns out.
I made these yesterday and they are sinfully delicious. Mine took 45 minutes to cook in an 8x8 pyrek dish, but they were still chewy gooey good. Very east recipe to follow. On to the Guinness cake!!
