2014 900XP, my rear shocks keep blowing oil. Replaced them and on the first ride, one of the new shocks leaked oil. My rear preload is only about 2 inches because I have High Lift A arms and Radius arms, 30" tires. my ground clearance is 13 1/2 in the rear and 14 1/4 in front. I really don't need more clearance but is my rear preload too short causing the shock to bottom out??? Any help would be appreciated.
We were out for ride just cruzin 40 mph and started to lose power no light came on tell we got home 10 miles away. We be good for bit then lose power and always when I got up to 40mph. Throwing code 90 and 92
Just as a heads up out there, he said 17 ft./lbs, or 204 ft/lbs on his torque wrench, when he meant 204 inch/lbs. I'm sure most of you caught it, but, just in case
Good morning my 2017 rzr runs grate for about a hour after that it goes in to limp mode no power and won’t idle just dies and it looks like it’s fouling out the spark plugs any ideas what it might be ?
Good morning I have a 2017 rzr xp4 that runs grate for about an hour after that it will go in to limp mode and have no power. After it cooled down it will run perfect agin any ideas of what the issue could be ?
My 900 is actually misfiring at throwing codes. Has fresh top end. And new head and Valves. Ran good for maybe 30 miles. Now runs terrible and spitting sputtering and popping. Has new fuel pump too. I’m lost!!! Maybe jumped a tooth I just don’t know. Thanks
Hello Gary, We just purchased a Polaris 2018 General 4 1000 with 518 miles on it. We have taken it out for several rides and it started just fine. Tried to go for a ride yesterday and it wouldn't start. Cleaned the battery terminals. No start. Purchased a new battery and installed it. No start. The dash lights turn on, the headlights turn on. Any suggestions you could provide would be appreciated. Thank you! Robyn
Thank you for this video. I've had my 2017 xp4 turbo for last 2 years and just recently on my last 2 trips I've gotten codes 35590 and 35991 my machine pops these codes after about hr of running the machine hard and I loose all power. I turn off machine wait a min and turn it back on and I have power again then drive about a mile and codes go away then about another hr or 2 I'll be fine before I repeat process. This is never happened to me until this year and was after I did my maintenance on it. Changed all fluids in machine new brakes new plugs cleaned out belt and clutch new s n b air filter. I do have an s n b air filter separator kit on machine and a blow hole for belt with a scoop going into the frogskin. I don't have the equipment u have but where do u think I should start?
this is what i am looking for ,my 22 just got a check engine light when i was out yesterday ,once i find the problem how do you clear the light ? and below you say Most common problem is valve’s out of adjustment ,how do you know if its the valves ,is it noise or just from experience
Hey Gary I have a 2021 rzr 1000 . The engine has a miss # 1 cly when the engine gets a little heat it runs fine. I have good spark on that cly and the injector has 12 volts. Not sure about the ground signal from the ecm . One other thing is about 50 mph the engine will lose power you can turn the engine off with it still in high gear turn the switch back on and it's fine until till you reach 50 mph again. Thank you
I have a 2016 RZR 1000S Hard staring when cold. They took to a dealer, and they went through and the only thing they found was cyl low compression. They updated the computer and when through with scanner If, I prime it in the morning it starts all day.
Nice video! Just purchased a 2017 highlifter 1000 ranger XP and didn't notice until we got it home that it has this "rattle" or "rocks spinning in a can" noise up front. Doesn't do it in 4x4 though. Only has 760 miles and now I'm worried it needs a front diff. Different forums say to upgrade the prop shaft to the cv style and that fixes the noise everyone has. Is this accurate? Would love your opinion if you see this after 2 yrs of this video!!
He has been advised to purchase a dual rate spring kit. but when the ride height from the stock springs is 2" low from Polaris specification it actually rides better because now it is inside of Polaris spec. And the bonus of not hitting every rock in the trail. thanks for your comment
The only problem with his you set it is it’s unloaded. Understandable you can’t go any higher in the rear but setting the ride height without the passenger weight in it means it won’t be sitting at 15.5” like it should when riding. Having it at the correct height with no passenger weight is just wrong
Welp.. the tire pressure is always off because polaris factory tires are trash and leak. Great video though definitely answers my questions about suspension adjustments
GREAT video. I have a question... I have a 2017 XP 1000 EPS and it has the single spring on the front. The top of the spring has completely compressed coils. That can't be good? What would you recommend if I just want to replace the front coils? Do I need to replace the shock as well or is there a direct replacement for the single coils? Thanks!!
Great video! Are those the OEM springs from Polaris? How do you determine the ride height? Are you actually measuring the tire, as some tires vary from the markings on the sidewall? How did you determine ride height to be 15.5 when half of 32” is 16 + 1” would be 17”
Hi Jeff, the stock ride height is 14.5" for this stock Pro XP and I added 1" for the larger tires, so we wanted to get 15.5" we got close but ran out of movement on the rear.
