Led Zeppelin is probably one of the most famous heavy rock bands that ever existed. The band consisted of vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. The band became what it is today mostly because of Jimmy Page. He produced every track and exerted probably the most influence within the group. But that's not where I'm focused on today. While each member had major importance, I think the band wasn't one we would know nowadays without Robert Plant. He is probably one of the most influential rock singers to have ever existed with noticeable songwriting credits such as 'stairway to heaven' or 'black dog'. The list of influences goes on and on, and I hope that you can understand why.

Jimmy Page created Led Zeppelin and was the mastermind and genius behind the band, not only was he the guitarist he was also the principle songwriter and the producer and leader of the band. He was the one who had the vision to create Led Zeppelin.

Plant can rightfully be called the most influential vocalist in rock history. I’m not claiming he is the “best” singer. Many would argue that title goes to Freddy Mercury. However, Plant certainly IS the most emulated and therefore, the most influential…

Mercury was gifted to intuitively adjust his live singing to something consistently melodic. Plant struggled to find this, I suspect largely due to arrogant self-indulgence, recklessness, and constant pushing of his voice beyond what would have healthy limits. His “best singing” overall IMO is post-Zeppelin. What Plant has had over Mercury in spades is an ongoing versatility and evolution of his voice.

Good video but all focused on Robert Plant. He wasn't the only reason that Led Zeppelin became so popular. It was also down to the ideas, musicianship and delivery of the other 3 members of the band. It was a band of 4 equals in ability and strength. It was Jimmy Page's band and he also produced their music. He is regarded as one of the best guitarists, John Bonham is regarded as one of the best drummers and John Paul Jones is one of the best all rounders. Their live performances were a big attraction too, particularly their ability to improvise on stage and play 3 hour concerts. Their albums were big sellers. They did not rely on singles for their fame and reputation which spread at first more by word of mouth.

IMO. Plants voice in 1970 and 1971 is the greatest male voice I’ve ever heard. It was absolutely incredible

4 of the greatest individual musicians in rock history, in-psynch and perfectly aligned as a band, led by one of the greatest minds in rock history (Jimmy Page), and working with a manager (Peter Grant) who fiercely defended them at every turn.

OH! Yes! John Paul Jones was the greatest too! But all four of them created a magical moments in music 🎶and memories of all time ⏲️! So none or anyone should be left out! They got together as a band to make a great day of their young lives and how they think of themselves as the most important thing in their life and beyond their secret mission from the day they got to know each other and they don't know how long they have been great for their music!😁

Good. Different from what everyone else is doing. I’m a Robert Plant fan and have followed his solo career. Love his later work especially …..2007 to today as well as his work innNo Quarter re-imagining Zep songs. You could have done 30 minutes and I would have been happy. I love your idea of getting past blocking by using alternative cuts. Good call!

I'm thinking your a strong Robert Plant fan. You have a lot of knowledge of Plant but his musical path before Zeppelin was of minimal consequence to Rock music. He actually walked more of a pop or Motown path. Jimmy Page was the architect of Zeppelin. There were points in the bands span that Plant fought for control of the band. As with Plant's prior work before Zeppelin his work after Zeppelin has never been considered hard or heavy rock. In fact it's exactly as you descibed it. Mellow and on the softer side. Now I'm sure you see the tattoo on my hand and think a Page fan! Things are not always as they seem. I'm a vocalist and Plant has always been and continues to be an inspiration. Plant for me has always been my idol in the band because as I said I'm a vocalist. Page though gets my total respect. As not only the guitarist and song writer but as producer, constructor of the band. He with the help of Peter Grant and even John Paul Jones created every aspect of what Zeppelin would become! See if you do the research you'll find you made mistakes in your presentation. Robert Plant was the lead singer for Led Zeppelin. That is the main reason they have never toured after the disbanding. Jimmy Page was the captain of the ship if it was under the Zeppelin moniker. Plant and Page was a joint effort that Plant would had never done if it wasn't equal control. Jones was not brought into that because there would had been another party to deal with. After 2007 O2 arena show it was becoming increasingly more and more complicated and Plant just felt it was better off leaving it. It was Jimmy's baby and he was taking control of it. Plant could go do things the way he wanted to. But the heaviest Plant was after Zeppelin was Plant and Page.

Robert plant was as green as could be jimmy knew what he wanted and saw it in Robert and took him in and shaped him to where he is today and probably be an accountant if not for jimmy page being turned down by terry Reid

Page didn't follow the same path after Zeppelin since Zeppelin themselves never followed one single path either, that's the opposite of who Page and the others were as musicians and a band. His soundtrack album Deathwish 2 is unlike anything he did with Zep and his music with the Firm was completely different as well.
