Where is the closet? Whoever lives there can't have clothes as there is zero storage for even basic clothing. Having the bed on the floor is definitely not for everyone. I do love all the shelves in it.
I LOVE the use if colour here. So many spaces on NTS stick to white to create light. This space is so luxurious and rich because of the well chosen colors .
Where do you put your coat and shoes when you enter? Is it pleasant to stare into a full-height mirror from the toilet? How many times you can circle around the cabinets all opening random directions before you go insane? Has a bonus bed tho.
Architecture is just such a bad payed job…Its just sad that a woman her age lives in a one room Apartment, where you eat and sleep in the same room..because you can‘t affort a two room Apartment with just one income of an architect. I know from my own experience..
Even the bedroom, which is very small, doesn't seem so small because of the large window. I love all the light and air that must make this whole apartment feel like they're living outdoors.
I’d so much prefer to see creative storage solutions for people who actually live full time in small spaces. This space is certainly to some people’s taste but the strange slanted walls, cave like darkness, and reduced functionality from the original apartment layout make it very clear that this is the owner’s bonus home. The videos I actually want to finish watching and rewatch are the ones where you have actual dining space, actual living space, actual storage space and the personal touches which tell you the resident use the apartment for more than just occasional stopovers.
I live in a large 2 story house. I love having all the space I have. But I’d be perfectly happy in this little place. Smartly laid out, comfortable and homey, and kinda has a luxury or premium feel to it despite its small size. The cat makes it awesome!
Wow. This is one of the most beautiful, unique and functional apartments I've seen. I relate to the home owner wanting plants in every corner and room. Makes a huge difference!
When in the end Padro says "Its important you reusing buildings in historical centers, but it also important to also make them livable with a materials that will last for a long time" it really feels off. I mean in the beginning we can see totaly okay interior, some parts of which could`ve been easily reused. I dont mean you cannot change that, but saying big words about reusability and also fully redesigning such spaces feels hypocritic
Never too small should try living in a shack made out of pallets and sheet metal in South Sudan. They're living the dream over there on their dirt floors!
As an architect, the design doesn't seem practical since there's no real mattresses for 2 children, only one desk in the entire house, and not enough clothes/storage. It's beautiful though. Like many comments suggested, it feels more like a second house than the main one.
Loved the use of color and the space was incredibly well thought out. I like the minimalist furnishings but I might have opted for something more cozy for sitting on at the desk. I appreciated all the natural light and the fact that the balcony was an integral part of the living design. I could def see myself living there.
