This has never really fallen on thought to me, I mean even though there's already a bike parked there, I would try both sides. I just go with the most comfortable way to lock at the time. Whatever let's me secure my bike properly is the way I lock. Which is my most secure lock through the rear triangle and a chain lock through the front wheel and frame. The d lock faces whatever way is easiest to get it on.
I don’t live there! I’m sure other countries have it worse. But I live in Toronto and pay taxes for the government to hire workers to clean up the streets and sidewalks.
Why is it that as soon as people are on bicycles their lives suddenly become less value. There needs to at least be more laws protecting cyclists including giving them the right of way over all vehicles and if a bike lane is blocked they should be able to take the sidewalk.
There’s too many motorists way too anxious and way too many condo construction with too many construction trucks that don’t know how to drive properly! Oh, btw…. Nice to see this as a Dutch person i can tell you we had similar marches(bit bigger maybe but still) in the 70's for our road network became more like its today (and people still die in traffic just the nature of the game)
So sad 😢 if only motorists could slow down and respect others that are more vulnerable on the streets. There’s a way to share the streets to help prevent anymore accidents.
