Road noise isnt an issue at all with this car. Its not the most quiet car i've ever been in but its certainly not bad. I wouldnt want it to be totally quiet inside because it would take away from the sound of that lovely engine.
Hey great content. I’m looking to get a si and I heard these car has a rev hang and oil leakage. Have you had any experience with these situations? thanks.
do you ever get inconsistent clunky shifts going from 1-6, if not, whats the trick to always shift smoothly? im not talking about rev hang btw. thank you for your video
Great question. I tend to drive and shift pretty low in the rpm’s for each gear. That seems to really help with the transition from gear to gear. Sometimes I will go straight from 3 to 5 or 4 to 6 for something like a highway on ramp but generally I just shift low in the rpm’s unless I am trying to drive more aggressively. Does this help? I’m not totally sure what you are asking.
Last saturday, Dec 29th i got my SI in pearl white. Im a tech at a honda dealer and have been waitint to get my hands on the 11th gen. Ive always shopped for cars on marketplace and had a few used cars and was about to get a 08 si for 5k. Worth it, although im glad i went with the 11th gen. Currently im around 990 or so miles and i cant wait to drive. Some say theres gonna be buyers remorse but i dont see it. Its a civic si, best of the best and all around its dialed in. Not sure what im talking about tbh, but all in all, i cant be happier. Yes its not fast and i know the options i couldve gotten regarding performance like a velociter N, but the 11th gen SI has the be one of the best cars all around
Great video..i have a 22 SI, absolutely love it to death. Cheap, fun, wireless android auto, paid off. I sat in a type R last week, clutch is too heavy for my liking. SI all day lol
I think the Civic Si doesn't have a spare tire so they can compensate for the moonroof weight. This is just my assumption though. I'd say on average the moonroof(glass, frame, motor) weighs 30-40 pounds and a spare tire kit is roughly around the same weight maybe a bit lighter? I am not sure. I sure did wish they came with a spare tire though...
Sadly, it was marked up quite a bit. I may do a breakdown video of what I paid if that is helpful to anyone. I was able to negotiate down a little bit.
I bought a 2024 sport touring manual. I love it!!!! Not an si but….. it moves great!!! I traded in my turbo Cadillac for it. Best thing I ever did. 🍻✌️
Driving any manual in stop and go can be a bit annoying but I would still chose this over any other car. Your clutch foot might get tired but it’s no big deal.
I recently got my Si and I find the stock tires terrible for snow. They're the Goodyear all seasons. Took an intersection at only 20 mph and lost traction and hit a curb. I'm lazy and don't want to switch tires every season so I'm going with the Michelin crossclimate 2, heard they are great for snow. I get them in a couple of days, if you want an update hit me up after I get in some miles.
Been about a week, no snow yet in MN but dry and wet traction has been great. Haven't noticed any difference in road noise from the stocks except on a weird section of highway that was oddly textured. Will update if I we ever get snow.... Lol
U really had to ask this question? You couldn’t have just google 2023 civic si and look at a godam picture of every single one with fog lights in the bumpers.
I thought the same thing. But on a Canadian review channel they pointed something out. The SI is considered the top trim and gets all the bells and whistles. They do not get an option for a sport touring with a manual. Not taking into consideration dealer markups. Their Civic SI is the highest priced in their market. In our market it should be extremely affordable. But Greedy people do greedy things. Thus making it appear Honda is screwing us when they tried to at least price it accordingly.
After test driving a WRX yesterday, I called my local Honda dealer and they had two SI in stock. Test drove a 2024 Sonic pearl gray and took it home. First impression was the awesome and ease of driving, this compared to a 2015 Mustang GT PP manual I sold a few months ago. Thanks for the review.
It might. The stock shifter is mostly metal with a leather band around the sides. If you had something all leather it would probably be a lot better. It’s the metal that gets so hot and cold.
I haven’t looked for a new one yet. I’ll probably just keep gloves in the glovebox. I have also seen covers you can buy that look like hoodies for the shifter. I’d probably try some kind of glove or cover before I replace the knob.
appreciated this video! I was curious how the Si would do in the snow. What made you choose the Si over a WRX when the WRX could have AWD for these kinds of scenarios? The Si and WRX are top of my list for next car and I'm curious if you have any opinions/recommendations.
Great question! There were a lot of factors involved in that choice but it really came down to my situation and where I live. I’ve had AWD vehicles and unless you have something with better ground clearance, I’ve found proper tires to be just has helpful as AWD. Wasn’t worth the extra money and I liked the Civic more.
@@emstein555 that makes a lot of sense. Haven't experienced AWD vs snow tires so that is helpful to hear your experience. The Civic does seem the better choice overall for lower price to buy, more reliable, better mpg and all that. Thanks for the insight!
Nope, no bent wheel at all. The tire split between the treads from a piece of construction metal in the road. The tires are ok but not great. Nice for perfectly dry conditions but not great in the rain or wet conditions.
Yo I bought the exact same car and the reasons you said for why were essentially word for word what I would say to anyone who asked. The rim lock idea was helpful too, immediate sub
I have had my civic for 18 months. Almost 15k miles. I am being completely honest when I say I like it more today than the day I came home with it. Any doubts, reservations or post purchase blues have evaporated with every mile, curve and freeway on ramp I have encountered.
@@pv4083 I have had no issues with the oil. I changed it every 5k. It's also my understanding oil dilution problems occurred in extremely cold weather when the engines were not allowed to warm up over repetitive short trip driving. Additionally my own research indicated that almost all engines do have some fuel slip past the piston rings. It burns off naturally. Lastly. Honda did change the oil the use to GF6. Don't quote me on that last one. That just was I heard. Making it hearsay. Hope you get one and enjoy it as much as we do
I don’t think the fuel bars are meant to be a perfect measurement. I was likely idling between two bars. I only use the numerical range gauge if I’m really looking for how much range I have.
I Love your Review. I used to own an Acura Integra and retired the car at 366,000 Miles. I now drive my mom's Honda Civic to work. Looking back, I should have installed a Clear Bra in Front of the Car to prevent Rock Chips. After the warranty period, find yourself a Good Trusted Mechanic/Shop and follow the maintenance schedule like Tire Rotation, Oil Change, Coolant, Transmission Oil change to the exact specifications. Keep all the records in a folder and you can still sell it at a good price when you decided to get another Honda in the future.
