Hope you see this message. Is so difficult for me to see the actual colors on my phone. I'm trying to see if any of those reds look orangy when diluted. Orangy not pinkish. I bought several reds but when they are diluted they look pinkish. 😢 Could you help me with this, please?
@AveniusArt
@AveniusArt 4 месяца назад
Hey :) Of course I see all your comments and always try to answer them :) Just took out the swatch sheet again to look for the warm reds you're referring to. If you want a more orange undertone the ones you'll probably want to go for are: 117 Light cadmium red, 118 Scarlet red and if you want a red that is just pure red without leaning towards warm or cool there's also 223 Deep red. The others are indeed more leaning towards the purple and pinkish cool side. I recommend whenever you're dealing with colour and swatches best turn your eye comfort mode on the phone off and best watch on a bigger screen like on a tablet, it's indeed hard to tell on a small phone screen, that's true. Hope I was able to help!

♥ The usage is simple, just like with the coliros, put water on there, let them sit for a few minutes and then stir until you have a creamy consistency. Then apply. Sometimes you have to go back and forth a little bit if you have a paper that won't grab onto the paint immediately. Also don't apply them too heavily, thick and liquid because otherwise they will dry down uneven and eventually with a sticky puddle on top. When they're drying, just every now and then stir the paint around a little on the paper so it distributes and dries down evenly. You can also soak off excess water with a dry paintbrush that you just dip into the applied paint patch. Just don't thin them down too much with water because then the pigment won't stick anymore to the paper but instead to your fingers when you touch the picture. A little pastel fixative can help here though I found out :) These paints do have their quirks but once you found them out there's no problem anymore.

Yeah I do agree with you ... really really pretty, but I've been looking around together with my best friends for pigments like that and they're not that expensive ... However when I look around at sellers like let's say Skrim colours or so ... they also don't sell for much less. I think it comes with the cost of owning a business this size here in germany. Many outsource to other countries because there are soo many fees, taxes and whatnot if you produce here, the more you earn, the more they want from you and that needs to be calculated in somehow into the prices ... Maybe that is the culprit here with these paints as well. Just a theory.

@AveniusArt
@AveniusArt 10 месяцев назад
Thank you ♥ Paul Rubens? Unfortunately I have to say I never heard of those, will have to look them up. But what I can say so far is that the Lisilinka ones can't be compared to ordinary metallics because they're extremely glittery watcercolours. Gonna have to look up the Paul Rubens ones because now you got me interested Edit: Okay I found them on Amazon ... from what I can see they're really more on the metallic side, I don't see any sparkle ... I'd compare them more to the Coliro / Finetec ones to be honest. Or the Kuretake Gansai Tambi, they seem similar. Might try out the Paul Rubens ones just for fun though one day when I've got some money left, they look interesting :)

@liddlealice431
@liddlealice431 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for swatching these, I have just learned about this brand and was baffled when I saw how stupidly expensive they were! The price is not justified in my opinion. There are similar sparkly watercolors like these or even better ones for far,far,far less. Yes, the sparkles are nice but they are way too expensive for what they are, you could buy so many Schmincke pans/half pans with that money. 135 EUR for 7 pans slightly larger than half pans is RIDICULOUS. I paid about 80 EUR for a Finetec set of 24, which are amazing quality.
@AveniusArt
@AveniusArt 11 месяцев назад
The thing is though you can't compare finetec / coliro to these. The finetec ones are mica pigment with a pearlescent finish and more on the metallic side and quite cheap to source, whereas these ones here are almost sparkling like liquid diamonds when being applied. I do have the same thought as you though, a friend and I also have been looking for pigments and stuff and also think those paints are overpriced compared to what the pigments cost. Then again you have to take into account that the company these paints come from is still young and does have a legal form that requires a business plan for registering here = of course the authorities want to see you succeed and also you need to bring the money back in that you invested in the first place on everything to keep the business running. Especially when you perhaps took up a loan at the bank to make it happen. They are stupidly expensive but there's also a lot behind a company like this, so let's wait and see, maybe over time they will get cheaper. For comparison though also look at Skrim colours or so ... they don't sell for much less. They also use aurora pigments, shifting ones etc and these alone are already very expensive when you buy them from the manufacturer. Not sure how it is with these highly sparkling pigments here. They could cost a lot, they could be cheap. I haven't found out yet where she sources them. With the Lisi ones one also has to consider that they always come in boxes etc and not a simple small packaged half pan like many others. The packaging also costs money. Especially the resin in the early days also must have costed a fortune ... But yeah. Just my five cents on that. I still think they're pretty and I personally see them more of like collector items. They are eye candy but I don't urge anyone to buy them. They're a neat little something to have for some special effects in paintings, that's it for me :)

@AveniusArt
@AveniusArt Год назад
Yep, same here, never saw anything comparable and am still floored every time I have new ones in the mail ... Don't wanna miss them anymore in my tool box. As for drying time ... I'd say they have a similar drying time to other metallic watercolours / even normal watercolours if you really use a lot of water. With these it also depends on how much water you use, you need a certain amount to get coverage / fluidity, but if you apply the paint thick and covering it will take a while to dry. Just finished another piee with these and I'd say a fully covered bigger spot needs 10-15 minutes. I don't recomment a hair dryer by the way because the faster drying distorts the colour and sparkle and makes them look patchy. They really need to settle out in peace to look the prettiest.

Thank you so much, and welcome among my subscribers ♥ My way of drawing ... it's funny because I don't really have a system I go by, it's mostly "learning by doing" 😆 The process you see in the video seemed the best way to get things done, and I'm happy you find it useful 🙂 Also sorry for a maybe late answer, because for whatever reason youtube had decided to hold back your comment for me to check it first ?_? Sometimes things are strange here. Apologies. By the way I checked your channel and have to say man, you're on a good way, your artwork looks awesome 😮 Well done! I also love to work with coloured pencils but I never get around to do as much with them as I'd like to 😑
