Thanks for the Nice comments... a little falsetto works wonders... : p ) thanks so much for listening. Check us out on Spotify. We have a new album call Texas Pride "Making Music Since 1977" a cover album in 2022 with 4 songs from our Chance Album released in 1985. These were re-cut in my home studio and sang by Carl Merta filling in for the late Jeff Chance since his passing in 2008.
Hi Irene, we appreciate you tuning in anyway... No one ever performs a cover as good as the original artist. We always really enjoyed playing this song though.... thanks again for checking us out.
thanks Warren... some old video from yesteryear... Hope you check out my other Channel John Buckley Anderson with these videos and more videos from Texas Pride and Chance after we got our record deal in 1985...
Thank you so much John, I will check it out! Being in my late 30s from England, I had to visit record fairs as a kid and rely on recommendations to access Southern rock and country music. Things have changed a little since then! Thanks again, and stay safe.
John, I probably saw/met you if you were at Dance Town in Houston. Was there ever a video made of Jeff singing In the Still of the Night? He did a great job on that song. I would love to have a video or audio of that.
I went to school with Jeff and Mickey. Jeff was a year behind me and Mickey a year ahead. We played together in the Louise High School band. Used to go see them at Dance Town in Houston. It was so sad when he untimely passed away. I miss his huge talent to this day.
Hi Vernon, Jeff was certainly a talented individual... I enjoyed making music with Jeff and the guys all those years, I feel we had a special chemistry between us. Thanks for tuning in and keep a look out for future posts on RU-vid and Facebook Chance-Texas Pride tribute page. John Buckley Anderson
Hi Bruce i believe mine was early 70's... I had it when i played with the Barons before Texas Pride. : ) Jeff's had JBL speakers for his steel... we had a bad wreck and Jeff's get destroyed and I traded mine in on a Peavey 400 power amp that's when I bought the Peavey Stereo Chorus 400 which i still have. : )
That's definitely right there in my hey-day. I've been dancing in that ballroom a time or two or three or more during that time and was there to see these fellas perform this song there.
Its great to have this music on RU-vid. Eddie treasured these times that he got to follow Texas Pride. Gosh I want to say that he followed yall for 15 to 20 years. Rest In Peace, Jeff we love and miss you. Thanks again for the great memories. God bless you!
Knew Jeff really well-It was so sad when he passed away 3 years ago-Went to hear him when he sat in with The Velvets to play steel guitar on a New Years Eve in Moulton-He played with The Barons as well- Jeff and his band was really popular in the South Texas area- He grew up in the El Campo area-=His son Jeff Junior plays in a band called The Emotions-His brother Mickey also played drums in the group-He still lives in El Campo. Frank Sebsta and John Anderson still play in bands
@swellcat66 thanks for watching.... there is actually a lot more footage of this gig that I have not had time to edit & post but hopefully sometime in the near future. Keep watching and eventually I will get more up on the web.
Just like tguy321, I saw Texas Pride/Chance a bunch of times at DanceTownUSA and Bill Mraz Ballroom. I met my wife at DanceTown 22 years ago through a blind-date. Still very happily married. Just thought I'd throw that in. I still have a Jeff Chance cassette tape. Think I'll have a beer in the garage and listen to it. Cheers to Texas Pride/ The Jeff Chance Band.
his son jeff chance barosh jr. plays drums for us now, you're more than welcome to come out to a show and say hi and talk about good times :) Richard from The Emotions
I am sorry to say that Jeff passed away 2 years ago..... those days were very special to all the guys in Texas Pride which evolved into the group Chance. Thanks for watching. John
