Love the pocket money for ye & what it covers. If it covers hobbies then why is your husbands gym membership coming out of exercise & ye you have no exercise for yourself?
Thankyou it really works well for us. I did have a gym membership at the start of the year and the direct debits were coming out of our joint bank account hence why they are in our main house budget. I cancelled my membership in May 24 as I just wasn’t going enough😬 there is still money for me to use for exercise but I’ll be honest I’ve been pretty slack these past couple of months🫣 and definitely something I need to start motivating myself to do again!! Thankyou for watching appreciate it so much💜💜 have a wonderful weekend!
I buy eath choice dish detergent for dishes And eath choice washing power If I need to soak or spray then I use the one in adi Dish detergent also in chemist wear house
I’ve not tried the Earth Choice washing powder is it good? I currently use Ecostore washing powder, I always buy a few boxes when it goes on sale -last time it was 40% off in chemist warehouse. You really do have to shop around these days!😊 Thankyou for watching💜
pet sitting and housesitting is another easy (and very enjoyable!) side hustle. 🐶😺 as well as dog walking and basic lawn mowing for older people who cant get out and do it any longer.
@@jodiesbudgetlife amazing! Well done you🙌🏻 I always think pet sitting is great for those who cannot have a pet of their own (for whatever reason) Thankyou for sharing💜
Hi Eric, good question as I only touched this subject briefly - each month all our income goes into our offset account from here we spend our monthly expenses (which I’ve documented in this video) there is always a surplus of funds and these savings just build up in our offset to reduce our mortgage interest🙂 Thankyou for watching!
I see your budget video and a little of this, as it's more about grocery, thus I comment here instead of there. I just thought you spend only $100 in Aldi, and spend $900 to both Coles+Woolies, you're under spending in Aldi as that's where should be the biggest saving is.
Hello I appreciate your comment thankyou! And yes I agree you can get great savings in ALDI -the reasons we use the bigger 2 supermarkets more is they do have a larger selection & we do favour particular brands i.e. Margaret river eggs🥚 I do save 14% on the majority of my Woolworths shopping💰 and I admit the convenience of online shopping with Coles/Woolies is beneficial as a mum of 3 small kids -it’s quicker/less stressful doing an online click n collect shop! Thankyou for your comment it will make me consider shopping at ALDI more because I actually really enjoy going there😊
Hi good question as I only touched this subject briefly - each month all our income goes into our offset account from here we spend our monthly expenses (which I’ve documented in this video) there is always a surplus of funds and these savings just build up in our offset to reduce our mortgage interest. We are saving for these individual items, it’s just all in one big pot for now and I have my annual budget/forecast so I know when these expenses are due. Thankyou for watching!
Thank you, great budget set, I have been trying to do ours for years but gave up, you have now inspired me to try again. Would love to know more about how you set up your spreadsheets / template. New subscriber here!
The school contributions are optional (assuming public school), save yourself some money. No matter how many angry letters you get from the school you do not have to pay this. You can confirm with a quick google.
@SpookFilthy it's not leeching, you pay for schooling in taxes. Anything on top is not paying for the curriculum, it's to cover the schools' poor money management or nice to haves..
Yep the kids are in public school and I’m fully aware the contributions are optional, however we are more than happy to contribute to our children’s education🙂 Thankyou for watching👍🏻
I'd love to hear some tips about how you keep your electricity bill so low. I live in Perth too, and our bill is at least $400 every 2 months 😥. Thanks for another detailed and interesting video :)
Hi Rosemary, I should have mentioned we do have solar panels -had them installed a few years ago now -to get the most power from them we use our BIG appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer) between the hours of 8am-2pm and it definitely saves us money! I’m lucky enough to be at home most days but if I am going out I will set the delay timer on them👍🏻 Thankyou so much for watching my fellow Perth friend :)
@@MoneySmartMum You've given me some great money saving tips with your videos. I appreciate the effort you put into them. I've just booked two consults for solar quotes so wish me luck :)
@@rosemarymason709Wow I love this!! It is a big upfront investment but I certain we’ve made our money back (not done the calculations to be exact) Good luck Rosemary and please do let me know how you go💜 Thankyou
@18:42 "we don't really eat out so we buy nicer food from the supermarket". @11:50 "here's our misc spending...cafe's, mcdonalds, krispy creme etc...$544 per month". Since you have all this great information you need Caleb Hammer to carry out an audit. 🤣🤣🤣
I love watching Caleb, he’s great isn’t he!!! And you are absolutely right, once I rewatched my video I thought EXACTLY the same🙈 I think when I say ‘eating out’ I mean going out for dinner at night time. This video has shown me my downfalls😆 and I will definitely be trying better in July🤞🏻🙂 Thankyou for watching my video really appreciate it being a new you tuber. Have a great week!!!
@@selgeausthat’s excellent!!! Something we need to focus on, I’m thinking I should have another column in my spreadsheet now to keep better track. Always room for improvement 👍🏻
Thank you for sharing all this, I really like the way you've setup your budget/template - I think I'll incorporate a few of those tabs. Also it's wild to me that I'm paying vastly more in rent than your mortgage 😂🤣😅🥲 oof.
Thankyou!! It’s been a work in progress for years😆 my husband thinks I’m over the top but i love a good spreadsheet🤓 I will say we do have a small house (on a 300m block) and this does reflect the low payment. I know and understand how painful rent payments are at the moment😠 it’s not good -are you also in Perth?
@@MoneySmartMum Thanks for the reply! we're currently in SA on a 280m lot, our rent just went up $180 a week for our new lease but because there are so few rentals available we didn't really have a choice 😅 I also love a good spreadsheet, probably too much! But I really like your layout, it's cleaner than my current setup so I've already made a few changes to mine now because of it 😁
Thanks for sharing this , something that I have been searching for based on Australia . Can you please do a video of like how you would setup something similar to your sheet from scratch as a new beginning. Looking forward to watching your videos.
Thankyou for watching💜 And yes I will absolutely do a ‘how I set my budget up video’ thankyou for the suggestion it’s good to hear what people are looking for🙂
Thankyou💜 We moved to OZ about 10 years ago now, we still feel it was the best decision we’ve made! (For us) Yes they accept CIMA🙂 we applied for permanent residency whilst in the UK, I used my ACCA qualification to get us the visas! Are you thinking of moving down under then?🙃
It’s called ‘the healthy slow cooker book’ but I can’t see it online anymore.. I’ll dig it out later and let you know who the author is x I do TRY to plan my weekly menu & in turn plan my shopping list and then it really is just adding on all the basics for brekkie/lunch boxes & checking cleaning/bathroom supplies. It can be timely but it’s just one of those chores we need to do😄 Thankyou for commenting xx
Thankyou!!! I actually really enjoyed doing the voiceover and I think the sound quality is better so I should do more😊 And yep that’s me I like organising into groups😄💜💜
Well actually Woolworths went through a phase of only letting you use the 10% off in store but there was such an uproar about it all that they changed their minds in Nov 23 and you can now use it online too. The thing is I’ve found that I can use my 10% code once in store & again online each month so that’s what I do😊 (sure they’ll cotton on to it soon enough😉)
@@MoneySmartMum Yes and l am web dev , if you want a website or app or blog , just let me know , l will be happy to develop that for you , all respect ♥️🥰
Thankyou so much!! Yes we are doing regular small top up shops as well -mainly at ALDI, I find they have the best fruit n veg😊 All combined we spend about AU$1,800 a month on groceries/coffee pods/cleaning products/nappies -it’s a LOT we can do better I’m sure!! Thankyou for commenting and I will be getting out new videos soon💜💜
Hello, I loved your grocery haul and wish I could get some of the items you have here in America. I never had Kangaroo burgers, but sounds like they are tasty. You did get a lot of items and paid a good price too!
Hi Debra! Thankyou so much for commenting :) If you ever get the chance you must try a kangaroo burger, they're so tasty and a great choice of meat -very low in fat, high iron and high protein -all good stuff for growing kids :) Stay tuned i hope to make more videos soon!!! x
Don't forget the $5.50 refund you'll get when you take the drink containers in to get your container deposit back, although I'm not sure if WA does it on all those drinks
Hi Helen :) Yes we do get the 10c for the drink containers here in WA too!! Quite a new thing for us over here but its becoming very popular - its great and a good way to get the kids involved in recycling too :) win win!! thankyou for commenting xx
@@MoneySmartMum we've had it in SA/NT for about 40 odd years, since last century lol. 1L glass coke bottles used to have 20c on them which as you could imagine was a lot! and a good way to get some extra pocket money
Oh wow really!! I didn’t realise these schemes had been around for so long! Growing up in the UK we didn’t have them and when my Dad came to visit at Easter I took him to the drive thru one & he thought it was excellent!!lol typical Dad😅
Well I have my house insurance with Woolworths and every month they give me 10% off a grocery shop of my choice, to get the most discount I do a BIG shop and use it then. You can also get the 10% discount if you have any other Woolies Insurance, Woolies Mobile plan OR you can pay $7 a month to join their Everyday Extra club which also gives you the discount. I generally don't like paying 'membership fees' but this one will save you money!! I made a video on how to do the above I will link it below for you :)
