A photographer for many years now, first SLR was about 20 years ago, processed my own film and prints in the darkroom, then a switch to digital in 2005 or so. I decided in 2008 that I was going to return to black and white only and have been there ever since. I do have some colour work on my website from my travels.
Exceptional and touching! Christine manages to convey the feminine emotional and imediate energy and the roughness and longer lasting impression of the work in B&W! ...and she does not fall for the fakery of "modernism... just good light, good composition and tech skills! Cudos to the lady... she deserves some more recognition and hommage!
Beautiful series of images, Christine - I have just discovered your channel and instantly subscribed! Like others, I love the tones of these photographs, which seem to combine great dynamic range without ever exaggerating contrast. The result is unfailingly gentle and evocative. I wonder if age plays into my reaction as well...I'm 63, so the qualities I mention, and your use of black and white, transport me back to my childhood. I've often felt in recent times, actually, that simply leaving the city to drive through regional Victoria has a comparable effect, because there's been less physical change there than in the urban environment. Driving into the countryside is like driving into the past, and I felt the same thing watching this wonderful 'Ken Burns' style video. 👏👏👏🙂
@@user-kj3ch3ke8m wow thank you so much, I often feel like I'm escaping, this is what my father used to do, and he would take a photo and then paint it. He was a travelling salesman for Cadbury in NZ, so he was on the road quite a bit.
Superbe comme toujours. Des univers qui transportent dans des ailleurs. J'aime beaucoup l'escalier en bois qui mène au ciel ! Bravo Christine et merci.
Referred here by a friend, wonderful video! The image at 1:08 made my mouth drop and exclaim, "Oh My!" - and believe me, that doesn't happen very often! So many beautiful images, like the one at 3:00 and the one at 3:45 and 6:00! And I am embarrassed to realize I didn't recognize the Pat Metheny music - been too long since I heard them I guess - great choice! New subscriber - cheers!
Christine, all these images were fantastic. At times I thought these were film photos and then thought they were digital. Which were they or a mix of both? Really beautiful work.
Absolument Sublime ! Cela change de vos vues habituelles de paysages mais j'adore. Quelle poésie, quel charme, quel regard dans vos sujets de photos ! Ah ! Passion photo... quand tu nous tiens... ! Et la musique est toujours aussi Top. BRAVO et Merci de Bourgogne / France 🍷 A vôtre santé !
Thank you Agnes for your comment, I really like photographing everything and concentrate mostly on the light, and how it can transform something very ordinary. When the weather is just too awful I can photograph inside, usually using just window light. I wasn't sure about the music it pretty alternative for alot of people ,but I heard it and had to to do something with it , I've been revisiting alot of David Sylvian's music recently it's definitely not for everyone. I'm glad you liked it 😊
Merci Christine.
oh i’m surprised, that it surfaced for you , unfortunately for the most part I'm buried by the algorithm , thank you for watching and appreciate your continued support 😊
Hi Christine, fantastic images and great choice of music too! I shall be binge watching the rest of you films for sure. Thank you for sharing your work 😊
Excellent presentation! The photograph that grabbed my attention is time hacked at 1:50. You can feel it moving and coursing over the landscape as you share your story.
