How many cards in total are in the dark souls card game for the base set? I know it’s 400+ I just need to know if it’s more than 450?? Please someone help..
from what i have played the only thing that doesnt line up with the video game is how the loot system works. i would have the loot go into inventory and then leave the souls into the loot area at all times. use the souls when ever you rest if you can but lose them if you if you die.
Man, I was planning on picking this game up but I'm glad I checked a tutorial first. I don't like games with that many symbols to keep track of. Just use text, there's so much space on those cards to spell out exactly what each option does. I feel like every other turn I'd be referring to the rulebook to decipher what my new cards do
This game could be a lot worse in my opinion. There’s a nice little reference card as well, all that being said - there are better games to spend your money on anyways
Not sure if your page is still active, but I wanted to thank you for the review. I bought the game off of someone last week who had never opened it. I've already played it a couple times and am loving it! In part it's thanks to your review to help me better understand what the game was about, considering it's not widely available or talked about. All the best 🙂
I appreciate that. Always nice to hear positive feedback. Yea the page is not terribly active right now - but I do miss content creation and I’m hoping to have some new content and such for a soft relaunch in early 2024 so there is that.
Thank you! I got this for my birthday and I'm so excited to start playing now that I don't have to spend hours trying to understand the rule book on my own
Im moving to Europe from Australia and I bought it for my 8yo granddaughter and Mrs who doesn't speak English and has never played a game in her life so I needed something to help them get into something that is mega simple and easy, plus I'm not a gamer tho have bought re 40 games to get into once I move. This game/book sounds just what my granddaughter and Mrs would love Would they be into the typical blow-up and kill everyone type of game? Definitely not and neither am I...... grew out of that years ago. want something light and simple. This is perfect by the sounds of it
Attack dice - certain weapons will use them. There will be a red shape with a number on it on the weapon card - that tells you to use red dice and how many.
Craft paints will be the cheapest but comes with a fair amount of cons. Next up it’s between reaper mini paints and army painter. They are fairly close in price - army painter looks to be slightly cheaper on price per bottle comparison. Vallejo and AK are fairly close in price too. There are chances with anyone of these to get a good deal on a big set of paints that makes them far cheaper than buying by the bottle. Have to shop around but those are really the 4 I think to look at if you want cheaper paints.
Generally I tend to use red grass games brushes lately, but I’ll admit I’m not terribly sure on the longevity of them. Otherwise it was Windsor and Newton brushes for me. Windsor and Newton tend to be on the expensive side but they do seem to last months for me.
Just one - pretty sure I didn’t do multiple - probably spent off screen maybe? I don’t remember this video is several years old at this point and likely to be deleted soon.
Good honest review, I really want to love this game, so I can buy it... but I think your points are valid. I think it would be better if they added trigger/combo effects, like Hero Realms.
As I can't find the answer anywhere, does condition damage ignore armor? I.E. if I inflict poison or frostbite on an enemy, and the enemy has 1 armor and 1 health. Would it kill the enemy when the poison/frostbite does its damage? Or is it soaked by the armor?
That is an excellent question. The rule book is a bit vague on this, but I believe since you can’t stack the same conditions on top of each other - it is meant to be read that the 1 damage goes through armor since it’s applied as part of an attack. So in your example I believe that yes, the enemy would be dead.
@@Paint_to_play Brilliant, I thought so too. Else it would make most conditions quite useless. Like why even apply poison if it's going to be mitigated by the armor :/ But I didn't want to just make up my own rules xD And potentially make it easier than it should be.
What I've seen is that really good painters on RU-vid have paints from different brands. They have favorites, but … they use the colors they want from the companies who make it. One guy swears by Citadel, except for metalics. Another person loves their Vallejo paints. Someone else uses Army Painter paints, but swears by Citadel washes. Use what you like and don't be afraid to try new stuff. I've been building up a little skill with cheap craft paints on terrain and tile type things, just to teach myself how to paint, how to mix, etc. So my paint of choice has been Apple Barrel. I wouldn't use that on minis, but it's what I am getting used to. My first mini paints … it's easy to get Army Painter in big sets, but it's not going to be that. No, Reaper has some nice kits for learning to paint that come with a few of their paints, a few of their minis, and specifically some guides to teach the techniques. And I've heard that the paints are fairly easy to control, easy to shake without an agitator or mixer, and they're a lot cheaper than Citadel by a lot. Sounds good! My plan beyond doing a couple of painting kits to try and practice specific skills is to buy a couple bottles at a time of what colors I like. If it doesn't work out, then I'll try something similar from a different brand.
That’s exactly the method and thought process I’m really trying to advocate in this video. Could perhaps have been a bit clearer stated by me, but the point being really - don’t get locked into thinking one brand is the “best”.
I believe the cards are the same size - they use the same size sleeve. As for the player board it’s not very big - sorry I don’t have exact measurements as I sold the game awhile ago but it’s smaller than most cars playmats if that helps
Basically as long as a door is open and there is a route to a character - it’s like zombicide in that even if they don’t see you - they know where you are. In RE2 though you can close doors and that prevents enemies from following you
Depends on if this is your first contemporary board game or not. I’d say it’s relatively simple. It maybe seems like a lot at first but once you get the hang of it - it really makes sense and is largely automatic
Do you know about a boardgame from starwars that had a snake/alligator skin on the outside of the game before you fold it open to play. So the backside. ? Long black rectangular board . Maybe older game? Starwars pretty sure
First decent box art style guide that I've found that uses citadel paints. Looks great and will definitely use this when I get round to my sand troops.
I remade Risk Star Wars board game on tabletop simulator.. and it's awesome. You should check it out - steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2236935762
Yes - sorry if the video was slightly unclear there but every player turn is made up of the three phases - activation, reaction, tension - then the next player goes- activation, reaction, tension - and then the next player - etc.
I honestly don’t remember and do not own the game anymore. You’d have the check the manual or perhaps BGG has some information on exact numbers of starting decks
I will actually do the same with my bottle but inverted. Lighter green where there is no liquid, and darker where there is liquid. Seems more natural that way.
It’s really a personal preference thing , I’ve seen it done both ways. Assuming a glass bottle, the area where liquid resides would largely look darker than the area where light could shine through the bottle. That being said though, light is pretty crazy sometimes and if the light source is from the bottom or just hitting the glass in the right way (also depending on the liquid inside) it could be inverted. Also depends on the color of the glass - the old style green glass bottles I was thinking of here tended to look darker, but the lighter green bottles of today can depending on the color of the liquid look brighter.
