I don't think so or I didn't jack it up enough. Attempt 2 we jacked it better in the middle and it was closer, probably 3/4" off. Using alignment punches moved it pretty easily the rest of the way.
We worked with this customer on the phone. We discovered some of the Mete/Rival magazines have an issue. Sanding the part down is a quick fix. In the gun world, making small adjustments happens. We offered to take the part back AND sent a return postage-paid label. We are willing to send him a few of the plastic plates so he can get one that works for him. He has not responded. Not sure how we are supposed to make this customer happy.
Just found out that we have a fixed part to send this customer if he wants it. We always take customer concerns seriously. His issue led to an immediate fix. Wish people would not assume a company doesn't care until they are given more than a few hours to figure the issue out.
Prefill everything walls ceilings gaps cracks ….. and lots of people don’t know that manufacturer says mesh tape is to be used with setting type joint compound and not recommended for all purpose
The manufacturer instructions state either is fine. Stapling on the face offers better vapor barrier . No more stapling on the sides, the insulation must be in substantial contact with the air barrier, no gaps for convective currents.
The dyson definitely did not blow the ryobi away. It was close especially for the cost difference. As far as the dyson filter being clean it has 2 filters in it.
Terrible! Never piece drywall near an opening. Stagger all seams. don’t ruin every corner. And don’t mud with your bare hands. Tear it out start fresh. It’s $100 bucks worth of board.
Just looking at that work I’ve seen worse but those missing pieces in the drywall isn’t nothing when you have a good finisher I normally prefill everything so my tape can go on smooth in every bad area I’ll just float out
The fact they just randomly started mudding before all the board was up isn't a sign of lack of skill or professionalism. It's a sign that you're dealing with complete morons.
A good finisher can take care of that ive seen 10 times worse as a 35 year carpenter and i still make mistakes but the cracked off edges is uncalled for thats just carelessness but ripping that out is a big waste of time and money .it can be fixed
This is partially your own fault. There should not be plugs and switches installed in the electrical boxes before drywall. This makes it impossible to make clean cuts around the boxes.
15 years experienced residential home remodeler here. In my honest opinion... it’s not as bad as I was expecting when you said you fired them. My final analysis of their skills is that they know just enough to be dangerous, if they were young, idk maybe you over reacted and shoulda just pointed out their workmanship or lack there of and talked it out maybe asked for a lower price if you felt it was high to begin with or something... maybe asked if they really thought they could fix it all with mud. I’ve fixed worse before after homeowners tried to do it. I have seen jobs that were so bad it had to come down. This I feel would have been salvageable. Although it doesn’t even appear to be but less than 200$ worth of drywall so if you just aren’t satisfied then hey, don’t worry about what I say, doesn’t seem to be a gigantic loss either way unless they were really charging you a lot for the labor and you let them walk with half the cash down.
Seems like the point of this story is why hire someone when you can do it yourself... n pluss Noone is gona work nicer and cleaner on your house than you...
I'd be more concerned about the tape joints that are overfilled. You can float cracks holes and seams. But if you have 1/4" buildup on all your joints and every trowel mark then THAT is not good. Sheetrock is pretty easy to fix before you mud it.
Honestly... I think you're losing your cool for no reason here. All those cracks and rips you just prefill with durabond before taping. Starting to finish before even having everything hung is stupid, idk why they did that. Was it worth firing them over? Idk. Id love to know how much the contract was worth.
$1600 everyone else was $3600. These guys sucked and I later found out they had reviews saying they stole from customers and took money and did no work
Need to be there on the first day and then surprise on the third day with coffees. You have to babysit everybody. This contractor obviously got away with way too much and nobody was watching. They were just trusting. It’s not just the contractors fault
...which is how I became a DIYer, better off doing it yourself and just getting guys standing in front of Home Depot to help or contact an agency to send some help to the job site. Just way too many Scammers now to trust anybody to do good work anymore.
Lol, this was about 200+. We just finished 375 panels at another job and are now waiting 45+ weeks for 1000 amp main terminal breaker boxes and meter stacks.
I really cant stand to do drywall especially the mudding and finish work and i have been told that my work is sub par ,but i am sure my work on this would have been 100 percent better haha but i think i will stick to welding and fixing old bikes.hope you got this sorted out
