Possibly yes, would love to revisit more of his stuff, but I feel like, for the growth of my channel though, that I have to mix things up with other artists/songs/albums etc. Still much appreciated!
Devil is a liar and a decevier as we learn in the book of Genesis, so please rather have sympathy for Lord Jesus Christ who suffered unimaganably for us so that we could have eternal life with Him. Devil hates us all because we are made in God's image so don't follow him because he will lead you to eternal suffering once this short life on Earth is over😞
I think Ezra Pound is a great poet, but his books are definitely a hard read. I've read all of his canto's and I've gotta say ''be prepared'', they are tough at times. Thanks for checking this video!
I'm not sure of the point of this vid. Yes, he did develop forms of mental illness, and yes, he was tracked by the FBI, and like so many people with mental illness he surcomed to it. But his music and views on society and government are valid today. He was a great artist. Check out Billy Braggs song 'I dreamed I saw Phil Ochs last night'.
Greatest composer/musician Eye've ever heard...bar none...Eye do sAye that with a little reluctance though sow as to NOT overlook thee beautyfull contributions & frequencies such as Bob Marley, Sade & others who utilize music as a means of true prayer/meditation & deep Way of worship...yET Eye do feel he's the best in the history of music because of the level of ultra refined purity embedded in his frequencies...& that includes Beethoven, Mozart, & all of the greats throughout history. God bless him & his incredible band 🙏
Surprised there wasn't a film made about his life yet. Bob Dylan is known today and Ochs isn't which is odd because Ochs had good looks, a great voice, a sense of humor and brilliant songwriting.
Mick wrote this brilliant and intelligent morality poem filled with well read historical, as well as current event references. Then as musical director, Keith was charged with the task of making this wordy though thought provoking life lesson a classic piece of pop/rock music that could do the gravity of the lyric justice with worthy accompaniment. The groove was the most illusive element that took so long to search out. The song stagnated, languished and was almost indefinitely shelved, by some reports. Keith rose to the challenge and in an inspired flash of creative genius, he sensed that what it needed was a primitive samba rhythm and some Brazilian drum syncopations to augment Charlie's eclectic jazz provoked rhythms. That made what could have been a somber and depressing, preachy musical diatribe into an infectious and exciting piece of dance music. Top it off with Keith's driving fat back bass guitar countering Nicky's rolicking piano, and one of the most piercing and moving electric guitar solos Mr Richards has ever performed. This is Keith and Mick at the very top of their game, with no fluff and no compromises. This documentary film demonstrates how classic rock songs like SFTD don't just fall out of the sky and roll off the tongue in a couple of sessions ... but they are more often the fruit of hard work from tirelessly dedicated and gifted artists.
It's disgraceful to use this man's "insanity" for a video and go as far as to state he was paranoid about FBI agents without mentioning his well documented surveillance under COINTELPRO. It's public knowledge FBI Head J Edgar Hoover had 500+ pages on Phil and had multiple agents assigned to him. You didn't even mention how he intended to expand his record label, Barricade, into a revolutionary newspaper/newstation/recording studio, Barricade house, to accommodate for having his voice box crushed. Not only are you defaming a heroic artist but you're providing smokescreen for those that destroyed him. I suggest, out of respect for his humanity, you keep this man's name out of your mouth. Its unfortunate for Phil that this video even got 4k views. This video is either ignorant or malicious and, citing a large theme of Phil's work, it amounts to the same result.
