Such a wonderful group of young actors..River Phoenix was gone too soon. I grew up listening to Ben E King. My daughter and grandchildren listen to him with me and my daughter thank me for passing on my love of his music. R.I.P River and Ben..
River Phoenix would be 53 years old if somebody didn't hand him a mortal cocktail that killed him. Rest in Peace River nobody can hurt you now Justice will come
It’s so fascinating to look at the character of Barnes when one is doing so after having gained a certain level of life experience. As we grow older, most of us are able to step back and see that “bad guys” or everyday jerks aren’t as one note as we think they are. Maybe we see a moment of genuine humanity in them. Maybe we see a picture of their family, and we realize that someone loves them too. But we’re forced to recognize that they ARE human. That doesn’t mean that jerks don’t need to be called out, or that bad guys don’t need to be stopped. But MAYBE being aware of their humanity gives us a chance to get through to them. Great video, and a fitting song. This was a well done tribute to one of cinema’s most complex “bad men”.
Este tema de esa pelicula; me hace por unos minutos.revivir mis 12.años que no fue como debio ver sido.con amigos. Un mejoramigo.yo en aquel entonces.tenia un solo amigo.pero nada mas..
Your lyric timing to scene depiction is SUPERIOR ! BRAVO. Your actor lip sync to song lip sinc is even BETTER ! BRAVO, BRAVO ! BUT YOUR TENACITY IS LACKING. You have the SKILL. JUST KEEP TRYING. ILL BE WAITING FOR YOUR MASTERPIECE. Don't give in to disappointment. YOURS IS THE BEST, for what you have produced so far.
I recall this video when it was in MTV’s rotation, and I can remember feeling that the “gimme some skin” stuff (in the video; I hadn’t seen the film at that point) was kinda corny… And ‘Stand By Me’ (the song) had been a significant soundtrack tune in one of my favorite films of all time (The Wanderers, 1979), so at the time, the use of the song seemed sort of “copycat” to my young ears. When SBM was in theaters i was in between my junior & senior years in high school, so SBM didn’t seem to hold any relevance for me, as i had just passed that time of my life, and everybody is always telling others “don’t look back”… Fast-forward to 2022, and Stand By Me is, at this point in my life, is probably the film that currently brings me the most joy (and I have a lot of movies that I love). And nothing about the actors who play the two best friends who help each other get through the toughest time (up until then) of their young lives, or anything they do in the video, seems corny to me anymore. As I said, I can recall much about myself around the time SBM was in theaters, and I know the film didn’t hold much interest for me at the time. Now, at age 53, I’m sometimes left speechless at how well King nailed what it’s like for 12-year-old boys trying to make sense of a world coming toward them at 100 mph (see what I did there, unintentionally)… Makes me think of that U2 lyric: “Time is a train, makes the future the past; Leaves you standing in the station, Your face pressed up against the glass”.
Barnes was a prick. And the sad fact is I'd follow that prick into hell as we had our own Barnes in fallujah. Same as bunny. Every other mofo was a bunny. He's a book man, every page is something new. This was a grand vid, nicely done! I appreciate it. Edited well and the tunes smooth 👌
