At time frame 2:55, this video mentions four main waves form: Gamma, Beta, Alpha and Theta. Gamma waves usually not dealt in EEG and are in range more than 35 Hz. The author might want to mention Delta wave instead of Gamma.
I'm Epileptic, have been for about 38 years. I have had numerous EEGs. I find that an EEG brings on seizures. During the EEG each of those pulse is reduced just as I am about to have seizure. But the seizures dont just "go away", they are just postponed! Within 12-18 hours the seizures begin. And not just one or two it will continue for about 14 days. I know thats not the case for everyone, as a child my epilepsy wad much milder and EEG did not trigger seuzures. But it certainly does now!
I got an eeg appointment soon due to me passing out at work last week that left me with a frontal part of my tongue numb. Been suffering from cluster headaches for 15 yrs now and recently been suffering from anxiety attacks. Hope this test help to figure what is going on with this crazy brain of mine.
Hi thank you for your very informative video, I am a professor of biomedical Engineering in Iran and I would like to use some of your videos in my classes with Persian subtitle and share them in my social media shared with a small group of my students . So I would like to ask for your permission for that . I would definitely mention the source. so would you please grant me the permission . (of course it would be used only for educational purposes)
Hi guys, we've been directed to this video for our Masters of Neuroscience studies. Any chance you can allow the Transcript function so we can reference the video and its text?
Hello, My name is Nuno and I start using EGI NET STATION. I have many doubts in the values of amplitude and power that the system measures. Can anyone from your lab help me? Please :) Thanks
Haha. About 1% of those doing EEG either clinically or in research would use a saline net like this. Although it is fast, it cannot be recorded for long periods of time like traditional individual electrodes that are simply "glued" on with electrode paste.
Saline to act as an electrolyte. EEG is really never done with a NET. They would normally just glue ( with electrode past) individual electrodes to the head.
I am interested in the recording of dreaming EEG waves. I have no medical training. Can anyone buy such equipment? And would it be a violation of any laws for me to do so since the use of an EEG is non-invasive? My mother is in hospital right now from having numerous seizures, they are about to do this test on her while she is sedated! This video helped me better understand what they were doing this for! Very informative! Praying for positive results! 🙏🙏
Great video, thanks! I'm a personal trainer, and I'm taking one of my clients to an EEG today. I'll be able to explain it to her so she'll understand better. Visit my exercise/beauty/travel channel when you can, pleeeeease!
Bloom Institute for Mind, Brain & Education Your video helps me a lot because it is recommended by our professor of marketing research course:) and would you please tell me the name of music at the beginning and in the end?
Neurology is practiced by a medical doctor and deals with treating disorders of the mind. Neuroscience, on the other had, is practiced by research scientist for the purpose of learning more about the mind and brain.
Personally, I would have used a more mellow beat with a soft melody to really emphasise the points made. Hmmmmm I wonder if she ever got the pencil off her head, scratch scratch, hehehehe, such pleeeeasure, hehehehe.
Personally I found the first half of the video rather dull. I did thoroughly enjoy both the music and the scalp! Made the video as far as I am concerned.. 10/10 would wank again :) x
I really really enjoyed watching this video! It gave me tingles up my spine learning about all the amazing features of the human brain! SO much love to the creator. I also loved the music
Another weakness of EEG, besides poor spatial resolution, is that Jello gives out "brain activity" as found in 1974 by Adrian Upton, a pioneer researcher on EEG.
