Dot is probably dead at this point tbh. The spent all of 2.x buffing FuA and Break at the expense of all other comps then in 3.0 they are supposedly starting the summon meta so Hypercarry and DoT will continue to be neglected.
The Thing is that multiple RU-vidr Showed that If you put enough time and effort in a character. Even a Trash character Like Seele with a 4 Star f2p is able to clear the endgame content with 3 Stars. Thats why your Point "powercreep is real" is atleast for me Not valid. There are enough vids and proves that old characters still can clear the content.
A dot character whose dots can crit is dots only hope ngl qny other solution would be so good that it would be another universal buff character like rm imo
@@davidfrost5995 yh, someone mentioned that the next dot unit may be physical as the 4* units are being cycled through Hoyo and converted into upgrades, so we may be looking at a bleed DoT unit here too I hope
I wonder if they’ll release a new Kafka like character that can trigger dot. In that case do we replace Kafka or replace someone else on the standard dot team.
@@Lucifyz then kafka just gets stronger bc that unit will also be applying dot while the other unit that’s similar to kafka does the same so they basically enable the team twice as much by proc’ing other units and each others procs I’m guessing? I made a point in the video where Kafka is an apex unit and this kind of explains why. Her kit enabling dot just makes ‘her replacement’ another unit that just amplifies her kit even further, she’s basically impossible to powercreep
with Kafka BS and E2 JQ, just need the last slot to be special bleed DoT unit that maybe preservation or nihility defensive type unit... the more DoT unit the better so I can make 2 strong DoT team in the future... still using Sampo, Luka, Guinaifen to this day as sub DoT team...
@@nihilityuser_13 e2 jiaoqiu may be the best unit of as not, but that’s kind of expensive to access for f2p players or light spenders. Hopefully hoyo releases reliable units that aren’t locked by their eidolons
@@Myschyff true but with many archetype team we will get in the future, F2P and light spender must be selective to pull. Im a ligt spender too, after getting E2 Jiaoqiu, Im quite satisfied with the performance as a DoT enjoyer. even if there is another fire nihilty DoT chara in the future, Jiaoqiu is still be relevant because of his main strenght on vulnerability debuffer, and for DoT comps it is better to have variant too...
They only have a handful of archetypes to play around with. All of which have been in the game since day one; Hypercarry, Break, FUA, Counter, DoT, Debuff, HP Manipulation, and SP Heavy. They'll all have their time in the sun, and they'll all be revisited.

I'm hoping for a fire nihility trailblazer who's able to provide shields based on DOT. There's been sayings that there would be an ice destruction TB, so it wouldn't be impossible to have another trailblazer path with the same element. Maybe like: This TB needs to build a lot of CRIT dmg, and effect hit rate. Skill: Apply HEAVY DOT debuff scaling on def% on 1 single enemy. Ult: Applies HEAVY DOT debuff scaling on def% on all enemies. 50% chance to double each DOT debuff in an enemy. Applies [embracing oblivion] buff to self for 3 turns. Talent: The DOT dealt by allies will be converted by 1.5% of their damage dealt to shield (up to 1500 shield). The DOT dealt by allies will be converted by 1.5% of their damage dealt to recover their HP. All incoming debuff to party has a 30% chance to return back to the enemy doubled. When TB has the [embracing oblivion buff]: All DOT dealt by allies has a 50% chance to land 50% of TB's CRIT DMG. Eidolons: E1: Increases the chance to double each DOT debuff to 80% in ULT. E2: Talent's shield cap is increased to 2000, increases party's speed by 8%. E4: Increases the chance of debuff redirection to 80%. E6: ULT detonates 20% of the original damage of all DOT debuff to all enemies.
Kafka is the reason I downloaded this game, and has proven to be one of my favorite characters, so powercreep or not, she's coming home. I'm still a bit of a new player, so my only functional team thats even lvl 80 is the Firefly team. It would be nice if i could get her and Swan so i can play a team that covers other needs.
Trueeee. I was a bit skeptical ab the splash art of the units (i usually like them bc of that) bc I only saw asta, but when I saw kafka in the tutorial I immediately fell in love with her design and kit. I don’t see kafka being power crept anytime soon as she’s pretty much the only unit that enables dot to function the way it does, she actually has the potential to be a t0 unit if given a complete dot set up
Me too, my friend, dot on top. But it’s kind of in an awkward state, but hopefully things will get better. The entire point of the video is to share my thoughts and opinion regarding the archetype
I think the introduction of Acheron was suppose to the Nihility second wind. Releasing another Nihil unit that would buff up DOT kinda requires them to be a better dps than Kafka

Bc acheron just kind of acts as a hypercarry by dealing a crazy amount of dmg from her ult through debuffs rather than enabling the dot archetype. DoTcheron imo kind of defeats the whole concept of dot which is death by a thousand cuts rather than dropping a nuke ult

@@admin_troiier8790 that is up to you, this is just my opinion and prediction on how dot will be dominant soon, but that will probably take a long time for that to happen like maybe 2.7 or 2.8, i’d say wait for more reliable leaks ab changes to dot for now, but as dot player since 1.3, the dot playstyle is really fun
DoT is just so satisfying, I hope we get a harmony that buffs DoT like crazy lol Honestly, I feel like we have a good chance of this happening eventually
@@blankuser987 i completely agree, bro. I’ve been playing the archetype sonce 1.3, and haven’t seen any changes to the archetype after Black Swan. Robin is kind of okay but acts as a flex pick over Ruan Mei, so in current patches before DoT has been already been dominant. While in this meta, DoT thrives through Acheron (not remaining true to the concept), I don’t think we’ll be seeing upgrades until 2.7 or 2.8 but once we receive changes to the DoT comp, we’re gonna be eating good fr!!!
@@claudiowiseman8488 fitting in the team isn’t the same as having a whole kit dedicated towards that caters towards that specific achetype. That’s the same as me saying HuoHuo fits into the Superbreak team but she superbreak has better options available, DoT kind of the same but more expensive bc if we’re speaking best support overall for DoT atm, E2 Jiaoqiu would be better over Robin and Ruan Mei bc he’s a dedicated DoT DPS unit and deals vulnerability. TL;DR We need a dedicated harmony unit and DOT sustain/preservation unit to fully complete the DOT set, Ruan Mei and HuoHuo don’t fit the bill since we’re out with complete team set ups like how Gallagher and Ruan Mei is perfect for Firefly and how Robin is perfect for FuA

@@Number_254 yh, a preservation unit sounds good tbh. I tend to favour those more over healer units bc the extra beefiness makes me feel at ease - probably a hot take but gepard at the beginning of the game raised me like that ngl
I came back to the game recently and had enough tickets and pity saved from before to get Yunli, her lightcone, HuoHuo and Sparkle. The problem is that since i came back i have too many characters to get and to upgrade which is making my choices to summon on really difficult. I need Robin but i might have to skip her because i really need a 2nd dps that i am planning to be Rappa.

@@kernito_ow2444 that’s what I’m saying, but with how DoTcheron is still viable (unfortunately), I don’t think we are going to see any changes to DoT until 2.7. As we’re approaching 2.5, we’re reaching the maturity stage for FuA? Meaning they have a complete set for their teammates now through Feixiao/Ratio, Topaz, Robin, Aventurine. So I’m assuming we’re going to have like 2 patches onwards (so up until 2.7,) where teams like Superbreak, FuA will be dominant while Acheron will begin to decline slowly decline bc the new hp scalings on the boss are insane like a million more than the Aventurine boss in MoC. So, looking at it from that angle actually opens up the opportunity for DoT to take over as well as Erudition being at it’s growth stage
man dot damage is so low right now compared to everything else, im not saying it wont happen but they will need an insane unit to get them back to competitive numbers
yeah, it sucks that the only way to keep DoT viable is playing DoTcheron (Acheron with BS, Kafka). For me, playing that team comp kind of defeats the whole purpose of DoT and just stacks REAL DoT dmg with Acheron's ultimate, because of this I don't think we're going to see any game changing improvements until further later on. My speculation is that we expect changes maybe in 2.7? But that's just my guess, so don't take it seriously
@@jerryeljeremy7790 100% I was thinking ab it and with how the game is progressing with stronger enemies, I’m predicting we may be seeing maybe a 4* harmony unit then another 5* unit, idk. But with how we’re still able to run DoTcheron (unfortunately not being pure DOT comp) I think DoTcheron still stands as one of the most potent team comp, so we probably aren’t going to see DoT changes for awhile. BUTTT, the future for dot is very promising!!!

@@MyschyffI think the 5* Tingyun would be 2.8, with Sunday in 2.7 (so second half lines up with Christmas, with Sunday being then). Since we only have Rappa in 2.6, having one 5* for 2.7 and 2.8 before the new planet could be what they do
dot is dead. kafka and black swan already rerunning here soon with no support with it. if this was going to happen they would have ran a support with the reruns to sell the new dot support.
@@fanboy6156 dot isn’t dead, dot as of now is incomplete or in an awkward spot in the meta since you’re able to run DoTcheron but have a harder time piloting pure dot - and DoTcheron being a better counterpart of the two somehow. I don’t think Hoyo is going to release dot supports on their banner, probably on a later banner as a 4* unit to encourage players pulling for whatever new 5* unit they released, problem is it’s probably going to take like 1-2 patches after 1.5 before we see any real changes to dot. Maybe we’ll see it in the form of a 5* unit, but that’s just making the set up premium set up expensive.Saying that the archetype is dead is the same as me saying FuA died when it was just Ratio and Topaz until we got Robin and Aventurine and before that FuA teams were viable
I'm getting feixiao even though im a f2p beginner player mainly because: no.1 I love her design and character, no.2 I'm sick and tired of Acheron and Firefly teams dominating the meta, no.3 THATS A LOT OF DAMAGE

In my nee video ab the upcoming leaks regarding the kafka and black swan rerun and how dot might take over, I’ve covered how dot might be the new once we shift out of the follow up attack, acheron, and superbreak meta. BUUUT, if you still want to pull for feixiao, go for it! At the end of the day it’s a game, and games are designed for players to enjoy! So good luck on your rolls!!!
Hmm I assume the meta of DoT like other team comps will soon just be in rotation. For now its break, FuA, and later summons but no one knows what kind of summons, most likely they'll make summon types of each team comp

These are just based on my guesses, and with the release of Jade and patch leaks of Kafka and Black Swan reruns, it looks like we’ll be making a slow transition into an Erudition and pure DoT meta. Again, my assumption, but this seems to make the most sense in my opinion. Then, once we have fully established teams, hoyo will just keep cycling releasing through the archetypes while they produce harder endgame content

Basically, the potential for dot is frightening since we have such little units to work with in game
DoT hasn’t received any dedicated support units unlike FuA and Superbreak. I’ve established the PROBLEMS, with DOT for 3 mins in the video: the team lacks units (Superbreak and FUA) have their dedicated units in case you haven’t noticed. Absurdly expensive, DOT, on the other hand, is lacking characters that are catered towards its archetype. I legit talk how the Meta would change after FUA and Superbreak. DOT is already expensive enough, demanding things like characters (if you want to play the premium team), GOOD relic stats, so on, and eidolons. DOT may be in a spot in an awkward spot right now, but like FUA that is receiving support through Feixiao - we should be expecting harmony supports for DOT. Pure DOT has been able it’s own within this meta, an archetype that doesn’t truly fall behind, so as we progress over time, DOT will be dominant.
@Myschyff there is no guarantee there will be a dedicated Dot support or new Dot dps for that matter. They seem to be more inclined to make new playstyles rather than resurrect old ones
@@dante19890 DOT hasn’t been a complete playstyle since its release? Ruan Mei, an HuoHuo are NOT dedicated support units. They’re great flex picks, but they don’t purely dedicate themselves to support for DOT - which is inflicting more damage the more the enemy advances. Your point is the same as me arguing that FUA is already been a complete team with Topaz and Ratio alone - bare in mind, being the only dedicated limited FUA attack units at time. However, as the game progressed, we received units like Aventurine and Robin that actually cater the archetypes needs. DOT does not have that luxury. This is the same argument as ‘Ratio an Topaz already complete FUA, why are we receiving units now?’

People who like a character will pull for them regardless. But if you're someone who saves for someone better, then, no The Hunt characters are worth pulling, because even the strongest ones like Boothill will perform worse than a Destruction character, because they can only target one enemy at a time

I rarely comment on youtube but man good job! You explained her kit very well and the gameplay tips are really helpful, they are not really common amongst the guidemakers so I appreciate it. Thank you for your work keep it up! If I can leave a sugestion maybe next time you can add written description of Eidolons because it really helps to understand them better (I have ADHD and I had to watch it 3 times to really understand whats going on hahah 😅) Anyways as for Feixiao I LOVE HER SO MUCH definitely pulling!

I thought about adding Eidolon descriptions too, but was under the assumption a lot of ppl were aware of what they do (and since I covered it on another analysis video) so this is just me yapping on ab the quality of life changes. One thing I do like about Feixiao is that she is a carry that can make good use of Triple hunt comp. Topaz and Moze will be the best with her but M7 and Moze (Ideally with Topaz sig) can also work. Meaning Robin can be used on the other side, especially when her insane value is being more realized in more teams now. Even hypercarry teams performs better with Robin.
