*pls note. I am not an influencer. I have a job. However I am also not an instructor. If I go on a rambling tangent about something and it sounds like I'm giving flying advice, I strongly suggest you don't take it. I just say my mind and what works best for me.
I lived in Pelly Crossing, just over a hundred kilometers north of Carmacks, a couple years ago for a summer. That brings back memories. What a beautiful country this is.
This is great - 99.99% of humanity (past, present, or future) will never get to see this part of Earth ..even fewer from just thousands of ft above it! Brilliant channel. Thanks for this one - it was cool 👍
Great video, a little piece of advice to help the issue with the first bucket. Always test the bucket before you get to the fire. I always test right at the first dip to make sure. Sometimes your dipsites are miles away from the fire. Also why are you running the bucket on the remote hook? I never seen that before, seems like more complications and if you have to pickle the line for whatever reason your hook and bucket are trashed.
I did a small spell with woodland firefighting out of high school, we had three choppers dropping buckets trying to slow it down and the crew I was with almost got backed into a corner. If it wasn't for someone with the skill, nerve, and good awareness to drop those buckets with good accuracy we may have had to abandon our position or even god forbid do a burn over. So hats off to you and what you do, fly safe out there.
I had a POST LOTTO/POWERBALL dream that involved buying an aircraft company that did to 53Echos and the bigger ones like they do at througherbred or wutever it is those dudes in kentuky... anyhow, then my company would LEASE THEM BACK to the cool helo pilots that are out there hustling like you are!!! HAVE AN AWESOME EVERY THING !!! LOVE JOY COMPASSION <---the ROOTs of ALL THINGS GOOD !!!! KARMA is only as mean, nasty, ''evil'', sketch.... AS YOU ARE (or were) !!!
and lots of them went up to alaska and out to ''the bush'' for the BIG BERTHA HEAVY JOBS ... majority of the ''leases'' went to water droppers.... imagine droppin water in a 53echo... SCHWINNNGGGGG !!! :) or is that just me?
